live from the cbs bay area studios, this is kpix news. more drivers placed in danger after another shooting on east bay highway. the new push to install cameras to try to catch the gunman. the latest shooting near pittsburgh along i. 4. one person suffered minor injuries. only on 5, talked with a local lawmaker about what he's going to do to get more cameras on the highway. >> congressman told me today he is going to be looking into federal grants and other sorts of allocated funds like transportation safety. all options on the table. trying to make these highways safer. >> another shattered window, another shot fired at a moving

vehicle. this one on highway 4 near pittsburgh friday night. the driver pulled into this gas station after hear ago pop. >> this driver. >> there have been more than 20 shootings on east bay highways since november. >> it is scary. >> one shooting killed a pregnant mother of 4. many happening in broad daylight. they say they are targeted and gang related but putting drivers in danger. >> you can be driving to work. >> whenever you have killings taking place it's important that all levels of government is at the table. >> so east bay congressman is hoping to get help from the feds. >> just try to help law enforcement as much as we can. >> he says on monday he will instruct his staff to look at all available funding to get more cameras in place. >> we should be building an

infrastructure. >> pittsburgh just put up am rase but there are -- cameras but there are miles without cameras where criminals know they are not being watched. and here in contra cast county there's a plan to put infrared sensors on all squad cars. they would scan license plates and compare them with a car database to figure out who might have been where and when. live in. >> we are going to be watched wherever we go. firefighters are working to put out this bush fire burning near will owe pass road. no reports of injuries. a well known symbol marking gay pride weekend went up in san francisco this weekend. hundreds helped set up the gay triangle. the annual pink sanity celebration is underway in san

francisco but as jackie ward explains, some changes have been made to this year's event. >> there's a lot to celebrate because as of a few days ago we weren't sure if this event was happening but it is and people are starting to come in and they are decked out. >> this is just perpetual indulgence. the sisters dieded the event was getting too out of control and wasn't safe. but tonight the sisters are taking their party back. bars are using in metal detectors and -- the party will actually cost you money this year unlike years past. tickets are $10 to get inside. part of that money will go to security for the event. the rest of the money will go to victims and their families of the orlando shooting. the party goes until 10:00 tonight. bart plans to open early tomorrow for the crowds attending the pride parade. services beginning sunday at 7:00 a.m. a shark warning in pacifica. yesterday morning somebody saw a great white shark in the water and then pacifica police posted that alert. they are warning all beach goers to be careful. the decision for britain to leave eu has gained 1000

miles in kern county. firefighters are dealing wit . an out of control wild fire destroyed at least 150 houses and burned more than 50 square miles. firefighters are dealing with steep terrain. has been talking with evacuees and there she is from the hard hit community of lake isabella. jennifer. >> well, bryan a man who lives here says it looks like a bomb was dropped on this neighborhood. look back here at his car. this was his baby.

he helped to rebuild this. you can see it's completely charred, a total loss. we are going to walk you around to the front of the property. this used to be his mobile home. the roof has collapsed in. the gravel used to be white, it's now black. over here another vehicle he helped rebuild, this truck also a total loss. everywhere you look in this community, all you see is total devastation. today a lot of people are coming back sifting through the ash trying to see if there's anything left but there's not much. if you look at the mountains on the other side is where this fire is raging. you can see some of that smoke. we were able to report last night containment is at 5% but today they are scaling back. it is at 0% containment. >> get in the sandblaster. >> for michael and his father pita few pans and some knives

are all that made it. the two try to hide their pain. >> i'm okay. i'll manage. >> so we get to start over. whatever we can do. we just keep our hopes up and keep going. >> there's is one of 150 homes that have burnt to the ground. the fire started thursday night. huge flames ripping through properties. tonight there is no containment. >> the look of did he have devastation is on these people's face. a lady sitting there with oxygen tanks. >> at nearby concern felled elementary more than 100 people now wait to return to what's left. >> we couldn't get anything. it hit the top of the ridge. we saw it. and within 20 minutes it was there. our house was on fire. >> it's just unbelievable. i've never seen this much damage from a fire up here.

