with 60 counts of murder. >> reporter: 45-year-old jason dalton picked his victims at random. killing six and seriously injuring two others, he began at an apartment complex in a kalamazoo and killed a 17-year- old and his father at a car dealership. and gunned down four women at a cracker barrel. surveillance video led to his arrest sunday morning. he's a former insurance adjustor and father of two. he's been arraigned as investigators search for a motive. >> there's no connection that we're aware of between the victims or any of the victims to mr. dalton. >> dalton had no criminal history before the rampage and he passed a background check. he may have picked up passengers during the shooting spree. mark-- and his friends say they

today. they'll begin paints transit only lanes bright red between 30th and cesar chavez. the work will be done between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. and overnight on the weekends. a typically gridlocked stretch of i-580 in the tri- valley. a westbound express lane opened this morning. two eastbound lanes opened up on friday. it's free to carpools, van pools, and motor vehicles with a special tag. drivers can use the fast track flex toll tag. and solo drivers can pay with regular transponders. the new lanes run all the way through livermore. and express lanes will operate weekdays from 5 a.m. to 8 p.m. a billboard on a busy stretch has been stirring some controversy. a purple sign in walnut creek displayed a message about the amount of money the united
