bangladesh. tonight- the university and her classmat are making p uc berkeley student killed in a terrorist attack in bangladesh. the university and classmates are making plans to honor her. uc berkeley plans to hold a vigil for sophomore teresa j miss at noon as news of her death spreads the berkeley community struggles to make sense of the loss. >> it's terrible to end her life that short to be somewhere you thought you were going to learn and to end up in a tragedy. >> i hope her family is okay and can deal with that. >> she was an intern in

bangladesh through a uc berkeley program and her father has a business in that city.>> to other college students were killed and that hostage standoff. when d gillette has the latest. >>reporter: amateur video capture gunfire and explosions when they moved into and a 10 hour hostage crisis in bangladesh. 28 people were killed in the attack in the capital city of dhaka. 28 hostages and two police officers and six government. a dozen hostages described horrific hours inside a popular spanish restaurant in the diplomatic zone. the attackers asked the hostages to recite verses from the koran. if they could not, they were tortured and killed. most of the hostages were foreigners. nine of them were from italy and seven from japan and three attending college in the us. two of them were emory college

university students in georgia. one from miami and one from dock at in a business school. a sophomore at the university of california berkeley. she was an intern at a bank. the islamic state claimed responsibility for the attack saying it was targeting what it called citizens of crusader country. the prime minister of bangladesh called for two days of national mourning. hillary clinton is speaking out on the angloãa taxpayer this campaign of fear hatred and violence will not succeed. we will not retreat we will not turn our back on each other. we stand firmly with her friends and allies in the fight to defeat isis and radical jihadists and around the world. so far donald trump has not

released an official statement. >> today hillary clinton both the fbi about her use of a private email server push us secretary of state. the way the interview happened may hold clues about where the investigation stands. hillary clinton's interview with the fbi could mean a year- long investigation is coming to a close. >> this investigation has been going on for a long time. >> a retired fbi assistant special agent in charge give us insight into how they handled clinton's interview. >> typically you interview the subject of the investigation so that says we are coming to some sort of conclusion one way or another. this morning a police motorcade surrounded her home the democratic presidential nominee was summoned to fbi headquarters. bringing her in could be seen as a strategic move on the part of the fbi. >> it puts them on their turf and allows them to control the course of the investigation and

control the pace of the interview. they usually don't go into an interview with a question they don't have the answer to. it's just a matter of how honest the person is going to be during the course of that interview. >>reporter: the interview lasted three and half hours. the clinton campaign said this interview was voluntary and she was happy she could bring this review to a conclusion that out of respect for the investigative process she will not comment further. the department of justice is facing heat over atty. gen. loretto glitches private meeting with clinton's husband, bill clinton. >> i would certainly not to do it again because it has cast a shadow. >>reporter: the attorney general said she will not make a final decision into first of the fbi investigation. criminal charges are highly unlikely.

>> clinton used her own email server rather than the state department for both official and personal messages in the fbi is looking in to if she mishandled sensitive information. sensitive information got a man arrested for allegedly planning terrorism attacks. an 18-year-old faced a judge this morning. the fbi in the arizona atty. gen.'s office were together to arrest in the suite. it's unclear what threats he made were but it does have to do with the fourth of july holiday. he is being held without bond in an arizona county jail. a manhunt is underway for the person that shot and killed two people in east oakland. a man and woman were found shot to death along macarthur boulevard the victims names have not been released. a suspect was seen running away from the area after the shooting but so far there have not been any arrests.

a community center shuts down after someone phoned in a bomb threat. police received a call of a bomb at the peninsula jewish center around 9 am this morning. bomb squad and a k-9 unit did a thorough sweep but they did not find anything. >> a bay area police sex scandal investigation. two officers have been assigned to the positions. they have been removed from their roles working with youth. an 18-year-old said she had sex with lieut. bill and ofc. jared pong. hill had been working as a manager of a youth and social services division. ofc. pong was a school resource officer. the mayor said it will take further action depending on the investigation and when it is complete. >> a fast-moving fire especially homes shutting down homes and cutting power. firefighters have a big job ahead of them.

>> it was going up the mountain and when i got to the top it was creeping down the backside. >>reporter: fire crews in the air and on the ground worked quickly to keep the flames from spreading the right home and calaveras county saturday afternoon. the wildfire knocked out power to thousands of homes. stephani a case packed her pets and family dog not knowing what to expect from a wildfire. she and her husband bought property here in 2014 with hopes of building their dream home someday. >> we moved in last month excited not thinking that fire would happen. >>reporter: she worries her home might be just a dream. >> this is a wake-up call.

seven it was the lack of preparation by a homeowner that sparked the blaze through the homeowner was working on a breaker box when the flames jumped from the property and raced up the hill. >> have the property owner had good defensible space around the structure possibly the fire would not have spread. chance of of that homeowner was charged with negligently starting a fire and could face up to a year in jail. now stephani a and her husband anxiously wait hoping for the best. >> we hope there will be a foundation to build on what we get back. seven fire crews will continue cutting lines around the fire. they have no air support until tomorrow morning. no rest for firefighters in el dorado county during the

best from blocking a trailhead fire from swallowing structures in the sierra foothills. it has forced 5 mi.2 since it started on tuesday. raftery ms. making it hard for firefighters it ripped through a steep canyon the firefighters could not get two. so far 1600 people have been forced from their homes. strike in san bernardino firefighters put out a brush fire that four through five houses. several families had to evacuate and one neighbor suffered minor injuries. investigators are looking into arson is a possible cause. strike it would not be a fourth of july weekend without a rockets red glare but fireworks are only legal in handful of cities in the bay area and police are ready to strike. emily turner has the story. >>reporter: i am standing in sonoma county right now i can like this fireworks but a few miles down the road i cannot. the discrepancy is causing problems for those staff. for many this is the sound of a patriotic fourth of july but fireworks bring a sound of

alarm. >> we don't want to see the fireworks. it's because they start fires and they are dangerous. >>reporter: they are also illegal in more and county but in sonoma county they are not. the fire department has posted fliers warning people that sellers are not required to warn people either. >> we have to check for ages and make sure no one under 18 is buying them but other than that, that's about it. >>reporter: so far no one buying fireworks is claiming to be headed to warren county but every year there are people who break the lock and with the windy conditions this weekend they're worried about that does what that might mean. >> if it is windy or hot and drunk we will add additional engines so instead of having just 4 engines we will add a fifth or a six if needed.

sometimes legal fireworks can misfire but it happened yesterday at the moran county fairgrounds. firefighters had to douse it we did barge that caught fire. the heat of the fireworks caused the barge to ignite and it burned for a solid two hours. no one was injured. >> drivers want to take it easy this holiday weekend. the chp will be out looking for speeders but also they will be keeping and i have for seatbelt violations and drivers texting behind the wheel. >> work resume to fix a pothole on the richmond bridge on the upper deck heading westbound. caltrans will have one lane closed until 9 am tomorrow and again from 9 pm sunday through 9 am monday. the 3 foot wide hole opened up there soon i behind the total -- beyond the toll plaza. it's fairly serious because it penetrates through the entire deck.
