monday, august 2. im kenny choi i am michelle griego. a woman appeared before a judge. jackie ward is live in oakland outside the courthouse where she was just appointed a public defender. >> she pled not guilty to those charges against her. the majority of today's court proceedings revolved around the fact of whether or not she should be allowed to use the internet. eventually, the judge said she could allow her to use the internet. christina bankston is facing charges of cyber stalking, identity theft and cyber extortion work as long as he does not discuss this case online, she will not be penalized. her mother was named her custodian and is now in the case. the bond was posted $20,000 on friday without a surety is one of the special release conditions. she is not allowed to drink

we are at south eighth street near martha. police were called at 8:45 pm after there were reports of numerous shots being fired. when they arrived, they discovered two male victims each suffering from at least one gunshot wound. one of the victims died here at the scene. the other was taken to a local hospital where he died a short time later.>> the victims are related. tragically, they are brothers. they have family who live in this neighborhood. more details beyond why they were here or if they live here, i am not sure a. >> police believe a suspect or suspects drove up to the victims who were outside and fired numerous shots. so far, police don't have a motive and no suspects have been identified or taken into custody. this shooting was possibly gang- related. anyone with information is asked to contact police.

>> police have not released the identities of those brothers and will not do so until the next of kin are notified. a new monitor report shows oakland police are still showing signs of racial bias. officers were much more likely to stop and search blacks than whites. officers actually found suspected contraband more often on whites. the newly released report shows oakland police stopped more than 15,000 cars a tween mid- november and mid-may. blacks were behind the wheel 57% of the time. whites, 11% and latinos 21%. it -- in response to the report, a spokeswoman for the police say the report was based on information the department is collecting in order to make improvements and they are committed to data driven policing and transparency to help build community trust. san francisco police are searching for a man who allegedly attacked and bit off a finger of a bartender. it happened last month on lombard street. this is new surveillance video showing the suspect outside the bar taking off his shirt.

the bartender was attempting to close the bar when a man who had been drinking their earlier attempted to come back inside. police said that the bartender went outside to tell the man the bar was closed but the suspect began attacking him. anyone with information should call police. a roof fire at the historic ferry building in a san francisco is out. it started just after 7:30 am with the fire spreading to parts of the roof. no one had to be evacuated and no injuries were reported. firefighters believe greece inside a bakery might be the cause of the fire. hearst castle is closed because the landmark remains threatened by a wildfire in san luis obispo county. the chimney fire has burned more than 31,000 acres and destroyed 48 structures. it is 35% contained. the fire is within 2 miles of hearst castle, a national historic landmark built in 1919 for newspaper magnate william hearst. crews are making

progress on the blue caught fire in the cajon pass area. cal fire says it is now 89% contained. the fire has burned more than 37,000 acres since it began four days ago. more than 100 homes are destroyed. some roads in the area remain closed but most evacuation orders have been lifted. firefighters are closer to containing the district of clayton fire in a lake county. that is the one that has been burning for a week and a half. it burned almost 4000 acres and 190 homes in the lower lake area. it is 95% contained. donald trump says he is not flip- flopping on his immigration policy. this comes as the fbi's investigation into hillary clinton's email server has uncovered tens of thousands of documents that were not previously disclosed. we have the presidential race for the white house. >> reporter: donald trump tried to clarify his decision on
