>> doppler shows the heaviest rainfall passed through over the last few hours. the showers are starting to taper off. scattered showers around the bay and a closer look at some of the heaviest rain right now. moderate rain moving through san mateo. up north sonoma saying light to moderate showers there. even farther north seeing some heavy rainfall. this is an area we are keeping a close eye on. we have a flood warning in effect. we could see some flooding their and highway 20 -- 128 is likely to be flooded. flash flood watches effect for most of north bay and then southeastern portion we could see heavy rain at times

flooding possible. urban flooding is what we are talking about. we are seeing impressive totals nearly one in three quarters inch in sonoma. san francisco over 1 1/2 inches over the last 24 hours. san jose over one half inch. the southeastern portions of santa clara county in santa cruz county are in advisory's. we will talk about how much more rain we will say. the changes in the forecast. the sinkhole at wayne boulevard and center street has caused a break in a gas line. it happened at 2:30 pm in by 5 pm the sinkhole had gotten bigger and swallowed part of a traffic signal. that is believed to have called the rupture -- interruption. 450 have been evacuated. we do have a crew on the way.

downpours today led to evacuations in the south bay and more than 150 people were ordered to leave the thousand trails campground. they cleared everyone out as a precaution as reports of the creek overflowing. no word on when campers will be allowed back in. along the coast the waves are concerning. there is a high surf advisory. even the warnings are enough to keep some way. >> this is great. we are at the beach. >> katie stoner of salt lake city says she is happy to be out of the snow. >> it's not beach weather. >> at ocean beach the waves are choppy and they are powerful. the national weather service says the swells can result in beachgoers being swept into the ocean.

crash on 680 your sycamore valley road in danville. for cars were involved in one of them completely mangled. two lanes were shut down. the driver of this garbage truck lost control smashed through guardrail and slated down an embankment. if it went any further could have slammed into a house below. the driver has minor injuries. sonoma county a driver stalled out as he tried to get through a flooded area. the man pushed his car out and called for two truck. the relentless rain has forced some people to evacuate their homes. slow-moving landslide has their homes teetering on a cliff. the soil is eroding and a huge chunk of the foundation is already sliding away. it looks like any moment these homes could tumble into the creek below. one homeowner is trying to salvage as much as he can. >> i just spent last night at a

neighbors house and we will have to figure out where we will go for the short-term. >> he owns the land behind his home. they can only monitor the situation. it has become a familiar sound as we get more rain and more wind. crews used chainsaws to help remove this massive pine tree that came down on highway 1 near jenner. the freeway were shut down for hours. all lanes are now back open. steady rain today is keeping the russian river flowing. the water is within its banks and it is expected to crest just over 25 feet tomorrow. flood stage is 32 feet. here is a live look at the flights that are delayed. nearly 20 flights were canceled today. still head, an emotional subject for many families.

when somebody is facing the end of their life, shouldn't they be in control? shouldn't i be able to help them? >> maine arts husband also spoke with 60 minutes. he described her final moments. and earlier this week we talked with the doctor about the impact. >> perhaps this is a way to open the door and it is difficult to talk about it. it is so difficult and emotional and people come at it through their own criticism. trying to figure out what is the experience of the end-of- life? we have never been able to speak with somebody after they die. there's some doctors who really think of death as a failure. >> california will become the fifth state with the right to die law. you can see the entire story at 7 pm tonight.

heavier showers over the santa cruz mountains. keep in mind for the southeastern portion and for parts of santa cruz county we are seeing a flood advisory. most of the rain is falling there with a flood watch. temperatures outside her mild and we do have gray skies and the importance. as he moves on to the evening and into tomorrow these showers will taper off and we will start to see high pressure build. temperatures well into the 70s by thursday. lingering showers for the remainder of the night. the morning commute will have a few lingering showers. we could see some spots on the roads 9 am. through your day we start to dry out. breezy conditions in san ramon.
