in syria. it's not clear how the isis leader was killed but officials say the takedown is significant because he was involved in overseeing the group's finances. >> now we have taken out the leader who oversees all the funding for isil's operations hurting their ability to pay fighters and hire recruits. >> secretary of defense says another finance minister killed this week was responsible for some external affairs and plots. and isis has claimed responsibility for the bombings in belgium. police continue the manhunt for two of the men involved. kenneth craig has the latest from brussels. >> reporter: ongoing raids in belgium have netted at least 6 arrests linked to tuesday's airport and subway bombings. police approached one man who was sitting with a young girl at this bus stop. >> told him to stop. he tried to do something, boom, boom, two shots. >> reporter: other raids like this one in brussels may also be connected to last year's bombing attacks in paris which have been linked to this week's attacks in belgium.

members of law enforcement are looking for two people, one seen with the two suicide bombers at the airport and the other seen with the bomber at the subway station. at least two americans are among the dead, but their identities haven't been released. separately, cbs news has confirmed dutch siblings sascha and alexander pinczowski who lived in new york were killed. >> mason wells is a 19-year-old mormon missionary who was severely burned in the airport bombing. >> i was covered in blood, not necessarily mine. >> reporter: u.s. secretary of state john kerry laid a wreath in brussels. >> we'll continue to provide any assistance necessary in investigating these heinous acts of terrorism. >> reporter: at least 10 fbi agents are in brussels to help with the investigation. kenneth craig, cbs news, brussels, belgium. >> four people are in custody

in hayward and one still at large in connection with a home invasion last night at an apartment complex on barry avenue. police chased a car speeding away and it crashed. four people from the car were taken into custody including one placed into an ambulance. one man got away. police aren't sure why the suspects targeted that apartment. >> the suspects were looking for something inside of this house and, um, you know, these things aren't very often random. so we do believe that this suspect or suspects had targeted this house specifically. >> three guns and some marijuana were found near the crashed car. three people were inside the apartment at the time. a trial continues today for a former stanford university swimmer oo accused of sexual assault. brock turner's lawyers say the woman involved consented to the sex and today they are calling character witnesses. others say they saw turner thrusting his body against a motionless woman behind a

fraternity house in january of last year. turner says he and the woman had been kissing and that she consented to go further. later his blood alcohol level was found to be twice the legal limit. well, after months ofly that, bay area crab fisherman are finally allowed to set their traps or the coast and there's a catch but not a good one. that's after months of delay. kpix 5's jackie ward explains. >> you will never recover what you lost this season, never. >> reporter: angel's family has been in the san francisco crab business for decades. the fish company is a staple of fisherman's wharf. she says this season has been hard and she is being cautiously optimistic that things will turn around and these tanks will be spilling over with bay area crab in a matter of days. >> being as we have all lost so much, this had better be very quick. >> it's really frustrating. >> reporter: a crabber has the same hope and is ready to get back to doing what he loves but isn't rushing into it. he is waiting for the department of fish & wildlife

to complete the meat quality testing of the crab so he won't fish until tuesday even though technically fishermen were allowed to drop their pots at 6:01 a.m. >> we're all hanging together. nobody wants to go out there and be the only guy in the ocean. that's how you make enemies. we'll wait for the quality test even though it's -- we're starving. >> reporter: even when crabbers do get back to business, there's some concern over what kind of crab they will be getting so late in the season. >> you're working with mother nature. you have to look at how to salvage what you can. >> reporter: the general consensus on the docks is that everyone is ready to move on from all the bad pr the industry got these last few months and give the people what they want, crab caught off our coast, not oregon or washington. so although crabs can legally be harvested starting at 12:01 saturday morning it will be another week until we can enjoy those dungeness bay area crabs. in san francisco, jackie ward,

kpix 5. bart is suspending service this weekend on part of the fremont line for track maintenance that. shutdown happens between the san leandro and bay fair stations. workers will replace more than 2,000 feet of worn rail. more than 900 railroad ties as well as switches and other components will be repaired or replaced. that work will continue or weekends through june 6. bart says once it's finished passengers will experience a safer and quieter ride. >> we're doing major repair work on this section of track and providing a free bus bridge between san leandro and bay fair station during those weekend track closures. >> and to the east of that, bart is continuing to run shuttle trains between the north concord and bay point stations. passengers heading in either direction must transfer at north concord. well, the raiders got a new lease on life. and on real estate. at the coliseum. but it's only for a year. coliseum joint powers authority approved a one-year extension. the raiders will pay $3.5 million in rent just about

triple what they were paying last year. the deal still needs approval from alameda county supervisors and the oakland city council. it would keep the raiders in oakland through at least the upcoming season with an option for up to two more years. new at noon, san francisco mayor ed lee is reacting to a new law in north carolina that overturns protections for members of the lgbt community. lee said in a statement, we are standing united as san franciscans to condemn north carolina's new discriminatory law that turns back the clock on protecting the rights of all americans including lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender individuals. he is barring and ordering any city employees from travel to north carolina unless it is essential to public health and say. nine people some still in high school are behind bars in georgia charged with murder after a big street fight caught on camera. a teenager who wasn't even involved was killed. cbs reporter david begnaud on the punishment the young people could be facing. >> come on!

