welcome to "cbs this morning." republican front-runner donald trump says he will boycott the last debate before iowa's first in the nation caucuses. trump says he will skip tomorrow night's fox news event because he claims debate moderator megyn kelly is biased against him. >> now, if he goes through with his promise, that would put ted cruz and marco rubio at center stage in prime time. major garrett is in des moines with trump's risky move. good morning. >> good morning. the feud between donald trump and fox news simmering for months is now on. which means the final debate before the iowa caucuses is off. at least for trump and at least for now. it's a saga that played out at press conferences, rallies and, of course, on tv. >> they can't toy with me like they toy with everybody else. so let them have their debate. let's see how they do with the ratings.

>> reporter: it all started when fox news released a statement early yesterday mocking a future president trump for cowering to vladimir putin and the ayatollah saying trump would, quote replace his cabinet with twitter followers. he was not amused. >> when they sent out the wise guy pieces done by some pr person along with roger ailes, i said bye-bye. okay? >> reporter: he claimed the trump boycott was rooted in one thing, megyn kelly. >> welcome to the kelli file, everybody. i'm megyn kelly. >> the debate will go on with or without mr. trump. >> fox stood by kelly against what it said were unspecified threats of trouble from trump campaign manager corey li lewindowski. rivals pounced. >> apparently megyn kelly is real lu, really scary.

>> lots of questions about motivation and why one person is doing this. but who wins? >> right now, i think the team of candidates who are going to be on that stage could be the winners, if they tee off on trump in his absence, i think they could wind up actually making ground up. >> megyn kelly started her show saying trump is used to being in charge but she said, quote, the truth is he doesn't get to control the media. >> he has, though. when you look at the conduct of the media toward trump, he's not gotten scrutiny that all other front-runners in the republican nomination have over time. i've been around so long i've seen them over time. he's allowed to get away with doing thins with the media that others aren't. >> like what? >> how many times do people in the media allow him to call into television shows? uned is shows. he calls into sunday shows. nobody is afforded this kind of opportunity. >> that hasn't happened here. we've extend an invitation many

times. we want him in live and in color. >> he's only a few blocks away. >> we could throw a rock and hit him. in his statement he talks about press releases written by a child. this is from the trump camp. unlike the stupid, highly incompetent people running our country into the ground, mr. trump knows when to walk away, roger ailes and fox news thinks they can toy with him. mr. trump doesn't play games. does this hurt him now, rick? >> i think the gross inconsistencies that are starting to show up, frankly the more attention he gets, the more scrutiny he gets, the more inconsistent he is. just yesterday, he talks about maybe i will, maybe i won't. i don't know what i'm going to do. his campaign manager says believe what he says. i don't know what he said. >> the republican front-runner picking a fight with fox news channel in which fox has said that trump is terrorizing one of their employees, that's a strong charge. >> yes, but that's a new charge, right? look what happened last time he got in a fight with megyn kelly.

the fox people went over their way to try and make sure everyone's happy and they don't want to unsalt trump. they left megyn hanging out there for a couple days. it was a needy reaction to an out of place candidate. >> do you think this is a mistake, a turning point for trump. >> i've seen a lot of turning points that i thought was going to cost him and it hasn't. the way he makes up these things, i think it's going to wear thin over time. i've said since day one in this primary, it will take a long time. it's not going to be decided in the next two weeks. >> so far it's working for him. >> hard to win a caucus and in in primary and get more momentum. >> yes. >> thank you, rick davis. >> thank you. >> i know we'll see you again. thank you very much. bernie sanders says losing the iowa caucuses would be no tragedy. but a new poll of democrats out this morning shows him leading hillary clinton there by a four-point margin. in neighboring minnesota, more than 14,000 supporters showed up last night at a sanders rally in

st. paul. the vermont senator will meet with president obama this morning at the white house before returning to the iowa campaign. a deadly shootout in oregon overnight could help end the occupation of a federal wild life refuge by armed men. officers shot and killed the group's spokesman after a traffic stop. their leader, ammon bundy is among five people arrested by the fbi and oregon state police. >> three other members were arrested separately. it's not clear how many people are holed up at the malheur national wildlife refuge. carter evans is in burns, oregon. good morning. >> reporter: good morning. for weeks now, authorities have taken a hands off approach to this occupation. but that all changed on tuesday. bundy and his followers were headed to a town meeting when they were stopped by police. and it's unclear who fired first. this video shows fbi agents and police intercepting militant leader ammon bundy and several other militia members on an oregon highway, not far from

