election. the last minute push.. to get out the vote. now at noon, a few hours left to register to vote in the november election. the last minute push to get out the vote. good afternoon, i'm kenny choi. >> i'm -- jackie ward shows us the steps to get your registration card if you don't have it already. >>reporter: inside san francisco city hall, people are registering and voting to make sure they fulfill their civic duty before the november 8th election. if you're not registered there's still time, but you better act quickly. you need to be signed up by midnight tonight. the secretary of state's office is encouraging people to register to vote from the comfort of their home.

go to registertovote.ca.gov. clij on register to vote and it will take you three five easy steps to get set up. >> you have to link that to dmv to the -- we have to have a signature on file before someone gets a ballot to vote. >> john orange is the department of elections for the city and county of san francisco. he says voter's registration is at a record high with -- the most numbers of mail in ballots have been issued with 3,000 votes. there's a measure that each can take with his or her ballot. >> make sure they mark the ballot and make sure the voter puts his or her ballot into the ballot. they're near your public libraries and department of motor vehicle offices. in san francisco, jackie ward, kpix 5. if you're mailing your voter
