one 49er and one raider going to the hall of fame. >> the story is just writing itself, isn't it? >> perfect, perfect. >> it's just terrific stuff. hey, on nfl honors night, it doesn't matter what award is handed out tonight. there's just nothing bigger than the announcement of the 2016 pro football hall of fame class. out of this one, boy, in he had only been around -- >> put together a defense for me actually called the eagle defense. and in 1988, my -- >> this is a live picture of a press conference going on. this is after the pro football hall of fame class has been announced. it was headlined by brett favre of the green bay packers but locally, boy, if only he had been around for this one. the raiders! ken stabler. he is in! yeah. ten of his 15 seasons, he engineered some of the greatest moments, great comebacks of the raiders team of the 1970s won

super bowl xi. he was a 1974 nfl mvp. hey, at 49ers empire, say hello to eddie debartolo, jr., finally going in. the 9ers owner for all five super bowl titles. [ applause ] >> there he is. he changed nfl ownership, spares no expense to take care of his players. so much that there was great demand by other free agents to want to play in san francisco. there's a clip of the parade from 1981 after they won their first super bowl title. was he fiery? was he emotional? you bet! but there was none better than eddie debartolo, jr. >> just thinking about being in canton with these icons, for what you've tried to do with your life in this great sport of football, is just beyond comprehension to me. i'm honored. i'm humbled. and, um, i -- i don't know what

think it should be a good football game. i think denver's defense can do something early to rattle campbell a bit, it should be a great game. but i think the carolina panthers are going to win. >> you know how they are feeling the night before the big game. that's what like? you get to smile and have fun. >> there's a lot on their minds. the number one thing is the fact that all the hoopla and party for them is over! it's all about business. it's the game tomorrow. not the super bowl, it is the game. >> whoo. what a red carpet it was. hope you enjoyed it and i hope you enjoy the show tonight at 9:00. we'll see you then. on the red carpet, i'm juliette goodrich. here's a live look now at super bowl city. so many people, take a look at this, the gates close at 3:00 this afternoon. everybody excited to see the big concert. >> oh, yeah. kpix 5 reporter emily turner is out in the crowd tonight. hi, emily. >> reporter: hey, guys. it is a great time inside the gates. outside the gates is a totally different story. in fact, just 15 minutes before we went to air i went to check

on the gate and three hours after they shut them down they were finally pushing people away from the gates saying, it is closed for good. >> exit only, no re-entry. >> reporter: it's an nfl neverland. once you leave super bowl city, you can't come back of the and no one new is allowed inside, either. >> definitely frustrating. we feel kind of helpless right now. >> reporter: the gates closed around 3 p.m. leaving thousands still standing in line to spill into the street and cause additional closures. the gate closure also left lorena cast at thenated da's sister on the wrong side of the barricade to go to the alicia keys concert. >> it ruined it for us. it ruined the experience. we were excited to be out here and, you know, enjoying the family time. but then this happened. >> reporter: this happened last night, as well. gates closed just after 8:00. and officers sent 5,000 people left in the street many

shouting angrily. they rushed one entrance and about 100 people broke through before police could bring in backup. in the meantime, the venues today is warning those who made it inside to make their way to the concert before the city stage act against closes, as well. >> if you want to go to the concert, go now because it will be packed. >> reporter: obviously, the folks who weren't able to get into super bowl city were disappointed. some of them were upset. but i talked to captain lazar and he said there have been no arrests and everyone seems to be taking it well which he says he attributes to the large police presence that they have down here. we'll be showing you that later on tonight, as well. live from super bowl city, emily turner, kpix 5. from super bowl city to levi's stadium, it's empty now but tomorrow all 68,000 seats will be filled. >> you better know it. kpix 5 reporter maria medina is outside levi's stadium right now. it's it final countdown. >> reporter: yeah. less than 24 hours to super

bowl 50 and what do we do? we follow the players, of course. we got to see them for the very last time before they hit the field tomorrow. >> go! >> reporter: as fans arrived to the bay area like the horsemen, a group of die-hard broncos fans who traveled more than 900 miles for the game. >> we get together every weekend rain, snow or shine, on game day. >> reporter: the finishing touches are also happening behind the scenes. chopper 5 captured crews spray- painting the nfl logo on the 50- yard line and this the broncos final walk through as players went over scenarios on the field. look closely and see peyton manning. >> we just need four more quarters out of him. whatever he decides to do after that, it doesn't matter. >> reporter: if tomorrow is peyton manning's last game told the media all week he has been soaking it all n today the players' families also boarded buses this morning to join the team on the field for pictures.