where they've occupied federal land since the start of the year. shots were fired, bundy was arrested and his brother ryan was shot but has nonlife-threatening injuries. >> this is about your freedom, to move about this country. >> reporter: lavoy finicum, a spokesman for the protesters was killed in the shootout. ammon bundy's father cliven spoke with k.o.in following his son's arrest. >> ryan bundy ha been shot in the arm, lavoy finicum had been murdered, cold-blooded murdered. >> reporter: finicum described a change in how authorities were approaching the 25-day occupation. >> they had become more hardened. when they stepped out of their vehicles now they're stepping out with their rifles. >> reporter: last night, heavily armed officers stood guard outside a hospital believed to be holding one of the militia members. at least eight people connected to the armed protest were arrested tuesday on federal felony charges of conspiracy to impede officers. >> this is the constitution.

that's what we're up here for, the constitution. >> reporter: on january 2nd bundy and his armed followers took control of the malheur national wildlife refuge. they claim the federal government is forcing ranchers to sell their land. >> why are you armed? >> we're serious about being here. we are serious about defending our rights and we are serious about getting things straightened out. >> reporter: kate brown stepped up pressure on federal authorities to end the occupation just days ago. >> the situation is absolutely intolerable. and it must be resolved immediately. >> reporter: as of right now, it's still unclear how many people are occupying the buildings in the refuge. we do know law enforcement has established a perimeter and road blocks and they're only allowing property owners in the area. >> interesting. carter, thanks. student in washington, d.c. this morning are heading back to school after last weekend's crippling snowfall. the federal government has also

re-opened the snow emergency in washington could be lifted today. parts the city are still packed with snow and struggling to clean up. four days after the blizzard. in new york crews are focusing on clearing side streets in hard-hit queens. more than 30 inches of snow fell there. president obama is calling for new test and treatments to stop the zika virus. the president was briefed by health and national security officials yesterday. the mosquito-born virus is linked to brain damage in babies. two new cases are confirmed in arkansas and california. that brings u.s. total to at least 18 in 8 different states. they have all involved travelers from recently returned from 1 of 24 countries and territories where the virus is transmitted. the list new includes the dominican republic and the u.s. virgin islands. a wisconsin man is under arrest accused of plotting a mass shooting. the fbi served samy mohamed hamzeh with illegally possessing

machine guns. investigators say he wanted to kill dozens of people in a masonic temple in milwaukee. federal agents were tipped off in september when hamzeh made plans to attack israelis in the west bank. the governor rick snyder met privately with the naacp, the civil rights group unveiled a proposal to handle lead in the water and help affected citizens. a adrianna diaz is with us. >> reporter: the naacp president told us the hour-long meeting was a frank conversation and the governor was remorseful. they met here at city hall with the mayor to discuss solutions to the water problems that aren't top down but involve the community. >> we have to talk about accountability. >> reporter: cornell brooks, the

head of the naac px called for a long-term solution in flint tuesday night. >> you have disproportionate number of black, brown and poor children subject to elevated lead, that's a problem that grows up, goes to junior high school and high school. >> reporter: part of the 15-point priority plan extends beyond repairing the water system. it suggests hiring youth to distribute water bottles instead of the national guard. officials are urging people to use bottled water and filters. for weeks, protesters have expressed outrage, saying they're still being billed for lead poisoned water. the city says as of august 7th there's been no disconnection of service for nonpayment. >> can't drink it, cook with it, bathe with it. >> reporter: according to a 2014 study a a flint newspaper flint

had the priciest water and sewer bills in genesee county, averaging $140 a month. at the elementary school tuesday, parents and their young kids lined up to be tested for lead. >> i'm really concerned. today is like a wakeup call being here, seeing how this all is. >> reporter: the governor will be back here at city hall later today to give an update on the water crisis. one of the topics we expect him to discuss is his request for additional federal aid to make sure that everyone here under the age of 21 has access to long-term health care no matter their income or insurance coverage. >> thank you so much. a state agency in california this morning accuses a gas company of negligence in a massive methane leak. it's suing the southern california gas company. the complaint blames the leak on the design, construction, operation and inspection of the well. thousands of residents in porter ranch have been forced from their home since the gas leak began in october.

