fram. her father has a -- program. her father as a -- has a business in the city. her father was waiting outside of the crime scene. the indian national is one of the more than 20 people killed in the attacks. the university says she was going to study economics she was active on campus and got involved with the international students association. she worked on a nonprofit group grouped called etcal which helps people in other countries. >> it's heartbreaking and i think the community of berkeley feels it. we got sent an email. >> most students are home for the summer break but those who heard are saddened by the news. >> it's terrible to end her life that short. to be somewhere where you thought you were going to learn. >> i feel sorry for her family

and i hope they can deem with that. >> the student body will have a vigil and memorial on campus. they will release information soon. . rome is honoring the victims in bangladesh. the italian flag lit up the roman palace tonight. nine were killed in the siege. hillary clinton issued a statement she says this campaign of fear and hatred can violence will not succeed. we will not turn our backs on each other. the u.s. stands firmly with our friends and allies in the fight to defeat isis and radicals around the world. donald trump has not issued a statement. clinton met with federal investigators for a few hours about her use of a private email server. we report from the headquarters

the tweet was deleted. new news in that sex scandal in the police department. two officers have been reassigned. the richmond mayor made the announcement today. this girl says she had sex with the two officers. the investigation continues and once it's complete appropriate action will take place. a bomb threat forced the evacuation of a jew wish sen -- jewish center this morning. bomb squads checked out the building but didn't find anything. organizers decided to close the building for the day. so far no arrests. repairs are ongoing at the site of a water main break in pleasant hill. it sent water into businesses

last night water gushing out of the ground flooding the streets and parking lots. >> everything is fine on the northbound side. we are asking you to avoid southbound. obviously driving but also pedestrians as well. we don't want anybody to get hurt. >> the contra costa water district expects to have this repaired by tomorrow afternoon. and that's good news for the july fourth parade and the nearly 15,000 people coming to see it. >> we have been talking to the police department and we've been talking to the city today and everything should be fine. >> if the hole isn't fixed by sunday night the parade route will be adjusted. . water district crews plan to be out here all night. and then there will be an electrical line fixed. >> from water to fire already too familiar a theme tonight.

this time more than 1700 firefighters are battling that trail fire outside of sacramento. firefighters are attacking from land and air. it's wiped out 3200 acres. they are in place for volcanoville. the rugged terrain makes fighting it tough. the flames have spread out now covering 2,000 acres. winds will pick up later tonight threatening more land. highway 108 between highway 101 fire rages on both sides of the road. crews estimate only 10% of the blaze is contained. work picks up again in a few hours from now to fix a pothole on the bridge and it will affect traffic. it opened up on thursday night on the upper deck beyond the

toll plaza. the damage extends through the deck. it's closing one westbound lane from 9:00 p.m. tonight until 9:00 a.m. and the same from sunday to monday. crews are making repairs so until tuesday three stations on the fre month line will be closed. there will be free shuttle busses between south hayward and union city stations. a holocaust survivor and author wiesel has passed away. more fall out for the victims of the orlando shooting. why the organizers received death threats.

elie wiesel a hol kous survivor died today at the age of 87. his memory was called night. he within the on to write many other books and become a living reminder of what the that sooes did. he won the nobel peace prize in 1986. an illinois store called off a fundraiser for orlando. they sold tickets to raf l off an assault rifle. the shop was getting death threats but it was canceled because only nonperiod of times can hold raffles in illinois. a drunk driver could be to blame for a dramatic explosion last night in detroit.

the flames could be seen as far as canada. taking an aerial look at the damage you can see how it cratered out there. the driver took a wrong turn and slammed into a major gas line. >> detectives have spoke with the driver and he's in stable condition. he's 24 years old. after viewing -- interviewing him and several other people it appears alcohol was a factor. >> the driver was rescued by a friend who was tailing him in a different car. officers say if he had waited another five second he wouldn't have survived. still ahead our struggling real estate market in silicon valley. and we'll tell you what's up with the win di weather near the coastline. the forecast as we look live over san jose coming up after the break.