bay area celebrations are in full swing as the clock winds down to kickoff for super bowl 50. >> we're coming after you. cam newton! we're coming after you, boy! [ laughter ] >> reporter: all right. so we don't want you to think that we forgot about the panthers. this picture tweeted out by the coach's daughter of the entire team during their walk-through today. that's cam newton's signature move. back out here live at levi's stadium, you know, i got to tell you, there's so much excitement out here in the air. a lot of people walking around, taking pictures. it's not super bowl city, not as crazy as that. but it will get crazy here tomorrow. this is just a preview of what's to come. live at levi's stadium, maria medina, kpix 5. >> thank you. elsewhere in santa clara, it is a super party. kpix 5's devin fehely is the asanta clara university. >> reporter: it's a perfect day today with perfect weather and the fans that came out for this day long celebration say it was

really the perfect warmup for tomorrow's super bowl. the countdown to kickoff in santa clara unfolded in dramatic fashion. even the celebrity flag football game ended with a last-second "hail mary" pass. some of the biggest names in the world of sports and entertainment were center stage for the game. >> good game. good game. >> reporter: like rapper ludacris and other players. >> it's a beautiful atmosphere and we should have a great game. look at this weather. this is football weather. >> reporter: in addition to the flag football game, fans were treated to a series of free concerts, food trucks and other activities as the excitement builds towards game day. >> it's close and exciting and we are part of it and involved. it's awesome. >> the whole world focus is right here right now. it's awesome.

>> reporter: the city of santa clara and fans basking tonight in the spotlight of the sports world's biggest stage. >> reporter: fans are still lining up for a concert that starts in a short time. that's with huey lewis and the news and it will be followed by fireworks. in santa clara, devin fehely, kpix 5. what happens when you get some of the best chefs in america under one roof? >> kpix 5 reporter betty yu is on the red carpet at the taste of the nfl with that answer. betty. >> reporter: hey, guys. you get a megaparty. but we're not just talking about big name chefs. we're talking about celebrities and nfl stars, as well. it's called taste of the nfl. we're here on the red carpet right now. we don't see any celebrities at this moment. but walk with me. we're going to take you inside for a quick moment. so tonight is the biggest charitable party happening here super bowl weekend. it's really the only one that's

dedicated to such a cause. everybody here will be trying out some fine foods from 32 chefs at least from every nfl city. they are going to be meeting players as well from all of the nfl teams. everybody here is also waiting to see the sf band third eye blind. they will be the entertainment for the night. we are walking you right now into the cow palace. they have completely dressed up this venue for this occasion. you can see memorabilia on the left. and in the center, basically all the money raised tonight, 100% of the proceeds will benefit communities across the country food banks and organizations including those here in the bay area. earlier tonight i spoke with actress alyssa milano. take a listen. what speaks to you about it? >> i just can't believe that children go to bed hungry in this country. it's unacceptable to me. and i love this event because it raises an awareness, um,

anticipation building at the city stage. you can see alicia keys live at cbssf.com. look at all folks waiting 90 minutes before she takes the stage. it's a packed house and party already before the music even begins. current conditions concord 61. oakland 64. livermore 59. 61 in san francisco. san jose 59. and santa rosa 58 degrees. tonight 40s. super bowl city 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., it will be a fantastic day tomorrow. 67 degrees will be your temperature tomorrow afternoon in san francisco. that's extremely mild for the 7th day of february. the storm track is well to the north. the warmest day is going to be monday. but man, that's a huge ridge of high pressure which will center itself right over northern california. as we roll through the next 48 to 72 hours. we are mostly clear tonight with breezy conditions in the hills. it will be sunny and warm on super bowl sunday. and likely will remain dry.

comebacks. eight total were investigated. eddie debartolo junior the long wait is over after a 50-minute discussion with the committee and get this the discussion of brett favre took six seconds. carolina panthers battle cry is keep pounding. quarterback cam newton, he is adamant about being himself. not afraid of showing his lack of patience this week with the media core. >> why are you wearing socks with sandals? >> why are you wearing jeans with shoes? >> off the field the panthers are loose. some have criticized the swagger particularly from newton. nfl network eric davis thinks this issue goes a little deeper. >> i think part of that is racial. i really do. i think mainly, people just old. and they don't get -- it's a