an investigation reveals disturbing new details in the southern california jail break. three violent criminals who escaped friday got a big head start. guards didn't notice they were gone for about 16 hours. mireya villarreal is at the orange county jail in santa ana. good morning. >> reporter: we are learning more about the protocols in place here at the jail used to check and make sure that inmates are accounted for and how those protocols broke down last friday. >> you can be assured investigators are continuing to work tirelessly around the clock. >> reporter: as law enforcement worked day and night to locate the three escaped inmates, authorities wonder how mandatory day and night checks at the orange county men's central jail failed to reveal they were missing. >> the sheriff is extremely troubled by the length of time it took to determine the three inmates housed in a maximum security jail were unaccount for. >> reporter: officials now know the inmates escaped just after 5:00 a.m. head count.

but despite additional checks that were supposed to happen again at 11:00 a.m., 4:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m., the three men weren't reported missing until roughly 16 hours after they repelled to freedom from the jailhouse roof. >> the preliminary investigation into the escape and how it occurred has caused the sheriff concerns as to some of the jail inmate count practices and how they were conducted. >> reporter: jonathan tieu, bac duong and hossein nayeri are still on the run and considered armed and dangerous. the reward has been upped from 50,000 to $200,000 for their capture. >> we need people to come forward and provide information we know they have. >> reporter: officials say other escape that have happened in the '60s and '80s also happened with the roof in mind, which the sheriff admits is a design flaw. the associated press is reporting this morning that at least one of the men, bac duong was supposed to be deported back

to vietnam in 1998 for a crime he committed in the area. however, this is like thousands of other cases where federal authorities try and deport someone and their native country won't take them back. >> thank you. iran's president said better relations with the united states are possible if washington acts less hostile. rouhani toured the ancient coliseum in rome this morning. he met with pope francis tuesday at the vatican. the pope called on iran to help spread the spread of terrorism. rouhani says iran didn't request the cover-up of nude statues at a museum. abe vigoda, the long-time actor has died. >> tom, can you get me off the hook? for old time's sake. >> can't do it, sally. >> i remember that scene.

veterans charity failing to answer its own call to help our troops? chip reid continues his investigation into the wounded warrior project. amazon and netflix are snapping up movies from sundance. that is ahead. time to show you some of the morning's headlines from around the globe. "the washington post" says it might take decades for the united states to leave afghanistan. american troops were supposed to pull out by 2017. senior military officials are concerned the afghan government remains vulnerable to militant attacks, plus, al qaeda continues to build training camps. the detroit news reports on ford recalling 391,000 pickups after an airbag death. the recall covers rangers from 2004 through 2006 ranger pickup trucks. they have takata air bags. ford is aware of one death related to this.

a school district canceling classes today after a principal was killed saving students from a bus crash. jordan was with an elementary principal for 22 years. yesterday, a bus jumped the curb and jordan was hit after pushing several students out of the way. "the new york times" reports on a brain disease linking to repeated head trauma was found in a former new york giant who died. 27-year-old tyler sash died in september after an accidental overdose of painkillers. doctors found traumatic encephalopathy in his brain. it has been found in dozens of ex-nfl players but doctors say it was very advanced for someone of his age. "time" reports you soon won't need your atm card to get your money as long as you have a smartphone. atms will let you access your account from the chase smartphone app.

withdrawal limits increase to $3,000 and customers have their choice of new domination of bills. >> i like that. wounded warrior project is the nation's most recognizable veterans charity. the organization has invested heavily in fund-raising. the charity says this philosophy best positions it to carry out its stated mission to honor and empower wounded warriors. but, for the first time, wounded employees are talking about programs they say fall short. chip reid and our producer investigated this for us. chip is in washington. >> reporter: many service members have said wounded warrior projects programs have positively affected their lives. now, for the first time former employees of the charity, are speaking out about their concern that it is straying from its mission. >> the job. helping thousands of our warriors rebuild their lives is massive and growing every day. >> reporter: their commercials are easy to recognize and hard

to miss. >> with the pledge of $19 a month and you'll receive this wounded warrior project blanket. >> reporter: the charity is heavy in investment and fund-raising has paid off, bringing in more than $300 million in donations in 2014. retired army staff sergeant eric millette came home with a purple heart and along with a traumatic brain damage and ptsd. wounded warrior project enrolled him in their program that helps wounded warriors succeed. in 2013 the charity hired him as a public speaker. but millette quit last year. he said it's more like a fund-raising vehicle. >> they will tell you it's not, but it is. i began to see how an

organization that rakes in hundreds of millions of dollars a year, is not helping my brothers and my sisters or at least not all of them. >> reporter: cbs news has interviewed more than three dozen former employees of the wounded warrior project and nearly all of them have told us they are concerned that the organization has become more focused on raising money than on serving wounded veterans. many of those former staffers believe that after raising more than $1 billion since 2003, the charity should be providing more comprehensive services to wounded veterans. >> i think they want to show warriors a good time. i think they get these warriors out on these events, but where is the follow-up? >> reporter: these two former employees didn't want to show their faces, fearing retaliation. >> a lot of the warriors that i saw needed mental health treatment. they don't get that from the wounded warrior project. >> reporter: what happens when pyou make a suggestion that thee is a better way to serve veterans?

