live from the cbs bay area studios this is kpix 5 news. >> major delays at the walnut crk bart station after a fire on the tracks. >> don is live to tell us what happened. >> yeah. brian some good news to report they reopened the station about 15 minutes ago at 4:45 but there still will be some delays here because there's a single track at this time. the station was shut down for about two hours this afternoon following a fire on the tracks. no one was hurt in the fire but it cause add system-wide problem since they could not get past the station. it also had a scheduled shut

five hours to get home today. >> the repair work being done on the tracks will affect about 40,000 people each weekend. the balboa park station is closed. this is the first of seven weekends between now and october that will cause these delays. in daly city jackie ward kpix 5. >> the express lanes that opened earlier this year most have taken trips down the lane. the benefits of the $345 million project are showing. average speeds are between 10 and 25 miles faster. these lanes will be closed for road work. this is the first of many along the stretch of highway.

be waping out for more than poison oak and rattlesnakes. >> there's no reason we can't share the trail. >> the park ranger advices people to be aware of their surrounding. in marin county kpix 5. >> the people familiar with the trail say they have come across obstacles before but this is the first time for a spiked strip. a driver charged with dui after slamming his truck into a house. it happened on torns avenue at midnight it caused quite a scene. neighbors came out while police investigated. the driver of the truck was taken o the hospital to be treated. no one this the home was hurt. police looking for the suspects who stabbed four people early this morning. an officer saw a scuffle on the street but when he got to the scene the suspects were gone. two of the victims were rushed to the hospital for surgery no. word an their conditions today.

a man hunt on for two men who robbed a bank in morgan hill. it happened at a chase bank. police say the suspects came in with guns, took money and drov away. investigators are combming surveillance imaging and one photo shows a man in a gray hooded sweatshirt. is second -- the second man carry as duffel man. a new box for throwing away used sir rings to get them off the streets is outside a hotel in san francisco. it's an expansion of an existing program. it's at the el dorado. neighbors were worry of a plan to put it there but they agreed to a three-month trial. other boxes have shown good results especially in the civil center where hundreds are

collected each week. a murder weapon traced back to the mayor of stockton. stockton police say 13-year-old harris was gunned down early last year. according to the da's office in january 2015 that gun was used to shoot up a house nearby. they recovered the gun and discovered its original owner was the mayor. he says it was stolen from his home. >> he didn't report it you know what i mean. that's not a good example. >> court documents show he waited months before reporting the weapon stolen. ,,,,,,,,,,,,

flames.. investigators say: there are no s. omar villafranc a hot air balloon carrying 16 people went down in flames. investigators say there are no survivors. >> investigators surveyed a gruesome scene saturday morning what was left after a hot air balloon loaded with passengers plunge today the earth. a woman saw the aftermath from her front porch. >> i heard one pop before i stepped out the door and i'm looking around to see who's shooting because it sounded like a gun going off. and then i looked off over there and i saw a big fire ball go up. >> margaret says she often sees hot air balloon miss the area and that the same company involved in the accident had what she called a close call in

a neighbor's field a year and a half ago. it was foggy early in the morning but that the haze had mostly cleared. she believes the noises she heard were the balloon hitting high voltage power lines. >> the way it went up i don't think any of them had any idea what was going on. >> a team of investigators out of washington will try to determine what went wrong. they will treat this area like a crime scene. >> you get one chance at it so we want to do it correctly. >> the governor said he's asking owl of -- all of texas to join in a prayer. in this county we are learning that the flight was scheduled to land in oakland but never made it. on board was a nurse, a medic and the pilot. no survivors.

and also well offshore. keeping the south land hot. we're in-between temperatures close to seasonal averages. low clouds spreading inland so a repeat performance of the per ishl. close to the shoreline give away sunshine later in the day tomorrow. temperatures cooler though. stronger sea breeze so inland numbers will cool a little bit tomorrow into the mid to upper 80s and here's how it looks cool and cloudy all week by the shoreline. just the usual summertime pattern which means when the giants take on the nationals tomorrow we'll have low clouds and cool conditions. at the fair 82 degrees. at the garlic festival 90 degrees. partly cloudy skies. and the sonoma nationals happening tomorrow 82 degrees.

that has got to just about do with things to happen. the san francisco marathon happens tomorrow morning and partly cloudy skies there. overnight lows tonight in the mid-50s for the most part with santa rosa down to 50 degrees. mountain view 53. sun up at 6:13 a.m. here's how it looks out of the bay area. 102 at redding. 104 for fresno. 69 for monterey. along the shoreline the numbers many the 60s. for high temperatures numbers mostly in the mid 60s near the shore. santa rosa 82. 91 at livermore. 81 for san jose. the usual low clouds in the morning. sun in the afternoon and temperatures remain near 90 degrees inland.
