everyone, you never know when they're going to be gone. >> reporter: they were killed on 880 near the west a street off ramp. isaiah lost control one direct and lurched back the other direction trying to correct his course at that point slamming into a pickup truck. isaiah died on the scene. jr.'s mother tells me he died this evening. meese was a senior number 95 in union city who knew how to get in on the tackle. his friends are remembering a young man who's personality was larger than life. >> isaiah is the diamond of our family. junior homecoming king, great grades, great athlete, a great friend, a great cousin. it's just a cold day in union city you know. >> reporter: as for jr., his mother tells me he was a good hearted kid and that he will be

missed. in union city, joe vasquez, kpix5. also along 880. oakland police are investigating a hit and run crash and shooting. officers say the driver of a mercedes collided with two cars while speeding in the right hand shoulder then was arrived on a shooting on the high street. two people involved in the crash suffered minor injuries. this was the back up it all created two lanes were closed for the investigation. that left northbound traffic crawling. it took 2-1/2 hours to get lanes back open. >> there's -- two attempted abductions have san jose police putting out a warning. a man has been trying to snatch young women off the street. sandra osbourne on who they're looking for tonight.

>> reporter: it is surprising. i've been living here for about two years and this is the first time i've ever heard anything like that. so it is surprising. >> reporter: neighbors just learning two women were attacked in broad daylight. the most recent incident happened near hillsdale and narveas just after 5:00. police believe this man to be the attacker. he's a convicted the sex offender with prior assaults. >> i'm really sad that something like this would happen over here. it kind of like, it's not even safe for me. >> reporter: muhammad kabirjuayan owns a restaurant close to where another attack reportedly happened. covering the woman's mouth and trying to drag her into a

nissan rogue with no plates. >> we never hear of those incidents happen in willow glen. >> reporter: in both cases the women were able to fight back their attackers. however russell escaped. one of those attacks happened at the mobile home community. they're hoping to get cameras in their neighborhood. >> brock turner the former stanford swimmer was spotted in ohio today. he was standing in the backyard of his parent's home near dayton. that's the house where turner will serve a three year probation. on friday he was released from jail in santa clara county. that sentence prompted backlash against a judge and moves in the state legislature for tougher guidelines. it's been a busy week for the coast guard. today crews rescued another person from san francisco bay. it was the second rescue this weekend and the third in just

the past few days. earlier today, one of the tourists is a life guard in the uk but he wasn't able to revive the man until paramedics arrived on the scene. >> he was facing north with a life jacket on. and we thought he was going to go under. >> when we realized he wasn't going to come back out the other side of the bridge we just decided to jump in. >> the victim was transported to the hospital in critical condition. it's not clear why he was in the water. >> yesterday a group of 15 sea scouts and their adults chaperones were all rescued from the bay at aquatic park after their catamaran capsized. officials say a ship started taking on water then became grounded. a let down for fans of

collin kaepernick hoping to support him in person. he was supposed to be a special guest at a sunday church service in san francisco but he never showed up. >> we thought collin was going to be here this morning. he had every plan of being here. >> people packed the church. some even traded their sunday best for kaepernick's jersey. but a few minutes after starting, the reverend explained why he was not coming. >> the rigors of training and getting ready for the other games. >> i'm kind of disappointed that he wasn't here. >> at least he tried to come and make a stand. >> their disappointed teachers say that kaepernick's protest is bigger than football and everybody will be watching him closely from now on. tony chaplain just got a big endorsement. the police officers association announced it is backing him for

the permanent position. at least 60 people including chaplain have applied for the job. on wednesday the police commission will meet at san francisco city hall to go over the selection process. the commission will choose three candidates to submit to the mayor. a wild chase through three counties ended with a man under arrest. chp and police cars surrounded a van this morning. they'd gotten a call over a man driving erratically. that led on to city streets and ended up in cupertino. then the suspect threatened to puncture a gas can and was also waving a hammer. evidently officers persuaded him to climb out of a car. he was taken to the hospital to be booked. the wife of a man is pleading for help to find him. ken murray has been missing for three days. he was supposed to pick up his kids or thursday but never