>> if you have a brain and you use your brain and come up with an idea, within a matter of time, you're off the bus. >> reporter: off the bus? >> they don't need you. it's their way or the highway. >> i would raise issues why don't we do follow-up and why don't we have any case management? >> reporter: how would they respond? >> we don't call warriors. warriors call us. >> reporter: they don't call warriors? >> warriors call them. again, as a disabled veterans, it just makes me sick. >> thank you. it's a pleasure to be here. >> reporter: wounded warrior project declined our repeated request to interview its ceo steven nardizzi but they offered this captain, its director of alumni. we have heard multiple times is that people go to -- to -- to soldier bike rides or project odyssey, and then they never hear from wounded warrior project again. is there mental health follow-up? >> wounded warrior project

contact wounded warriors multiple time over the course of the year. we contact each and every one of our wounded warriors on their birth month to be able to check in and see how they are doing and see if they need any of their programs and have multiple opportunities for them and us to pull up to see how they are doing. >> reporter: you read through five years -- mark owens of the irs. what was your biggest concern in reading these forms? >> that i couldn't tell the number of people that were assisted. i thought that was truly unusual. >> reporter: they do put some of those numbers on the website. >> yes, they do. >> reporter: what is the difference? >> signed under penalties of perjury. >> reporter: penalties of perjury? so you got to be careful? >> that's right. you have to be certain. >> reporter: erick millette expects retalltation from wounded warrior project but says that won't stop him. >> as a wounded veteran, i feel

other veterans need a voice. i'm in a position where i can be their vioice and i feel if i don't stand up and do weigh feel is right and voice their concerns and how i feel, then i'm leaving them behind. >> reporter: captain cools, the wounded warrior projects representative said donations are important to the charity and it is committing over 300 million dollars and in a partnership with four hospitals nationwide that will provide outpatient mental health services to post-911 veterans. >> we hope everybody does right by the veterans is what we hope. >> a lot of interesting questions there. an investigation sparked a tremendous response from veterans and still more to come. we will bring you the latest tonight on the "cbs evening news" with scott pelley. >> reporter: amazon and netflix on a spe

i'm charlie rose with gayle king and norah o'donnell. eight members of an armed group that took over federal wildlife refuge are behind bars after a deadly confrontation. leader ammon bundy and four followers were arrested by the fbi and oregon state police tuesday in a violent traffic stop. officers shot and killed the group's spokesman. >> three other members of the group were arrested separately, all eight face felony conspiracy charges. it's not clear how many people still occupy the malheur national wildlife refuge. carter evans is in burns, oregon with the latest. >> reporter: good morning. ammon bundy and his followers were headed to a town meeting when they were stopped by police. it's unclear at this point who shot first. bundy was arrested, his brother ryan was shot but he has nonlife-threatening injuries. fbi sources confirm lavoy finicum, a spokesman-to-the protesters war killed in a shootout. finicum said authorities had

become more hardened recently. last night, heavily armed officers stood guard outside a hospital believed to be holding one of the militia members. at least eight people connected to the arms protest were arrested on a felony charge of conspiracy to impede officers. now in january 2nd, bundy and his armed followers took over the malheur wildlife national refuge, accusing the federal government of forcing ranchers to sell their land. as of right now it's unclear exactly how many militia members are occupying the buildings inside the refuge. but law enforcement has established a perimeter around the area. they've also put road blocks in place. and they're only allowing property owners to come inside. >> carter, thank you so much. donald trump's campaign says the last prime time debate before the iowa caucuses is a bad deal. so the republican front-runner plans to boycott the aevent. trump was asked if he was afraid of facing difficult questions. >> no, no, no, excuse me. just so you understand.

