scene.. found.. a grisly discovery at a bay area university. right now, excavators are on scene after human remains were found on the sonoma state campus. good afternoon, i'm michelle griego. >> i'm kenny choi. this is all happening in a parking lot m on the sonoma state campus in rohnert park. this is is a live look from chopper 5. you can see crews down there sifting through evidence. this is near a heavily treed area. they have been out there all morning after a body was found in a shallow grave last night. kpix 5's anne makovec is live in rohnert park with the latest on the investigation. anne. >> reporter: yeah. and officers still have not dug up that body. they are first trying to make

sure they gather anything that they can as far as clues around the area. but the coroner is about to arrive on scene. then they will dig up the body and try to identify it at that point. this parking lot here at sonoma state university is blocked off with police tape and the body was found about 200 yards from where i am standing in that wooded area. investigators say they are looking at this as a suspicious death. an employee clearing brush made the discovery yesterday afternoon. a partially buried body on the northwest side of the campus of sonoma state university. >> part of the body is exposed. you cannot tell if it's a man or woman or whether they're clothed or lying on their back or stomach. >> reporter: giving the condition of the body, officers say the person has not been dead long. the coroner will determine the cause of death as well as who this person might be. >> there's nothing right now that stands out in our minds of a recent missing person in the

last week or so. >> it's scary. >> reporter: students got a campus email telling students to report suspicious persons and call a campus escort. >> it makes me think twice about going out at night. >> reporter: today investigators are sifting through the crime scene looking for hair, clothing or any other trace evidence and they are trying to find the entry and exit points looking for shoeprints or bicycle tracks. >> it's a very slow methodical search. we are going to ask for patience because it takes a long time. >> reporter: now, investigators say it's also possible that whoever might have tried to bury this body came in from the other side of the property which is rohnert park expressway. it is all going to be part of this investigation. live on the campus of sonoma state, anne makevoc, kpix 5. new at noon a sinking and tilting high-rise building in san francisco has prompted a lawsuit. san francisco officials announced a short time ago that the city is now suing the

developer of the millennium tower. the 58-story bill sunk 16 inches and tilting 2" to the northeast at the base. >> part of my responsibility as city attorney is to protect san francisco residents and taxpayers from unfair or unlawful business practices. that's why this morning, my office filed a lawsuit against the developer of the millennium tower. >> the lawsuit claims that the builder violated the law by failing to disclose the building's problems, despite knowing of them more than a year before the units went up for sale. wells fargo is under fire again for alleged bad behavior. this time, from the securities and exchange commission. the announcement today joins a long list of government agencies probing the company after two million fake accounts were created by bank employees. however, wells fargo didn't explain exactly what the sec is investigating for other than sales practices. a san jose teen faces a judge today for the first time since the death of his victim.

zachary cuen's family didn't answer any questions as threat of the courtroom this morning -- as they left the courtroom this morning. he is accused of beating an elderly woman during a home invasion robbery in september. miss flo died from her injuries a couple of weeks ago and today prosecutors asked the judge to charge him with murder. . taking a look at our ocean beach camera in san francisco, there is a high surf advisory in effect for the northern and central california coast today. roberta gonzales has the forecast. >> isn't that beautiful? the coast is clear. we have lots of blue skies. but with this area of high pressure out over the pacific ocean, even though it's providing us with plenty of sunshine, we have an area of low pressure that's generating some high surf. so therefore, a surf advisory in effect until tomorrow morning for all of our local beaches and that yellow highlighted area there. what we're talking about is 20- foot-high swells possibly as

>> reporter: as head of the program, helen gives free career counseling to disadvantaged teenagers and adults who face obstacles to education, training and employment. she leads about 30 volunteer mentors and offers scholarships. did you get the new amounts? napa high school assistant jeanette mulgrew says the scholarships allows many students to enroll in college studying fields from automotive technology to nursing. >> some kids have to go to work and help families pay for food on the table and the rent and just day-to-day living or helping babysit the younger children. >> reporter: valley oak high school graduate says the $1,000 scholarship paid for most of her 6 month course in medical assisting. >> it was like a miracle to me because my parents, they could not afford giving me an education. >> reporter: in all, a voice found has awarded more than $200,000 in scholarships and helped more than 200 young people in their education and
