i'm betty yu. >> reporter: we have a fairly robust system with the focus over the north bay area first, but look at the plume of moisture off the coast of hawaii. doppler shows some of the heavier cells sink into san francisco. it is all coming into santa rosa county. we have the showers more rain tuesday and yet another system coming in christmas eve which doesn't look as robust. we will have the full forecast coming up in just a few

the gill way family when they're plane crashed in the central valley. we have more on a neighborhood in shock. >> when i found out i was just in shock. >> i couldn't believe it happened, they were really guys people. >> this is a very close neighborhood and everybody around us here knows everybody. we're all sad. >> reporter: everyone knows one home here will be empty this holiday season after the price family died saturday. when they're small plane went down. that was the last air traffic control would hear flight attendant john price. his wife and three kids were all on board. the family took off from read hill view airport going to visit friends in las vegas. the plane went down in an

wetter. you can see this enhancing as it gets closer to the bay area. some to have stronger cells are down through salma cento. on the futurecast you can see that it gets green and stays green, this is tonight at 11:00, you will notice as tonight goes on its generally wet, not absolute downpour, but it is going to rain and rain and rain and get lighter tonight. it will go to showers overnight and continue with a showery regime tomorrow. 8:48 p.m. tonight the winter stoleties solstice longest night of the

high school senior in san jose.. for 13 years.. he has stayed in touch. and now, wendy tokuda tel we first met our student rising above when he was a student. for 13 years he stayed in touch. now he is doing something no one could have expected. >> reporter: 2002, hector rodrigues was a 17 years old honor student at college prep in san jose, 13 years later watch the fuzzy home video as he is sworn in as a lawyer. >> i've been waking up thinking that i'm not sure if it's true. i'm -- i'm -- >> reporter: you can't believe you're a lawyer? >> i'm waiting for somebody to tell me that you're not licensed yet. >> reporter: but he is. he graduated from the school of

law last year. >> education has always been my medium so to speak that connects me with my parents. >> reporter: he was allowed into the united states after the hurricane. they're father was killed by a drunk driver in eighth grade. his mother overcome by grief took her own life. >> that life, that family, was absolutely destroyed. >> reporter: they moved in with their aunt in san jose. he spoke no english when he arrived. he learned so quickly and his grades were so exceptional he got a skoaler ship to go to -- skoaler scholarship. we caught up with him back in the bay area with his mentor and his sisters and we learned

these three siblings really rose above together. >> i saw the tragedy of what happened to their mom and dad brought them together in a very unique way. they're coresponsible for each other. >> every step we are holding hands. i know my parents are probably looking down and happy with him. >> reporter: and as a new attorney he said he feels his parents nearby. >> they're with me every step. i wasn't supposed to graduate from law school. none of the statistics say that's possible. but they were wrong if you just work hard at it and you believe there's something bigger than you that is moving you. >> reporter: you can help students like hector by going
