biggest mass shooting ever on u. s. soil. all 50 victims have been removed and the nightclub and identified, but not all of the 53 wounded have been. president obama described the gunman, omar mateen as a lone wolf and isis radicalized, and the two previous context with omar mateen included a thorough investigation to terror cells.>> reporter: the fbi agents searched for evidence outside of the pulse nightclub, the last of the victims have been removed, and they are working to notify the next of kin. gunfire erupted in the crowded gay club after last call on sunday morning, and the officer working at the club exchanged fire with the 29-year-old, omar mateen . additional officers enter the club sparking another

gunbattle, and the attacker retreated to the bathroom with a number of hostages, and that is when omar mateen called 911, paging his allegiance to isis and claiming to have bomb. and the s.w.a.t. team stormed the club through a hole in the wall. omar mateen born in new york to afghan parents was a security guard with no criminal record, and his father says that the attack goes against everything he taught his son. >> what he did was completely an active terrorist.>> reporter: the president obama said there was no evidence that the shooter was part of a bigger terror plot.>> this is homegrown extremism that all of us have been so concerned about for a very long time. >> reporter: the fbi had investigated him twice about possible terror ties but cleared him, and they were following up on 100 leads. >> we are going to the killers
