trump is making comments about women in 2005. on the campaign for hillary clinton, in new hampshire, first lady michelle obama slammed the trump comments and his explanation of them as locker room talk. >> i can tell you that the men in my life do not talk about women like this and i know that my family is not unusual. democrat, republican, independent, no woman deserves to be treated this way, none of us deserve this turn of events. strong men, men who are truly role models, they will need to put down women -- don't need to put down women to make themselves feel powerful. >> reporter: clinton spoke with workers at her san francisco campaign office this morning before she went to raise money. >> we know, we have already learned who donald trump is. what we have to prove in this election is who we are. >> yeah. >> and what we stand for. >> whoo! >> what we believe in. >> reporter: the controversies appear to be sinking trump's poll numbers and narrowing potential paths to victory. a trump campaign wants to flip key rust belt states from blue to red using his message on

trade and jobs but a new detroit news wdiv poll of michigan voters shows trump trailing clinton by 11 points. in a bloomberg poll of pennsylvania clinton is ahead by nine. a marquette poll shows 7 points lead for clinton in wisconsin. trump said a new rasmussen poll shows him with a two-point lead over clinton but the margin of error is 2.5 points. >> so what do you think trump's strategy is now? >> red meat. red meat. it seems like at his rallies he is really serving up the stuff his supporters love. the indictment of the media hatred of the media and establishment conservatives. he is not trying to expand his base at this point [chuckling] instead it looks like he is really focused on getting his already committed supporters to get out and vote. he is going to rely on turnout to win as opposed to appealing to new voters. >> we'll see if it pays off on election day. you can see the third an final

presidential debate live wednesday night at 6:00 right here on kpix 5. new developments in the boat that capsized on the bay and dumped 30 people into the water. kpix 5 reporter jessica flores was there when a salvage crew lifted it. jessica. >> reporter: we're here at hyde street pier and this is where the salvage crew about 100 yards out work it pull the boat up. the boat is 34 feet. experts say it can carry safely about a dozen people. 30 people were on board. that's why investigators believe the owner could face charges. inch by inch the boat was pulled from the bay. it capsized saturday throwing 30 people overboard. the chaos caught on camera. although everyone survived, police say the boat captain could be facing charges for possibly overloading the boat. here's a picture of the boat before it overturned. >> the person can be facing charges, um, definitely, you

know, driving the boat recklessly or negligently. >> reporter: two children nearly drowned that day. now investigators are trying to determine if they have life jackets on and how many life jackets were on board in the first place. by law, boats have to have life jackets to everyone on board. those under 13 have to be wearing one. >> we had one of our marine units to saved the life of one of the children who did flat line and they were able to bring him back to life. >> reporter: the coast guard today monitored as the boat was pulled up to make sure no oil was spilling. the boat finally pulled all the way up, police say without any environmental impact. and the boat was just towed to pier 39 and that's where investigators will examine and determine what if any charges the captain will face. in san francisco, i'm jessica flores, kpix 5. we are on storm watch this afternoon. rain is on the way. >> let's get right over to kpix 5's emily turner who is in for paul deanno tonight. emily. >> reporter: it is going to be

a wet day tomorrow possibly even a wet weekend. you can see the storm sitting just to the northwest corner of the state right now in california. it's already hit areas of oregon and it's slowly turning to head our way. the storm we're talking about right here is centered around this low pressure system. it's sitting just off the coast. all of these red stripes right here, that is going to be some really windy weather that's going to accompany all of that rain which you can see right here and will slowly start to head in our direction overnight. so all of this is making its way onshore. what this means for you is high surf and flood advisories starting tomorrow morning because that high tide is going to accompany all of those swells at 14 to 16 feet. coming up, i'll time out that storm for you and tell you what you can expect for the weekend. >> thank you. pg&e is getting ready. in mill valley today, crews cut down tree limbs growing a little too close to power lines. pg&e says they do outage prevention work like this year

round, but the ramp-up efforts when -- but they ramp up efforts when a storm is about to hit. a regular bicyclist on the bay trail died on the trail today. police say the man was riding along the creek trail in san leandro this morning when his bike hit a rut, he flipped and crashed. the victim believed to be between 60 and 70 years old. he died from a serious head injury. we are watching what's going on in the state capital in nevada. the nevada assembly could vote at any time tonight on a funding plan to build a new stadium in las vegas. the stadium that the oakland raiders would love to call home. until we hear from the state legislature, kpix 5's reporter da lin has some breaking news about what's happening right now in oakland. da. >> reporter: yeah. former 49ers owner eddie debartolo could be coming to the rescue of raiders fans. that's because his company's vice president is meeting with

city leaders at oakland city hall as we speak right now. they are talking about redeveloping this land and also possibly keeping the raiders here in town. while that's going on, of course, nevada lawmakers are deciding whether or not to use public money to get the raiders to move to las vegas. nevada lawmakers spent hours debating whether or not to raise the hotel tax in las vegas. they are flirting with what oakland won't do and that's the proposal to use $750 million of public funds to build a football stadium off the strip. if approved, raiders owner mark davis plans to ask the nfl to move to "sin city. >> for nevada and the legislature to get involved at this level, to be able to use public funds in this fashion, um, i think that they're very short sighted. >> reporter: even if the proposal goes through, the raiders would still need approval from nfl owners. oakland mayor libby schaaf says nevada's action will not influence her stadium plan. oakland is negotiating with nfl

