identified. jennifer has the story. >> reporter: iranian state tell us and announced the news on saturday, for americans being held prisoner in exchange for seven radians held in the united states. they also - - the americans are a washington post reporter, a marine, and american businessman, and a pastor. we spoke with the pastor's wife from idaho. and a student was released as part of a second agreement. >> they should be on their way home before long. >> the prisoner swap - - swap was announced and it was after the insurer that iran had kept

up to their end of the bargain with the nuclear deal. >> many people doubted this would ever come to pass. >> president obama signed an executive order lifting the sanctions so they could now sell oil on the open market. it gives them access to the global banking system and the country will recover $100 billion in frozen assets. if they are still moving ahead with nuclear programs, the sanctions will be imposed again. a former hostage said that there is nothing like the feeling of touching down after years of kept his city was captivity. he was one of three american hikers captured and imprisoned in 2009. he was accused of being a spy and put on trial. he and a friend were convicted

and sentenced to eight years in prison but were released on humanitarian grounds. we talked to his former neighbor about his release. >> i was in tears. it seemed like it would never end and there were so many possibilities of when it could have come to an end. >> the publisher of the washington post could not be happier about his release. now to the deadly tour bus accident in san francisco, the pedestrian was shot and killed this afternoon. the victim is described as a man in his 70s. mark is on the scene, what can you tell us? >> reporter: this block has been sectioned off since 1:00 this afternoon. you could look behind me right now and still see the took the bus away about 45 minutes ago. it appears the victim was there

today when he was struck and killed. here is the scene from earlier in the afternoon, police blocked off the area near the back of the bus. the victim was pronounced dead here at the scenewe do not have any other details. no one else was injured and the bus driver and bus companies are cooperating with authorities as they try to figure out what went wrong. >> it was early in the investigation. we had to determine who had the right-of-way. >> it's early to understand how fast it was going, it had - - if it had run a red light or if it was in the middle of a tour. police were hoping to get surveillance of some of the buildings and hopefully the bus itself. they hope that will give them a clearer picture. >> thank you mark.

and now to the last instant, investigators are working to figure out what caused the tour bus from a different company to crash in union square. surveillance video shows it racing down the street and the driver says the brakes gave out. the bus plowed through scaffolding and her more than 20 people. they never inspected the bus because the company never registered it with the dmv. >> rating is using, and there is a lot more coming in later tomorrow. the doppler isn't picking much up in the - - in the way of light rain but we still have light showers tonight and rain will spread south on sunday. light showers tonight and sunday, rain that will spread

showers will continue to ease up as the night goes on but the high surf advisory with rip tides possible around 20 feet and the largest waves are coming in tomorrow, so be careful if you're going out to the shoreline and here is what is happening, low pressure in the pacific moves closer to the shoreline and packs a wall of - - that will pack a wallop tomorrow. moving toward midday, you can see it by noon in the north bay and 6:00 tomorrow night with widely scattered rain and heavy snow - - monday, clouds, and just in time for the commute on tuesday, another system moves in. the one on sunday looks strong.

how much rain do we pick up tween now and tomorrow morning? a few hundredths of an inch of rain. by tuesday, 3 inches of rain in santa rosa and 3 inches in the mountains. as we look over san jose, showers ease up overnight, with more rain coming into tomorrow morning and spreading to the south. and a wet and unsettled week is ahead. snowed - - by tomorrow afternoon, moderate volumes and we will pick up more than 1 foot of snow above 700,000. - - above 7000 feet. chain control is in effect. tonight guy readings will be fairly mild. none of this is an arctic source. the numbers overnight or in the lower 50s. high temperatures are in the
