live from -- live from the cbs bay area studios, this is kpix 5 news. >> now at 5:00 p.m. a storm system sweeps through the bay area bringing with it rain, wind and even snow to the sierra. good evening. >> a wet, gloomy day in san francisco. rain came down on the golden gate bridge this morning. north bay got an inch of rain. live look at the golden gate bridge right now. the rain taperer off. more wet weather in store for tomorrow. scattered showers remaining in the north bay tonight. few of them heavy. in the south bay showers here and there over night. the deep low that gave up the rain will make room for the next low. showers ease up over night but we will get more showers

halloween afternoon and evening. jackie ward has been braving the rain all day today. >> reporter: find a silver lining. the spooky and eerie tones added to the halloween theme. you got drenched. >> reporter: we started our day by heading to marine. it was a soaker. the bounce houses at the pumpkin patch still had to be inflated. he had to climb through the soaked plastic and clear the water that collected. >> soaking wet, big time. day of being a pumpkin. >> reporter: with is your rain gear? >> i am from oregon, i don't got none. >> reporter: dealing with the rain comes with the territory. and that means unexpected repair work -- >> we heard a crack and it broke off the base.

procrastinator pumpkin pamps will be open -- patches will be open tomorrow. jackie ward, kpix 5. scary end to a halloween party in hayward. police shot a man who tried to use his rv as a weapon. >> cell phone video captured the gunfire. 20 shots were fired around 9:00 p.m. last night. officers were called to help a ranger who witnesses say got into an argument with a man in an rv. when officers arrived the suspect tried to driving his rv towards them and a group of people. one witness said no one was hurt but several parked cars were hit. the suspect who was shot was taken to the hospital. he is expected to be okay. police sex scandal will cost 3 more officers their jobs. four of the 11 identified for

having sex with an under aged prostitute will be fired. the city previously said only one officer will lose their job. they charged five current and former officers from three agencies in the same case. man is dead and a woman injured after two shootings before midnight. police found a woman dead, three hours earlier gunfire wounded a man near the coliseum. he is now in table condition. so far there are no suspects. today despite the weather hundreds of runners raced through pleasannen to honor the memory of the woman shot to death on a san francisco peer last year. today her friends and family reflected on what the charity run represents. >> reporter: from the clouds moving past it was hard to tell if pleasanton was headed for good weather or bad.

>> life is how you deal with the card you are dealt. >> reporter: in july last year she was shot and killed on the san francisco peer. her killer was a man she never met. a home homeless illegal immigrant who ended up with a weapon stolen from a law enforcement officer. the randomness made it harder for friends and family to deal with. >> so we decided to push forward and spread goodness and happiness and put on events like this that will benefit other people. >> the event was a 5 and 10k run through her home town. donations from runners and sponsors will be given to two charities. one helping physically challenged athletes and students rising above helping disadvantaged kids get to college. the name was inspired by a

facebook post she wrote the day she died. >> whatever is good for your soul do that. that is how we named this. the good for your soul run. >> reporter: 400 runners participated and it rapped up in an hour and a half. minutes before the rain started to fall. the family believes that has kate written all over it. >> ceces -- she sees us. she knows all this goodness to honor her. to keep her memory alive. >> the power of people. no mart what people come together and they make positive out of something terrible. >> reporter: the runners ended up where they started, since you can't run away from life's ugliness it is important to stop and appreciate its beauty. john ramos, kpix 5. >> she was 32 when she died.

thinking or they already voted. a thousand e-mails, some work related found on a computer shaped by huma abedin and her estranged husband anthony weiner. during a investigation into him sending lewd messages to a minor. huma abedin said she didn't know the e-mails were on the laptop. the fbi is now reviewing huma abedin's e-mails. >> we never thought we would say thank you oanthony weiner. >> reporter: donald trump is calling it the biggest political scandal since watergate. >> we have one check on hillary's corruption. and that is the power of the vote. >> reporter: a poll finds hillary clinton's lead shrunk to one point nationally but trump is struggling in key states. up just 2 points in arizona, and trailing in colorado, north carolina and pennsylvania. cbs news, new york.

tomorrow a bay area tech mogul will address back lash over the donation to the trump campaign. donated a million dollars. now some want him to cut ties with a part time partner. they have no plans to do that. coming up, san francisco might be the winner, one supervisor's plans to keep george lucas' museum in the bay area. and a rescue in the south bay, how firefighters saved a man from a burning home. ,,

house in east san jose last a life saving rescue, firefighters pulled a man from a burning house in east san jose last night. paramedics were able to revive the man. the fire broke out about 8:30 p.m. firefighters were able to knock it out in an hour. fire left 7 people without a home and no word on what caused the fire. a missing woman from san bernardino is found alive in an over turned car. rescuers were called to the scene of a car that rolled down a hill. they prevented the car from sliding further. the woman was trapped in her car for five days. it took crews an hour to pull her out. she is suffering serious injuries but is expected to

earth. the american, japanese and ssian astronauts s new video shows three astronauts returning back from earth. they spent 115 days that international space station. the three hour journey was picture perfect. the capsule landed this morning. a college held a halloween

celebration geared for kids with hearing impairments. student and volunteers ran the games at the university in rockland. kids won prizes, did crafts and had their faces painted painted and it focused on visuals. a father appreciates all the effort. >> something that helps us get to know the community and understand our own boys and it allows our boys to express themselves. >> everything was geared towards their learning style and ability. >> this was the first time event at the college and they hope to do it again next year. all right. now caught up on the doppler. two stories, the first, the rain, and second, in the foothills of the sierra. thunderstorms and snow in the seair oz. -- sierras. 12 miles south of south lake

escape this. rain around. over night lows tonight, mid- 50s. highs tomorrow will be in the mid-50s to mid-60s with a chance of afternoon and evening showers favoring the central and the north bay. not so much in the south bay. highs tomorrow, cooler than average. numbers in the mid-60s. and again in the extended forecast, increasing cloud, more showers. by tomorrow evening for the rest of the bay area. end of the week sun comes out, temperatures next weekend back into the mid-70s inland. sorry about that. it was raining yellow flags for the oakland raiders today. would the penalties prevent the raiders from remaining unbeaten on the road. kickoff, next. ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
