a grey hound bus flips -- killing two passengers... and now the chopper 5 above the scene of a deadly crash during the morning commute. a greyhound bus killed two passengers. now the question is about how it all happened. this good afternoon,

everyone. >> reporter: the chopper 5 picture showing you there's still traffic backed up five and a half hours after the accident. from the ground you can see the bus still yore turned with the debris scattered everywhere. the bodies of two women who died were removed here a couple of hours ago with passengers all over the hov lane. a greyhound bus on the way from san francisco crashed around 6:40 while heavy rainfall was pum eling the freeway. chp isn't giving us a specific cause right now. but passengers believe the driver may have fallen asleep just before crashing. they say at one point, she pulled over on the side of the freeway, tried to wake herself up and continued heading north. a few miles later this happened. >> the best chance to the.

pine tree this morning in san francisco. two cars suffering minor damage and the road was blocked. firefighters had to use chainsaws to cut that up. that street is now open. a couple of more trees down in other bay area cities. this one in berkeley in the block of skyline. we don't have any reports of power outage at hour. on ralston avenue. another tree fell. all of that heavy rain and gusty winds did it overnight. let's go to roberta and get the latest on storms 10 and 11. >> urwith our sky on the storm, this storm 10 moved onshore about 10:00 in the morning hours. it blew in at 35 miles an hour. it's hi-def doppler radar. the only precipitation we're picking up right now is right there in throughout the trivalley. also just scooting on over the sunol grade there making direction out of the pleasanton area towards san jose. otherwise we saw a lot of rain

avalanches. 25 people facing charges for shutting down the bay bridge backing up traffic for miles. it was a protest coinciding with the martin luther king holiday all in support of the black lives matter movement. >> we don't need the cops rolling down our blocks. >> they chained their cars and themselves across all five westbound plains of the bay bridge bringing commute to a crippling hot. >> linked arm to arm and car to car, the protesters were charged for about 30 minutes. >> the chp was aware of the protest plans and had crews staged at the toll plaza. but the preparation wasn't enough. >> they were able to get up on that bridge and were able to control those lanes. >> officers moved in with bolt culters. and the chain links were replaced by zip ties but the damage to the drivers was already done. >> i think that i'm about to turn my car around and go home.

>> it's not fair. >> i can understand, you know, the message but the way they are going about doing it, that's not right. >> the protest was centered around the black lives movement. >> i think it's important that the public understands that black lives and black health matter enough to sit an wait on the bridge for a while. i think that the people who are dying in the streets their life are worth having to wait for a little while. it's worth disrupting business as usual. >> is this isn't the first time this has happened. last august, and in december of 2014, highway 24 was shut down. after the police shooting in ferguson, missouri traffic was stopped for two nights blocking 580 in oakland. as they were hauled away yesterday, some blue kisses at protesters in the bliss van. there are threats already of another protest like this one shutting down the super bowl.

but organizers say that won't happen. >> we've been working for over two years to plan for this event. working for local law enforcement, working for public municipalities to make sure those types of events if they do happen, we can quickly manage through them. >> super bowl officials say they have a plan in place and contingencies in place behind something like that happens. >> we've learned new information about the deadly b.a.r.t. shooting last week. we now know the suspect rode a transit bus to the b.a.r.t. station and cameras captured him on board. we're told the 19-year-old man later shot to death on b.a.r.t. was on that same bus. b.a.r.t. says the two men interacted on that bus and then got on the same b.a.r.t. train where things turned deadly ten days ago. police are still trying to determine if the men knew each other before the fatal encountert. and union city police killed a man overnight who charged at them with a garden tool. officers were responding to reports of a man banging on the window of a home in the 3800

block of amy place. they found a man with a digging instrument. police say he refused to drop it and charged at officers. city of carmel says a 2014 explosion was due to the same safety violation regulators blamed on pg&e in the san bruno blast. carmel accuses the utility continuing to rely on faulty records for the distribution pipelines. we have a call into pg&e for a response. stanford university warning students to be vigilant after a sexual assault in a campus bathroom. the alleged attack happened over the weekend on saturday. the suspect is described as a white man 4'60" and wearing a -- white man 6 feet tall. the number of daily

great lakes. the justices will decide if president obama can use an executive order to allow undocumented immigrants to remain and work in the u.s. the order was stalled by the courts in 2014. it allows certain qualified immigrants to apply for work programs and benefits. more than 4 million people could be affected by the decision. ready to do your taxes? well, you can file starting today. the irs will start accepting electronic returns. the deadline is later because april 15th falls on a friday so you get a three-day reprieve. the deadline is the 18th. and chip reid says the tax scam artists are already busy targeting their victims. >> the irs is calling me? is this for real? >> reporter: the treasurydy issued this warning to warn tax payers about those claiming tock irs agents. >> who are these people making these calls? >> ruthless ruthless criminals

and they don't care about anything other than getting your money. >> reporter: north carolina pastor al kaiden told us last year he was so scared he couldn't think straight. it started with this threatening call. >> was informing me they were filing a warrant for my arrest. >> reporter: so he made multiple withdraws from his bank and sent the irs to the impersonator with prepaid debit cards. the total $16,000. and kaiden learned that 366,000 people had been called. now it's more than 900,000. and the total amount of money stolen has grown from 15 million to 26 million. >> reporter: what should people off this is a scam? >> the tipoff is if you don't
