your realtime captioner is linda marie macdonald. yet another twist involving the man caught on camera beaten by alameda county sheriff's deputies. why his ex-girlfriend is the focus of a police investigation. >> and good evening to you, i'm juliette goodrich. >> i'm brian hackney. it's a story we have been tracking all week and now new details about stanislaus petrov. police say his ex-girlfriend dana and her 17-month-old daughter are missing. officers say she was last seen on march 14. she has made no contact with anyone since. she was reported missing yesterday to the sfpd. police say they are worried about her safety and about the safety of her daughter. just yesterday, the fbi arrested stanislaus petrov and several other people during a

raid at a home in visitacion valley. another thing to note. earlier in the day, there was a shooting at the same location. the fbi isn't saying anything about why they raided the home and how petrov was involved. well, turning to other news now, all of the presidential candidates are campaigning in wisconsin today ahead of tuesday's primary. cbs reporter wendy gillette explains a string of controversial comments about women could create problems for gop front-runner donald trump in the badge state. >> the next president of the united states, donald trump! >> reporter: sarah palin introduced donald trump at a rally in wisconsin. he is back on the campaign trail after one of his most difficult weeks, including coming under fire for saying he would punish women who seek abortions if they were made illegal. trump said saturday the media manipulates his words. >> they take things and they say it's -- it's very, very -- the problem is they don't do it with everybody. they do it with me but i don't

see them doing it with other people. [ applause and cheers ] >> reporter: ted cruz was the only presidential candidate to attend the north dakota republican state convention before traveling to wisconsin. the crowd was mostly filled with cruz supporters, although some are lukewarm. >> maybe not my first choice but i do support him. >> reporter: a couple of recent polls show cruz ahead in wisconsin. >> we are doing something pretty unusual in american politics. we're telling the truth. >> reporter: bernie sanders and hillary clinton also held events in the state. >> hello, eau claire! hello! [ applause and cheers ] >> reporter: the campaigns are arguing about setting the date for a debate before new york's primary this month. it's a critical state for clinton, who wants a win where she was senator. wendy gillette for cbs news, new york. >> john kasich also campaigned in wisconsin saturday talking about reforming social security at one of his town halls.

a first since last month's suicide bombings in brussels, flights resume at the airport tomorrow. tests have been carried out under tight security. officials say for now departure areas will only operate at 20% capacity receiving only 800 departing passengers an hour. [ inaudible ] >> it's a sign of hope that shows our shared will and our strength to resurface and not to -- [ indiscernible ] >> the partial re-opening comes two weeks after suicide bombers struck the airport's departure lounge killing 10 people. they were among at least 32 people killed in attacks that day. alaska airlines is nearing a deal to acquire san francisco- based virgin america. a bidding war has been raging for months to see who would nab the company. airline insiders say alaska beat out rivals like jetblue and airways corporation. if the deal goes through and receives federal approval, it would become the first merger for the u.s. airline industry

since american and u.s. airways combined in 2013. this weekend bart is testing regular train service between the pittsburg-bay point and north concord-martinez stations. bart is trying to figure out what caused electrical problems that damaged dozens of train cars last month. engineers are moving cars that are most prone to failure off the track and replacing them with cars with better systems. bart says there's no safety concern for the riders on the shuttle trains. it is april. but for bay area car enthusiasts, it felt more like christmas morning. buyers camped out for days to reserve a new tesla model 3. excitement is growing in fremont and the economy is expected to do the same. mark kelly reports reporter: tesla's model 3 won't be ready to hit the road until next year. but it already has drivers all revved up. do you think you'll drive one, one day? >> absolutely. that's my dream. that's my passion. i'm looking forward to that. >> something which definitely someone would desire to buy for

sure. >> reporter: this week people camped out to reserve the $35,000 car which will be made right here at home inside the tesla factory in fremont. >> i believe more jobs in the city of fremont to the local people, i would definitely think it is going to help. >> reporter: it was six years ago this week, gm abandoned this factory and 4700 people were out of work. but since tesla moved in, the factory floor is humming again, 5,000 jobs created, and mayor bill harrison says that means more tax revenue and jobs all over fremont. >> for every one manufacturing job, 2.2 other jobs are created in the community. so if tesla grows the suppliers and everything around him will continue to grow. >> reporter: he says it's too early to know the exact number of jobs tesla's newest electric car will create here in fremont. but if this electric excitement is any sign, it could be quite a bit. have you picked out your color

plane crash on a southern california freeway. one person is dead, five others injured, after a fiery plane crash on the southern california freeway. it happened this morning on interstate 15 about 50 miles north of san diego. witnesses say a plane crashed into the back of a vehicle on the freeway. one passenger in the car died. the other three were rushed to the hospital. two people inside the plane were also transported for treatment. >> can't imagine what it's like to be a motorist to see a plane landing on the freeway.