hall of famer ronnie lott. lott's group wants to lease the coliseum site and build a stadium there. former 49ers owner eddie debartolo is also interesting in leasing the land. his representative is meeting with city leaders this afternoon. >> it comes to experience and building not just stadiums but housing and other business development, i mean, you couldn't ask for a more qualified group that the the debartolo group. -- than the debartolo group. >> reporter: the debartolo representative flew in this afternoon for the meeting. it's still very early. so it's unclear whether it be the debartolo family will be working with ronnie lott's group or if they will be working separately. but nonetheless, good to have options at this point for the city of oakland. live at the coliseum, i'm da lin, kpix 5. ♪[ music ] bob dylan has just added a major global honor to his already long list of accomplishments. he is awarded a nobel prize. that's coming up. >> and thanks to a change in the law and a lot of free money,xpect to see many more of these life-saving devices

requirements were unbelievable. now it's a lot easier to put them in. school districts are doing t businesses are installing them in their lobbies and places. school districts are doing it. we're going to save a lot of lives because of it. >> reporter: then santa clara county came up with half million dollars in matching grant money. the san jose unified school district jumped at the chance and is now installing nearly 100 of them on 40 different campuses. there's still about $125,000 in funding up for grabs. >> so no-brainer, right? >> it's a total no-brainer. it seems so silly, it's a simple solution for a huge medical problem. it's low cost and has a high impact. >> reporter: she survived a heart attack. >> being a survivor i know the importance of having it. >> reporter: and so again, the county has about $125,000 left of that matching grant money. they will go through all of it by encouraging everyone to send in an application to show there's a lot of demand and try to find some more money. live in san jose, kiet do, kpix 5. new at 4:00 a warning about

some halloween face paint that could contain toxic chemicals. they send cosmetics to labs. they found 21 face paints had trace amounts of at least one heavy metal like lead, cadmium or mercury. it was also found in flavored lip balm and nail polish marketed to kids. >> they need to stop jeopardizing the health of kids and clean up their act. >> parents should not have to wonder if face paint contains toxic heavy metals. >> advocates say kids are more vulnerable since their bodies are still developing. they say even small exposures can add up over time and cause significant problems. some 49er faithful got to meet one of their idols today. steve young, who held a book signing in san francisco, fans lined up outside the book passage store at the ferry building today to see the super bowl champ and hall of fame quarterback.

young is promoting his memoir entitled, qb, my life behind the spiral. he signed some books for fans and even posed for a few pictures. ♪[ music ] >> yeah. things have definitely changed. today, music legend bob dylan was awarded the nobel prize for literature. he is the first songwriter ever to win that award. the academy called dylan's music poetry for the ears. kpix 5's john ramos on the message but not necessarily the man who has spanned the generations. >> reporter: on the campus of saint mary's college in moraga, alex green's english literature class raised their hands if they were aware of bob dylan's music. most of them didn't. [ laughter ] >> his lyrics seemed unfamiliar, too. >> how many times must a cannonball fly before they're forever banned? >> how many times can a man turn his head and pretend that

>> about time. >> reporter: professor green says the writings of guys like dylan had more impact on his generation than some stuffy classic novel. and he keeps that in mind with his students. >> instead of giving them shakespeare sonnet number 9, i have them pick a song they like and say let's analyze the song, analyze why you like it because to me, poetry, music, it's all part of literature. >> reporter: he thinks dylan may have opened the door for more songwriters to be acknowledged for their literary contributions and who knows who that may be from the current generation. >> some of my students would say britney spears is literature to them. you know? [ laughter ] >> reporter: john ramos, kpix 5. >> the coast guard is warning watch out for high surf and rip currents over the next three days. a surfer in marin county says he knows all about it. >> now that winter is coming along, it can get heavy out there. it can get dangerous. so i mean, people should avoid the waters if they don't know

what they're doing. in the summer it's safer. >> swells could reach 16 feet tomorrow. and even higher by sunday. the coast guard says all boaters and beach-goers should be very careful. you have to watch out there at the water, emily. it could hit you like a rolling stone. ♪ >> oh, god. >> a second career? >> no. >> everyone really needs to stay on top of this especially if you are not an experienced swimmer. look at this. there's a storm headed our way. cloudy in san francisco. 69 in the south bay. san jose 72 degrees. 72 concord. coolest temperature 66 degrees. the storm will move south overnight bringing with it rain and winds and even a very wet weekend. all of this is surrounded by

this low pressure system. see that cloud right along the front of that right there? all this wind these red stripes will be an onshore flow pretty strong winds accompanying those showers and then this is that wet weather that's going to slowly sink down into the bay area. and then for the next couple of days, this is what it looks like. there's going to be some light scattered showers around 12:00 midnight tonight in the north bay. and then moving into the morning hours, some moderate to strong rain showers in the heart of the bay area that will then continue to move south out of the way by tomorrow night there will still be scattered showers here and there but definitely some cloud cover all over the bay area. a significant amount of rain. 2 to 4 inches in the north bay, same in the santa cruz mountains. one to two inches inland along the peninsula and not quite that much in the south bay. but almost one inch. so what this looks like is it will be cloudy tonight. winds will pick up and then the rain and the wind are going to move in friday morning. it will be an unsettled weekend

which basically means some spotty showers here and there but it's not going to be a total washout. temperatures will cool off cooler than normal this time of the year. 68 in santa rosa. 63 along the coast in pacifica. 68 in san jose. our warmest temperatures per usual will be in the inland areas 70 in fairfield as well as in concord. for your weekend take a look at this. we know tomorrow is going to be wet. no matter where you are. saturday and sunday, scattered showers. scattered -- just really depends on the time of day. and then moving into the beginning of next week, some leftover showers on monday. and then going toward the end of next week those clouds are going to move out of the way and it's going to slowly start to warm up and it will be nice and beautiful.