i've done six debates. i've done six. according to every single poll, i've won every single debate. the republicans go on forever and ever and ever with debates. we have people on the stand that have zero, that have one, that have nothing. so it's time that somebody plays grown-up. >> fox news which is airing tomorrow night's debate says trump dropped out because of moderator megyn kelly. >> the channel says it will not give into threats including one from trump's campaign manager. he stated that megyn had a rough couple of days after the last debate and he'd hate for her to go through that again. ted cruz has challenged him to a one-on-one debate. >> apparently megyn kelly is really, really scary. and he doesn't want to be at a debate where megyn might say mean things to her. if you're scared of megyn kelly,

how exactly do you think you're going to stand up to hillary clinton much less vladimir putin? >> that's a question. major garrett is in des moines recovering the republican campaign. we heard from trump supporters in your piece at 7:00. you're on the ground this morning. what are you hearing. >> reporter: we talked about 12 trump supporters at an event north of here, not a comprehensive sample, i grant you but the conversations did reveal something important about the way trump supporters see this candidate. they trust his instincts. whatever decisions he makes they believe will ultimately work to their benefit. so they don't care necessarily if he participates in the debate or not. however, we met one man, joe cooper, a presnkt captain for trump. he doesn't need to see him on the debate stage but wondered whether or not it would be important for other people that he needs to mobilize to see trump on that stage and hear the final argument. that's one of variables we'll have to watch as this moves forward.

>> trump has tried to campaign as an anti-establishment candidate. but will picking a fight with fox news benefit him or backfire? >> reporter: trump has played the anti-establishment card throughout this campaign but this move feels much more like a nonconformist move, something that trump is doing on his own that shakes up the entire known process of politics. it also plays into something he talks to his supporters about all the time. if he feels treated unfairly, he's going to strike a better deal. this goes to the heart of trump's appeal. many supporters feel washington treats them unfairly, politicians ignore them. trump is taking on those feelings generally and saying i will cut a better deal for you. one of the important things about where this gambit ultimately lands, if his supporters did believe trump did in fact cut a better deal for him and them. >> major, thanks. cbs news will bring you awe debate with the republican candidates from south carolina next month. see is on february 13th at 6:00 p.m. pacific time right here on

♪ in our morning rounds, a new focus on screening for depression.

an influential panel of experts says all adults should be tested. our dr. holly phillips is here. good morning. this is significant. why this call? >> it really is. it's a major statement. but honestly, i don't think the task force had much of a choice. they really had to spotted to this onslaught of evidence that shows maternal depression is far more common than we previously thought. the report states that 9% of pregnant women, 10% of new moms will experience episodes of depression, of major depression. and also some cases of what we thought was postpartum depression actually started during pregnancy or before. there was a real outcry, this is something that needs to be prioritized and screened for. >> why is it especially dangerous for expectant mothers and new mothers in particular? >> for pregnant women who are experiencing depression, there is an increase risk of suicide

or harming the baby but much more commonly it's just that depressed women don't take good care of themselves. less likely to do prenatal visits or take vitamins or eat well. beyond that there can be a long-term impact on children born to mothers who were depressed during pregnancy or after. there are emotional and behavioral issues and can track performance in schools years later. >> depressed mothers may be involved in substance abuse. >> the report did point out that sometimes women feel so isolated they don't want to ask for help. they start to self-medicate with sub stastances can ultimately h the baby. >> how do you know the depression is so significant that you should seek help? >> one of the biggest hurdles with this and why the task force recommendations are so important, pregnant women who are depressed feel -- depression

♪ ♪ "consumer reports" takes on natural food labeling and a story just out this morning. the magazine survey found more than 60% of americans buy products labeled natural but two-thirds believe natural means more than it does. and for processed foods. the label offers no clear meaning. the director of consumer safety and sustainability at "consumer reports" and she joins us at the table. i believe we heard this before and you said we have but what?

>> the food and drug administration is finally going to open up a comment period and hear what the public has to stay about this problem. >> because it says natural doesn't always mean natural. >> that is right. consumers think it means no artificial ingredients or colors. no gmos, for example. no pesticides. for meat they think it means no drugs that the animals were raised outside and led some sort of natural life and it doesn't mean any of that. >> what are examples of products that are labeled natural that may not be so? >> in our "consumer reports" story out today, we feature seven different products and february is a month of products we are going to feature. the first product is del monte fruit naturals which contains artificial preservatives like sodium benzoate and you can use a natural label. another product is wesson oil. it's often soy bean or canola or

