names until they are absolutely sure. >> elaine cobb, thanks a lot. yesterday, police clashed with right wing demonstrators in brussels. kenneth craig has more on that and the investigation. >> reporter: good morning. for the first time since these attacks, we saw tensions here in brussels really come to a head, as angry demonstrators came face-to-face with authorities who have been criticized for not doing enough to prevent these attacks. dutch police arrested a frenchman in this rotterbam neighborhood for allegedly plotting an attack in france. belgian police carried out more than a dozen raids on sunday linked to terrorism but authorities did not say whether they were connected to last week's bombings. 31 people were killed and at

least 270 others injured. at the memorial for the victims, police in riot gear used water cannons to push back angry demonstrators, including hundreds of right wing so-called hooligans. this woman broke down in tears as they trampled through a shrine. >> we have to unite and show we are against them. >> reporter: mourners in the crowd were visually shaken by their presence. >> they want to stop terrorism but not doing it the right way. >> reporter: a heavy military police is still presence in brussels after those violent clashes. authorities have also blocked off some of the city's streets. people have been coming here since last tuesday's attacks as a sign of solidarity and to pay their respects. >> i am not scared. i'm from brussels. i will never be scared. never. >> reporter: on sunday, belgian's interior minister knitted that decades of neglect

hurt the country's response to terrorism and the justice department and security forces are falling short. back to you. a faction of the taliban says it's responsible for an easter suicide bombing in pakistan that killed at least 65 people. many of the victims were children. another 300 were wounded in the eastern pakistani city of lahore. the bomb went off near children's rides and a park crowded with people celebrating easter. they say they targeted the christian school and schools and businesses in lahore are closed today. facebook apologized for a glitch that sent a safety check to users following the pakistan bombing. a safety check lets users to signal friends they are safe following an event like a bombing. yesterday's glitch sent the safety check notification asking if they were okay to users around the world. during his easter address, pope francis denounced terrorism and remembered victims of attacks in europe, africa, and

elsewhere. tens of thousands packed st. peters square to hear the pope. in his speech he cited recent attacks in brussels and elsewhere. the race to the white house. bernie sanders his campaign is riding high after beating hillary clinton in three states over the weekend. meanwhile, the republicans are sparring over how to stop terrorism. don champion is here in new york. don, good morning. >> reporter: good morning. foreign policy will likely be a dominant issue on the campaign trail this week as candidates focus their attention on the next big primary next tuesday. two republican contenders are also locked in a new battle over a state that already voted -- louisiana. donald trump is crying foul again. this time, threatening a lawsuit over ted cruz trying to grab delegates in louisiana. >> i won louisiana and now i hear he is trying to steal delegates. you know, welcome to the republican party. what is going on in the republican party is a disgrace. >> reporter: even though he narrowly lost to trump in the

state, cruz's campaign has reportedly been trying to sway ten more delegates his way, including some from former presidential candidate marco rubio. on the campaign trail, cruz also faces more criticism for his proposal to patrol muslim neighborhoods in the wake of the brussels attacks, an idea he defended sunday. >> what that looks like is pro active law enforcement. what that looks like is addressing the problem and engaging the problem. >> reporter: rival john kasich called such a move a knee-jerk reaction. >> i don't know how you would do it and, secondly, we can't be out there aggravating the very people whose cooperation we need. >> reporter: on the democratic side, hillary clinton and bernie sanders have dismissed the proposal. this week, sanders will try to build on caucus victims in washington, alaska, and hawaii over the weekend. >> we are doing extraordinarily well with young people and we are -- we think we do have a path toward victory. >> reporter: all of the candidates will campaign heavily

jim boeheim and syracuse have done it. back from the dead. >> critics said they shouldn't have made it to the tournament but syracuse is marching on to the final four. down by 15, with a little more than 9:00 to play, the orange went on an incredible 17-8 run and stunning number one seed virginia. final score 68-62. they will take on north carolina in the final four. the top seed seeded in the east tar heels got the best of acc rival notre dame. the irish kept it close and take ago lead at one point in the second half. but unc was too much, pulling away and winning 74-88. here is the final four. a battle of second seeds. it's villanova versus oklahoma and 10 seed syracuse and number one seed unc.

here is another look at this morning's top stories. belgian riot police clash with right wing protesters at a shrine for the victims of the brussels attacks. four americans, including justin and stephanie shults, died in the attacks. four more people were taken into custody following terrorism raids in belgian and terrorist suspects were arrested in the netherlands and italy. a pakistani faction of the taliban says it's responsible for the bombing yesterday in lahore that killed 65 people. the suicide bombers struck at a park where christians were celebrating easter. 300 others were wounded. many of the victims were children. police in tampa are searching for suspects in a stunning theft at a car lot that

involved nearly a dozen people and it was all caught on surveillance video. jericka duncan reports. >> reporter: two of the susects entered the tampa dealership through a smashed window and seemed to know exactly where to look for the box of keys. minutes later, a group of what appears to be eight other young men waiting in the lot, began unlocking vehicle doors. tampa police say the thieves got away with eight vehicles just after 7:00 friday morning. danny halina owns the dealership. >> when you realize eight cars have been stolen and another 12 have been damaged that are going to need some body work and repairs, that kind of, you know, puts you in a different perspective and makes you realize that anything is possible. >> reporter: it's similar to what happened earlier this month when ten criminals used a truck to rip off the doors of this houston gun store. they busted through several glass cases and in just two minutes, they stole 85 weapons. the national retail federation polled retailers around the

country to gauge the impact of what is called multiple offender crimes. their most recent study found that nearly 8 out of 10 retailers report being a victim of that type of crime. suspects in only half of these cases were ever arrested. hrk alina says police told him today they arrested one suspect and now have three of his cars, including one of his most expensive vehicles worth $27,000. >> hindsight is always 20/20, but we have learned a main lesson and that is don't leave the keys on the lot. >> reporter: the dealership's owner says the criminals walked away with all of the keys even the cars they did not take which means he has to replace those as well. jericka duncan, cbs news, new york. coming up after your local news on "cbs this morning," reaction to a male carrier arrested on the job by new york city police officers. plus, a new york man facing his fourth trial today in the murder
