jackie? >> reporter: kenny, this started when paramedics were treating someone at the ambassador hotel in the tenderloin and came out and realized that the paramedic's ambulance was between and ended up here at the i-80 eastbound off-ramp. the chp and fire department tweeted these pictures as the ambulance was still on fire. it looks like it took a crash and left the road. the driver was arrested on scene. traffic headed eastbound on the bay bridge was slow going because of the crash and commuters heading into san francisco from brisbane were even feeling the effects. depending on the nature and the crew, they have the option to

preference. they are supposed to see this sign. and at the polling place right here at the headquarters, that did not happen. we were at the registrar of voters office to report on how they were getting the word out on no preference party voters with 150,000 of these mailers. they had issued press releases and blasted the news on social media, and then these signs telling no matter preference voters they could switch to democratic, independent, or like -- liberatarian and they forgot to post that here inside the recommend strar of -- registrar of voters' main building. as a big boss, what do you think when you look at that? >> as an opportunity to improve the training and the information that we train our

california itself is the race for the u.s. senate to replace retiring senator barbara boxer. voters can make their pick regardless of party. the top two vote getters advance. and tell come down to kamala harris and loretta sanchez, and if that muchs, it will be the first time that a republican has not appeared on the california ballot for u.s. senate. and voters will decide whether to save the bay, fund shoreline improvements, clean up, and restoration projects. senator dianne feinstein is a supporter. >> our airports, freeways, infrastructure will be threatened. headquarters of tech companies, the lifeline of our regional economy will be forced to

f-l earlie . turned a look at how the financials markets are doing on wall street with less than an hour to go before the closing bell. the dow is up 54 points. a disturbing tweet from the nfl earlier today turned out to be the work of a hacker. fans were startled by the announcement that commissioner roominger goodell had tied. - - roger goodell had died. the hacker followed it up with okay. okay. you amateur detectives, good job. and 10 days ago, a 3-year- old boy slipped through the barrier at the cincinnati zoo

and ended up in the hands of a gorilla. that animal had to be shot and killed. >> they are truly heart sick and they made remedial changes to the enclosure and hope ferally, this will -- hopefully, this will never happen again. >> the new barriers are 3 and a half feet taller and they have added fence to keep people out. tropical storm colein made landfall in florida overnight. more now on the destruction that it left behind. >> reporter: rains, blistering winds and widespread flooding took aim at florida on monday as tropical storm colin barreled towards the sunshine state. at least one possible tornado was spotted near jacksonville. surveillance video captured the strong winds carrying through a neighborhood. >> could hear the freight train sound.

>> reporter: more than 6" of rain in the state and wind gusts of 65 miles per hour sent waving surging. in manatee county, the coast guard helped to rescue a sailor whose boat slammed into the side of a bridge and flooding in tampa bay where more than 7,000 people lost power. the storm splintered trees and toppled trucks. >> we are very luck -- lucky it didn't hit our house. it would have torn the roof off. >> reporter: a rainband extends 500 mileses from tropical storm colin, and that is moving over central florida right now, and looking at the radar, once this system passes and gets right offshore in the atlantic, the radar is dry. >> wow. plenty of rain there, and around here, we see a little

drizzle. we accumulated, .01" of drizzle. it's just a very deep marine layer, roughly 2000 feet deep and right now, looking at the clouds and they are parallel with the transnicker pyramid. they are roughly between 850 feet and 1000 around the bay area causing delays at sfo up to 1 hour. temperature wise, not bad. 75 in livermore and low 60s in san francisco and 74 in san jose, and our weather watcher in redwood city, robert cell van -- reporting near ached in orinda, and not just the temperatures coming down but it's the wind. picking up in oakland, 13 miles per hour on the approach to the bay bridge and 12 in san francisco. 12 at sfo and also 12 miles per hour in antioch and i saw some of the wind gusts in the delta
