lisa chan is live at theiconnic restaurant in richmond. >> reporter: about 100 people came here for a news conference to show their support for the owner of this richmond restaurant including the mayor. on saturday, the owner of the restaurant received a 30-day eviction notice. she says she has no idea why. she is well known in the community for giving back and her story has inspired many. her mom was killed when she was 11. she was raised by her brother, was holds for a while and gave -- homeless for a while and gave birth in a shelter. then she came to richmond in 1995. >> i love richmond. this is my first job in america. um, since 1995. i never work other place. i don't have a resume'. [ laughter ] >> i got the job $7 an hour as a hostess and working hard as an immigrant and single mother

way up and [ indiscernible ] owner now for 14 years i own the restaurant. >> reporter: she hosts an annual thanksgiving dinner for the homeless and donates money and time to many bay area schools and nonprofits. the po family owns the property. the president of the company is out of state. but he says the eviction is because there is raw sewage leaking from the pipes under the restaurant. the woman says the health department inspected the restaurant friday and said everything is fine, that she doesn't know why she is being evicted. >> she wonjefferson award last year and there's a huge amount of community support for her and the restaurant. so what can people do to help. >> reporter: well, the mayor of richmond is encourage people to contact the owners, the po family, and tell them to take back the eviction or sell the property to someone local. live in richmond, lisa chan, kpix 5. the second straight day of delta airlines delays leaving more passengers stranded and

scrambling to get new flights. as sandra osborne reports from sfo, a lot of those passengers are losing patience. >> reporter: delta playing catch-up today after a computer glitch caused major problems for the airline monday. today the biggest problem isn't just a long line. it's also the frustrating news some passengers are getting when they finally make it up to the counter. >> i got a couple of points that i'm missing. >> i'm having issues alerting people with the situation. i'll be late to work stuff. >> reporter: the first person we ran into today at the airport was dealing with a canceled flight. >> it's frustrating but i understand, you know -- i work with machines, so i understand that things go wrong. >> reporter: a power outage in atlanta monday causing global computer problems for delta. the airline's ceo apologizing as they work to fix the problem. more than 1,000 flights have been canceled so far. one person had to spend an extra night in the bay area after his monday flight was

canceled. >> hopefully, i get reimbursed for the all the cabs i have had to take for coming back here, like $150 on a cab which is rough. >> reporter: stranded passengers waited for hours in chairs. one little girl napping while her family waited three hours for their delayed flight. and so far today more than 300 flights have been canceled and delta announcing today that unaccompanied minors cannot fly until wednesday. from san francisco international airport, sandra osborne, kpix 5. >> most passengers affected by the glitches are being offered refunds or allowed to switch flights for no charge. campaign 2016, donald trump stayed on message monday as he delivered his economic plan during a scripted speech in detroit but as craig boswell reports, while many republicans said that the speech was good, others say his national security positions pose a threat to the country. >> reporter: donald trump has lost the vote of another prominent republican. senator susan collins of maine wrote in the "washington post,"

but iran didn't need to hack emails. amiri publicly defected to the u.s. in 2009 before returning home to iran one year later. a clinton campaign spokesman called out trump saying what he really means by many people are saying is, i made this up. craig boswell, cbs news, the white house. >> clinton's emails are at the center of a new wrongful death lawsuit from the parents of the two of the benghazi victims. clinton's camp say there have been nine investigations into the benghazi attack and no one has found any evidence of wrongdoing. clinton is having no trouble raising money here in the bay area. as of july 1, she had raised $31 million from san jose to san francisco, that's more than president obama brought in during his 2012 run. clinton returns to the bay area in two weeks for another fundraising events hosted by apple ceo tim cook. donald trump has raised less than $165,000 in silicon valley since jumping into the race

more than a year ago. a strike by santa clara county superior court workers is now in its fifth day. the strike has shut down most operations at all 11 courthouses. only hearings deemed essential are going on as scheduled. the striking workers include clerks, researchers, janitors and family law mediators. the main issue i pay. no new talks are scheduled. court officials want a mediator right now in sacramento, the high-speed rail authority is in meetings with lawmakers asking for a $35 million increase in state funding. a 2.5-mile stretch of highway 99 in fresno needs to be relocated. that's the main commercial artery of the central valley. so far, work has been delayed by litigation over obtaining rights to private property. there's also a separate request for an additional $200 million to improve the bay area commuter rail system. firefighters are fighting a fire in napa and yolo counties.

the "cold fire" is now 90% contained. full containment is expected sometime tomorrow. it has burned more than 5700 acres and destroyed 2 buildings southeast of lake berryessa. no homes are currently evacuated. a stretch of highway 128 that had been closed is now open once again. california's biggest wildfire expanded overnight to more than 104 square miles. that's burning just north of big sur in monterey county. it is now at 67,000 acres. but an army of more than 5,000 firefighters using tankers and helicopters have been making progress. they have surrounded 50% of the fire. it's been burning for three weeks. the winds picked up overnight so there was a limited closure of highway 1 for a few hours. all lanes are now back open. new at noon police say that a serial bank robber is now behind bars. 27-year-old mary mapa was arrested last week at her east palo alto home. police say that she was behind a robbery two days earlier at star one credit union in palo

alto. she is also linked to at least eight other bank robberies in the bay area and central valley. she is in santa clara county jail on $800,000 bail. memorial services are planned for a college student killed while playing "pokemon go" in san francisco. calvin riley went to sierra high school in san mateo and played baseball at san joaquin delta college in stockton. he was shot to death on saturday night in aquatic park. police haven't identified the killer. they are checking for surveillance video. he grew up in massachusetts, boyhood friend there wrote that riley was, quote, taken by a coward who wanted to shoot up a pokey stop. the funeral will be friday in san mateo and is open to the public. in texas, a case of zika turns deadly . the concerns now being raised for expectant mothers in the state still ahead. >> plus, mouthpiece memorabilia hitting the auction block. how much the items from warriors star steph curry is expected to sell for and what

a canine officer found the 27- year-old woman's body in a wo police in massachusetts are investigating the brutal murder of a google employee. a k-9 officer found the 27-year- old woman's body in a wooded area about a half mile from her mother's home. sources tell cbs boston she was naked and burned. the woman was a google exec in new york city and was visiting her mother in a small town of princeton when she disappeared after a run. google released a statement

saying she was a much loved member of the new york team and that she was, quote, known for her ubiquitous smile, passion for volunteer work and love of boston sports. we are deeply shocked and saddened and our thoughts are with her family and friends. all rides are closed in greenville tennessee at the county fair after three people fell from a ferris wheel up to 40 feet after their car flipped over last night. one person is hospitalized in serious condition. the cause of the accident is under investigators. they are looking into reports that the car was rocking before it flips. a kansas city newspaper says that water slides where a 10-year-old boy died on sunday had not been inspected by the state since it opened two years ago. police say caleb schwab died from a neck injury while on that ride which is billed as the tallest waterslide, 17 stories high.