♪ the road to super bowl 50 is very exciting for the players and their families too. while the broncos and the panthers prepare for what happens on the field. the players families are dealing with logistical challenges including ticket requests from everybody they know and their cat. dana jacobson spoke with three super bowl wives to see what the next week and a half will be like from the inside. dana, good morning. >> reporter: good morning. the teams do a great job of protecting the players and managing expectations from the

media but it's the wives of super bowl-bound athletes who often have to manage everything else. as we learned from these veterans of the game, holding it together when the world is watching isn't as easy as it looks. super bowl week is like what? >> it's like somebody says you have to plan a wedding in about ten days and you're praying the whole time it doesn't turn into a funeral. am i wrong? lisa mccaffrey and brittany brees are married to super bowl champions and all played a key role in the days before the game. >> you're kind of the gatekeeper, so to speak. so you're protecting your husband and making sure no added stress is put on his plate so you're making everyone has hotel rooms and tickets and everyone is happy. >> you're like maintaining, you know, a good face for everyone that week. so all of that you kind of just take on saying, i got this part. you just go play football. >> as a wife, you're trying to

stay as calm as you can for your husband. somehow, you feel, since you have no control, that that is the one thing you can control, are your own emotions. >> but what are you actually thinking? >> you want to throw up! >> reporter: what what is the memory have you from the super bowl people might be surprised to hear? >> oh, gosh. i know that the day of the game, drew and i personally laid in the room and watched a movie, which was so stressful, because, you know, you have all of these emotions going through you but you're trying to hold it all in and pretend nothing is wrong, this is great, this is just everyday. it's a night game. >> a night game, yeah! >> just a night game, average game. >> what do you want to eat for breakfast tomorrow? >> what did you watch? >> it was "major league." >> reporter: his request or yours? >> it was on tv. the only one that was tv. >> ed mccaffrey is so big and strong. >> reporter: ed won two super bowls. one with san francisco and two

with denver. how about your first super bowl week compared to the third super bowl week you went through? >> my goons. i know being incredibly young and just had a baby and wide-eyed and just overwhelmed. but by the third one, you sort of have it down a little better and you know, okay, i'm not bringing my 1-year-old who can't sit still. i'm leaving him home with a babysitter but i'll bring the older ones that can handle a full four-hour game. so you kind of get a little wiser. >> brittany, you brought a 1-year-old. >> i did. >> you helped to create this iconic picture that everybody thinks of when they think of certainly the saints winning the super bowl. >> i remember holding the baby and my mom is running with me. you don't know where you are. confetti is flying everywhere and it's just this overwhelming kind of experience. i handed the baby to drew really kind of savely. just get him out of the situation. and seeing him just hold him, it gets emotional so easy! why am i getting emotional on

this? >> unlike brittany, it was like the perfect iconic picture with little boy wearing the cute headphones protecting his ears. we were throwing kids over the side. there is no tunnel, no organized path. there was a picture in "sports illustrated" one of my kids just by himself running on the field, no parents anywhere! and he was way too young to be by himself. that was our parenting. yeah, parents failed yet again. it was a little more chaotic. >> kristen you had the opposite end of emotions. what was it like waiting in the tunnel and then you don't get the outcome that you want? >> right. so that season, it was a perfect season. >> kristen and benjamin watson were engaged when he won his first super bowl and married when he played in his second, which lost to the patriots in 2008. >> benjamin watson, the intended receiver. >> i was like i think we are going to win so i'm just going to jump this wall! >> brady. >> then for us, the ball dropped.

>> down field. bro broken up! >> i was thinking, no, this is not how it's supposed to end. we don't know what it feels like to lose this season and the clock is ticking down. you're just realizing that we are not going to on the field. you see one team celebrating and one team just devastated. >> if you could give a piece of advice to the women who are embarking upon super bowl week and their families, what would that be? >> i would say live in the moment. try to soak it in and appreciate it and don't worry so much. >> i would even say the things that seem super important really aren't that important. >> i wish i could go back and enjoy it. i think that is probably my only regret of the entire time is, you know, you're so concerned with making sure everyone else is okay, but you don't get a second to take a deep breath and enjoy it. it's all a blur. you just don't get a second to kind of just realize just what

happened. >> while brittany and kristen are hopeful to get to the super bowl, lisa is hoping her son gets to the football. that is christian mccaffrey at 2. he is a running back at stanford and runner-up for the heisman trophy and his older brother max wore his dad's number while he was at duke and he is entering the draft this year and a lot of talk he could be a late round pick. >> intrigue! >> the wives play such a key role. i love it. they took us there with your interview, dana. do they get anything? i know the guys get the big ginormous rings. >> they get a smaller version of the ring or a pendant. like the guys who pull it out come super bowl time they don't wear it around. brittany brees doesn't want to wear it because drew is still playing and feels she will hold off. >> great interview. really great. >> great women.