>> a lot of smoke in the skies, the wind has been a huge problem in fighting this fire. also that steep and rugged terrain. there's now 1100 firefighters working on the fire. no word on when it may be over. at least 26 people have died in heavy floods in west virginia. hundreds of people are stranded. the rain started thursday. at least 9 inches fell in some areas. friends and neighbors are helping each other deal with the devastation. >> there was an elderly lady in one of the houses that was holding her husband up, 116 pounds and she was holding her husband up out of the water and he was deceased. >> president obama has declared west virginia a disaster area. the national guard and fema are already helping residents recover. while pga has canceled the green briar classic, the tournament was supposed to

of fans gathered at sonoma ed souped u nascar is in the bay area this weekend. tens of thousands of fans gathered to watch souped up cars zip around the track. out at the track live watching some cars go very fast. >> yeah, bryan. i have got to say watching nascar on tv just doesn't do justice. you can't feel the intensity and the power of these extremely fast cars.

standing next to that track makes you want to jump in the driver's seat. that energy is so exciting. before you can even see them, they are gone but the sound, can't miss it. you can hear it loud and clear anywhere inside the raceway. in fact some people have to wear ear plugs, especially kids. >> i will have to hear the loud cars. >> the engine noise is one thing but the power of these race cars, it's something you simply can't experience watching on tv. >> the feed back from the drivers, oh, it's so much better. >> among those on the track fighting for a good starting position is local favorite aj from las gad os. he did very well finishing 2nd in the qualifying round. >> i raced at the go cart track up there. it's a special race and i love road car racing. it means a lot to me.

hawaii. >> she got the idea for her convention once she realized corgi owners loved posting pictures. >> most corgis are actually on instagram so we made a lot of online friendships and we decided maybe we recollected we should make it a bigger thing. >> it includes a costume contest. a number of photo shoot opportunities, a foundation and a way to study up on proper breeding techniques. >> we try and tell folks when they buy a corgi, always look for a well bred day. look for a dog that is health tested. >> but our camera did spot one imposter, shrinky the dak son. >> you don't have a corgi? >> no, we're kind ever scouting. upon her demise there will be corgis coming.

>> and that proves corgi con isn't just for corgi owners. it's also open to the people who are always looking at these short smart dogs. those people were planning for their dogs to die. they are planning ahead. horrible thing. >> no. okay. we have got blue skies in the bay area right now and some places as much as 10 degrees warmer than yesterday. all part of the well advertised warming trends. in san francisco, 66 degrees. getting close to 100 in concord. overnight lows we will see the temperatures tumble all the way to the mid-50s. sun up tomorrow at 11 minutes before 6:00 a.m. high pressure combining with the low a big push. we are getting nice mild temperatures but inland the pressures come up a little bit.

in the row low to mid-90s. north bay beautiful day tomorrow, temperatures in the mid-80s, very summer like and down right warm for st. helena and windsor. shows temperatures peak tomorrow before beginning to back off a little bit monday, tuesday and wednesday. and then a little bit of relief as we head to thursday and friday. the numbers back into the 80s in land and around the bay will be near 80 degrees. for the coastline mid-60s. that is the weather and eighths all for setting the stage for this man. >> another warrior's player is on the olympic teams. i'll tell you who. and it was hot today. anybody up for the pool? this fellow was. one of the dives of his life. - [voiceover] you are san francisco.

california born 18 and under is just days away from trying to make his first olympic team. >> it's definitely been a goal since 2012 and actually before that. i couldn't be more excited just because of how over the years our plan has work. >> david: the olympic trials are in omaha next week. swimming since in sea since he was 8, grabbed the spotlight last year in singapore. after all, in french the name max even means the greatest. >> you are just fast. >> i'm definitely very blessed. >> subsequent triumphs bolted him to the nationals at just 17. he's been clocking times rivalling and besting michael phelps and -- look at some of his best times, both in yardage and meters.