>> reporter: new video surfaced this week showing how the brutal street fight quickly spiraled out of control. it happened last friday in a small town in georgia. >> reporter: a witness said it involved between 30 and 50 people. some wielding baseball bats and knives. [ screaming ] >> reporter: it escalated after the driver of this dark sedan jumped a curb and nearly ran over people standing in a yard. 18-year-old [ non-english language ] who police say was not involved in the fight was accidentally stabbed in the neck by a friend. 21-year-old dimitrius. he died at a hospital. >> we are going to show you that every person who was involved in this type of foolish behavior are going to be charged with the most severe crime we can possibly charge them with. >> reporter: and the sheriff did. he arrested and charged nine individuals involved in the

brawl with aggravated assault and felony murder. and authorities are still looking for a tenth suspects, eddie carter iii. the nine people arrested and charged with murder have been arraigned in court and as of friday morning were still in jail. it's worth noting that if convicted of murder, all nine including the young people who were still in high school will serve a life sentence in prison according to georgia law. david begnaud, cbs news, augusta, georgia. apple wants a federal judge to delay an iphone data case in brooklyn. the prosecutors there want to get data from a drug dealer's phone and at the same time here in california, investigators want to get into that phone used by one of the san bernardino shooters as you know. on monday, the government said that it might be able to unlock that phone without apple's help. and now apple is asking the judge in brooklyn to postpone all case deadlines until the fbi reports back in california. that's supposed to happen april 5. while much of the recent talk on the campaign trail has

been focused on terrorism, the republicans now find themselves in the middle of a very different debate. donald trump and ted cruz engaged in a twitter battle not about policies but about their wives. here's cbs' chip reid. >> isn't heidi going to make an amazing first lady? >> yeah! >> reporter: ted cruz struck a softer tone last night after spending all day lashing out at donald trump for comments about his wife, heidi. >> it's not easy to tick me off. i don't get angry often. but you mess with my wife you mess with my kids that will do it every time. donald, you're' sniveling coward and leave heidi the hell alone! >> reporter: the war of words and photos began with this ad on tuesday from an anti-trump super pac showing a naked "gq" photo of melania trump. the gop front-runner accused crews of being behind it and he retweeted this showing the wives, the images are worth

the colosseum in rome. earl he delivered a good frid in about an hour pope francis will take part in the way of the cross procession around the coliseum in rome. earlier he gave a good friday sermon at st. peter's basilica on the vatican youtube's page streaming live. tonight a the rolling stones will play in cuba for the first time. the band arrived yesterday in havana. organizers say the group's live performance could draw more than a million people into the

streets of the cuban capital. this is the last stop on the stones' latin-american tour. their gig tonight caps off an historic month for cuba, one that saw its first visit by a sitting american president in almost a century. there's a dam in the middle of your data stream and netflix is admitting that it slowed down data streams on purpose. the "wall street journal" reports that netflix slowed down video speeds on mobile networks to protect consumers from excessive data charges. it's a practice known as throttling. netflix says it's been doing it for five years. the los gatos-based company plans to unveil a new app in may that will give customers more control over how much data they use when they're streaming stuff on their mobile networks. it's not just about flashy sports cars anymore. the new york international auto show opens to the public today and kris van cleave shows us new car technology is in the spotlight. >> reporter: to make headlines on the auto show on the world's

vehicles become part of the internet, we'll be an information company. >> reporter: information abounds on the tablet sized displays inside new vehicles from entry level to high-end luxury. cnet's tim stevens. can you successfully launch a car now that doesn't integrate with a phone and all of that technology that we carry with us? >> it's hard to imagine a modern car having any kind of success without the ability to talk to our mobile devices because they are a huge important part of our lives. >> reporter: a researcher for the aaa safety foundation insists with all the tech in cars comes distraction. studies show a driver's eyes leave the road for an average of 5 seconds to send a text message at highway speeds covering a football field by the time you hit "send." >> the temptation is to think that just because it's in the car it's safe to use it. that's just not so. i think we need to really tread carefully when we are introducing new technologies into the vehicle because some of that may actually compromise safety on the road. >> reporter: kris van cleave, new york. we have a gorgeous day under way in the bay area right

now with plenty of sunshine and temperatures due to hit the low 70s by the time all is said and done. going to be warmer tomorrow. and easter sunday looks good, as well. looking live toward levi's stadium where beyonce will be singing in may. anne has already gotten her tickets. of 66 at concord. 61 at oakland. 63 at livermore. 64 for san francisco. and santa rosa at 66. high pressure is going to be building in over the next couple of days. as a result, we're going to be looking at numbers coming up gently tomorrow. it will be a little warmer tomorrow. then on sunday it cools down a bit with a few high clouds. dry through the weekend. and then things change. by the middle of next week, late wednesday early thursday, we have unsettled weather and rain in the bay area by then. in the meantime it looks nice. could be a mix of rain and snow at tahoe by sunday but tomorrow

is okay with temperatures in the low 50s and mostly sunny skies. alpine meadows no new snow but a base of 152 inches up top with packed powder. tomorrow mostly clear skies and temperatures this afternoon will manage near 70 degrees for cupertino, los gatos and morgan hill and san jose. east bay a little warmer low 70s will do it with temperatures up in the north bay warmth. 72 in santa rosa. extended forecast nice weekend. warm tomorrow. by wednesday and thursday might get a little wet which almost sounds like winter even though it's not. >> speaking of winter, it's