[ applause ] ♪[ music ] >> the sign reading boston strong will be visible to runners of this year's boston marathon. it will be the third raisins two pressure cooker bombs were set off near the finish line in 2013 killing three people and injuring dozens more. back home, the solano county sheriff's office has a better idea of who is behind a robbery and assault on a hiking trail last week. this is the sketch of the man that they are looking for right now. the attack happened march 25 near lake berryessa. the victims say the man approached them on the trail and assaulted one of them before demanding money. troubled waters for salmon

fisherman. salmon season started today but a federal agency proposes cutting the number of salmon fishing days by more than 20% because of population declines in some species. fishermen say that would be higher prices for salmon at restaurants and market. a final decision on the restrictions is expected later this month. blue bell has pinpointed the source of a deadly listeria outbreak to its oklahoma plant. the company told the fda that it thinks the bacteria spread through a drainage system. released into the air and then settled on nearby equipment. last year's listeria contamination is linked to three deaths and several illnesses. blue bell says it has enhanced sanitation procedures. fighting growth in part of the east bay. why there's a push to stop developers from building a subdivision. >> we are building high pressure over the west coast, so strong you wouldn't believe what's already in store for next week. the forecast is coming up after the break. ,, ,,,,,,

have down the pipeline. righ neighbors in pleasanton are fighting to cap the enormous community growth city planners have down the pipeline. right now, the stretch of lund ranch road up to mission hills park is in danger of development. reporter da lin has the story reporter: it's hard to ignore the beauty and serenity of this open space. that's why preservationists are trying to stop the developers from building a subdivision here. >> this is some of the remaining hillsides and slopes that we have in pleasanton. and it's a precious resource. >> reporter: come june, pleasanton voters will get to approve or deny the subdivision of 43 homes. the fight over the future growth of pleasanton doesn't

end here. some people are trying to stop the city from allowing big box stores like costco to build on a different plot of land. >> we are going to end up with overcrowded schools and transportation systems, and, you know, it's going to make pleasanton not so pleasant. >> reporter: but city planners say pleasanton was building so slowly, it violated state law. and it's now playing catch-up. >> in late 2014, 2015, we did issue over 1100 residential permits for mostly multi-family housing here in pleasanton. and that is a spike for us. >> reporter: big spike. >> a very big spike. >> reporter: the u.s. census shows alameda county is the fastest growing county in the state. it projects about 25,000 people move into the county each year. city leaders say they can't stop people from moving to pleasanton. they, like other bay area cities, have to plan for more homes to help ease the housing crisis. >> it's thoughtful planned growth. i think it's change at a rate that people can absorb.

>> if we're going to grow more, then as a city, we have to decide we're going to put in more schools. we're going to put in more transportation. >> reporter: while growth is inevitable, the argument continues to be how fast should the city grow? in pleasanton, i'm da lin, kpix 5. president obama nabbed some big games for a weekend golf game. mark kelly, aaron rodgers and espn hosts joined him on the group. they played at the courses at andrews air force base in maryland. that's news, i guess. the soccer star had a gift for president obama's daughters. he sent a pair of personalized jerseys to the girls during a recent trip to argentina. president obama revealed his daughters really wanted to meet the star but they were not able to make it happen then. it's that time that allergy

sufferers dread. spring brings pollen bringing sneezing and wheezing. do you have allergies? >> i do. that's why i'm interested in the story on why the pollen count is higher than usual this year. >> reporter: most people begin spending more time outdoors during spring but ask anyone with allergies what the consequences are if you're not prepared. >> really bad. >> just a lot of watery eyes like i have right now and sneezing and it's hard to work out in the yard. >> how have your allergies been? >> better lately. >> reporter: dr. miller is an expert at keeping even the worst patient allergies at bay. he has seen an uptick in the number of patients seeking treatment for their allergies. according to dr. miller the pollen count in the sacramento area is much higher now compared to the last few years because of the fluctuating wet and warm weather. >> climate change is actually having some effect. we are seeing earlier pollen seasons longer pollen seasons and higher pollen counts during those seasons. >> reporter: so their solution

