had been playing around with a friend on the train when an annoyed passenger called the police. she claims the officer pulled out a gun at one point. bart officials say that's all wrong. they say the suspect physically fought back as the officer tried to arrest him. he was booked on two continues -- counts of resisting arrest. bart says it's internal affairs division is look intoog the video but they think the police officer acted rightly. >> and a fire broke out on the tracks. the fire shut the station down for a while. >> yeah for about two hours julia. but they opened the walnut creek bart station about an hour and 125 minutes ago. there will be major delays in both directions because they're

single tracking through the walnut creek bart station now. we want to show you footage that was released by firefighters. the station was shut down for about two hour this is afternoon following a fire on the tracks. you can see what's left of the plastic that was burning at one point. no one was hurt but it caused a system-wide issue some major delays trains in both directions koult not get past the station. we also have some footage that we shot showing the station reopening. bart passengers feeling happy and relieved that they were able to use it. there was no bus branch for the two hours. there was some frustration among bart passengers as well. >> a lot of smoke coming up from the platform area kw when we investigated further we found that the protective cover on the third rail along the

people traveling from sfo ran into delays. some trying to catch a flight had to hustle today. this bart employee told us he spoke to a few thousand people who were confused. >> where are you going sir? >> can i help you? >> trying to take bart. >> you're taking it? >> despite all the signage and warning about this weekend's delays a lot of people forgot. >> they said there's no more stops coming, going downtown. i have to get on the bus to get to glen park. don't want to do that. >> luckily i gave myself plenty of time but less time than i would like. >> bart recommends an hour of extra travel time. this bus driver said it took 15 minutes to get from glen park

to daly city. >> this family was trying to get home after a vacation. >> we're a little bit upset. no one pointed out there was no continuous service. >> not only did they have two little ones but they had to lug their stuff around. the repair work being done will affect about 40,000 people each weekend. the balboa park station is closed. this is only the first of seven weekends where balboa park station will be closed. gunfire erupted as police were on foot in emeryville. they were walking last night when someone fire add single shot. it's not clear if the shooter was aiming at the officers. they later found a round in a nearby wall. no one was hurt.

new detalgs on that medical plane that went down. we have new details. it killed everyone on board. the patient was being trarns ported to san francisco. the plane was traveling from crescent to san francisco when the pilot sent a distress cig nalg. the wreckage was found later many the day. the pilot, medic, nurse and patient on board did not survive. quite a scene in san jose this morning when a suspected drunk driver slammed his truck into a home. it happened around midnight the driver was taken o the hospital to be -- was taken to the hospital to be treated. police looking for the suspect who stabbed four people and ran off before police officers arrived this morning. it happened by san carlos. two victims needed surgery

current conditions unknown. the search is on for two men who robbed a bank today. it happened on monterey road. surveillance photos show one suspect in a gray hooded sweatshirt. a second man has on a hoodie and is carrying a duffel bag. they got away in a blue ford focus. the fbi is helping with the case. keeping san francisco streets cleaner but safer. they've been installing syringe disposal boxes. a new broks is now on a wall -- box is on a wall outside of the market. there are other locations. officials say they have collected up to 300 a week from some boxes. uber hasn't translated to to a fall in drunk driving

a man has died after falling 50 to 100 feet into the water near sutro baths. firefighters had to call in the coast guard to help because of following breaking news a man has died after falling 100 to 150 feet. they were able to rescue the victim's friend after she became strandeden she was not hurt. a warning tonight for mountain bikers somebody might be setting booby traps along a marin county trail. we're near woodacre where bikers found a homemade spike strip earlier this week. >> the mountain biker who found

the strip turned it in this morning but for those on the trail it's bikers beware. >> eric and his son came here to ride on the trails they had no idea another biker had found this strip just off white hill fire road in the open space preserve. >> to see that someone is putting something up like that is disappointing. >> the san rafael biker who found and removed the strip sent me these photos. they were anchored into the ground. >> it's obviously alarming. >> tom says it appears to be an intentional trap. >> they appear to be screws pointed upwards is a concern because that could cause injury to anybody using the trails whether on a bike or hiking or even a dog.

another month. the fire has burned 33,000 acres and is just 15% contained. they lifted some evacuation orders today but many are being warned. the fire is blamed for killing one person. it's also destroyed 57 homes and 11 out buildings. 2,000 other structures are threatened. several neighboring counties have been helping. the fire is putting out so much smoke it can be seen from space. in fact this picture from nasa you can see smoke clouds covering a big stretch of land across the state towards fresno. governor brown has declared a state of emergency. >> that is striking. some local business owners worry it could leave a lasting impact on their product. some vineyard owners say the

smoke drifting in could affect the grapes that will be made into wine later. they've seen it before when the grapes couldn't take the smoke in 2008 and last year's fire. >> we have to worry about something called smoke taint which is when it affects the skin of the grapes. it can also affect the wine. >> the fire is burning eight miles away from the nearest vineyard and wine makers say there are ways to treat the grapes. if you were at the beach and new a -- knew a shark was nearby would you go in the water. thanks to new technology you may be able to find out stay. >> life guards dove ten feet down looking for a beacon the newest tool that detects

bart is running single track service through the walnut creek station right now.. after a track fire interrupted rides on the pittsburg- bay point line. it caused delays for a few hours, but bart is making progress toward regular service. meanwhile: the glen park, balboa park and daly city bart stations are all closed this weekend.. for track work. bart is running a bus bridge through the area. but travelers are being warned: it could take up to an hour more.. to get to and from s-f-o. more of these closures are scheduled for upcoming weekends. mountain bikers in marin county beware. someone apparently tried to booby trap a popular trail. earlier this week: a biker from san rafael found a homemade p on a trail nea mountain biker beware somebody tried to booby trap a trail earlier this week. a spiked strip was found on a trail.

the sheriff is investigating. at least 16 people die when a hot air balloon crashed today in central texas. omar on what witnesses heard right before. >> investigators surveyed a gruesome scene saturday morning. what was left after a hot air balloon loaded with passengers caught fire and plunged to the earth. a woman saw the aftermath from her porsche. -- porch. >> i heard two pops and i was looking to see he was shooting. then i looked off over there and i saw a big fire ball go up. >> margaret says she often sees hot air balloon this is the area and the same company in the accident had what she called a close call in a neighbor's field about a year and a half ago. she said it was foggy, early in the morning but that the haze had mostly cleared. she believes the popping noises