now, look at the difference. san francisco 57 degrees. 74 at concord. quite a contrast there, don't you think, juliette? >> quite a contrast, absolutely. >> 67 in oakland. san jose 72. and santa rosa -- [ pause ] >> 68 degrees. tomorrow morning, we are going to have fog and low clouds along the shoreline. and numbers start out on the chilly side. and that news will be of interest to runners, which we'll tell you about in a minute. but first beach hazard statement are posted through saturday, that's today, through sunday actually. all coastal locations mixed swells 3 to 6 feet. long period swells really have an tendency to pull you offshore so that's why at least a strong rip current hazard at the shore. high pressure is over the west coast. so we get mild weather this weekend. and all of the moisture that you see out there in the pacific is going to be headed up into the pacific northwest. futurecast, we have plenty of fog and low clouds by tomorrow morning. maybe even a little bit of drizzle to terrorize the bay

area. but after 8:00 tomorrow morning, it will burnbach to the shoreline and we'll have a perfectly sunny day except for the occasional high cloud drifting over from time to time. so here's what we're expecting as we drift over toward san francisco. coastal clouds tonight, otherwise blue skies, partly sunny sunday. seasonal highs. and then highs near 90 degrees inland midweek. runners we were telling about you about, rock 'n roll half marathon in san francisco, tomorrow morning 54 degrees low clouds. 59 at lake tahoe. 56 at yosemite. 84 fresno. yikes. sun-up tomorrow at 9 minutes before 7:00. the extended forecast calls for a breezy start to the week. partly cloudy skies tomorrow. look at what happens on wednesday! that high pressure builds in strongly enough and we get a bit of an offshore component so we're looking at 90 degrees

inland by midweek. it all totally turns around by friday. after it cools on monday, we slowly ramp it up. tuesday, wednesday, thursday, it's going to be warm coming up in the bay area. but tomorrow looks mild. a few low clouds will keep us cool. and speaking of ultracool, here she is. >> that's me. coming up in sports, the final four is dwindling down to the final 2. and the warriors still eyeing the record for 73 wins on the season but steve kerr say the team's focus should be on something else. we'll be right back. ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

in the 1st match- up... villanova looking to take dn oklahoma... a team that beat on. march madness has spilled into april with four teams left. the first matchup villanova and oklahoma a team that beat them earlier this season. when the teams met in december they were in hawaii. today a different location, this houston in front of vice president joe biden. first half wildcats up 23-17. jenkins knocks down the three pushing the lead to 9. jenkins finished with 18 points in the game. now, final seconds of the first half, josh hart with a shot clock expiring. he hits from downtown. hart finished with 23. nova up 14 at the half. but the sooners make a run after the break. jordan off the own missed three fro and oklahoma cuts the deficit to 9. but after that, it was all nova. jenkins, he throws a baseball pass to michael for the dunk and the foul. nova shot 71% from the field.

and they won the game 95-51. the 44-point win is the biggest margin of victory in the history. game. nova will play for the first time since 1985. >> did you expect this at all? >> no, not at all. that was, um, that was just one of those nights. i mean, i feel bad for oklahoma. we have all had those nights and they have had a freight season. they are a great team. and it's tough when they beat us so badly early in the year it's tough to get as fired up and we knew they could beat us bad so we had a lot of fear coming into this game. to the nba, being perfect is not so easy. a lesson the warriors learned just last night. 41-0 at home this season is no longer in the cards for the "dubs." >> steph fakes, three for the tie, no! three for the tie, no! the boston celtics have stopped the record run at home!

>> it was not an april fool's joke. the celtics became the first visiting team to win a regular season game at oracle since january of 2015 as the warriors home win streak was snapped at 54 games. now golden state needs to finish the season 5-1 to break the 1995-'96 old record of 72 wins on the regular season but coach steve kerr thinks the team needs to focus on getting better, not just breaking records. >> i think they want the record but what they probably realize is maybe all the talk and all the focus on the record has gotten us away from just our process and what makes us who we are, what makes us pretty good. so i think the whole focus now the last six games is let's just play well. you know? let's just be us and let's make hard cuts and set good screens

and be crisp and whatever happens, happens. >> take care of the ball remember back on thursday when injured center festus azully was the victim of an early april fool's prank by andre iguodala? his team make convinced i sele he had been cut from the team. yesterday i sele got his sweet revenge. >> revenge is a dish best served cold and delicious. hm. >> happy april fool's! ha ha! iguodala deserved more than that. but that was a good payback. to baseball, spring was fun but it's now time for the regular season to begin. both the giants and a's getting their final tune-up in, in game 3 of the bay bridge exhibition series. instead of batting, though, batting practice, the a's had a shootaround at oracle arena.
