live, from the cbs bay area area -- studios. >> hillary clinton is pointing fingers, she is singling out one person for her white house defeat. >> clashes in the streets, some turning violent. unrest around the country, including the bay area. as people protest donald trump's presidential win. >> people unhappy with the outcome of the presidential election are continuing to hit the streets in frustration. andrea borba says some are peaceful, others are ugly. >> reporter: crowds in berkeley were smaller, and subdued as they marched up broadway and oakland. in san francisco, anti donald trump protests continued saturday, as they did around the country. thousands of people flooded downtown los angeles, denouncing the president-elect and his proposed policies.

letter. people were torn. >> despite the loss, she called on everybody to move forward. a young woman is dead after being thrown from her truck in a crash. it rolled several times last night on lone tree. police said the 23-year-old ran a red light and slammed into two cars. she was not wearing a seat belt, and was thrown out. investigators think alcohol may have been a factor. the two other drivers are expected to be okay. berkeley police are looking for a group of thieves that stole 70 smart phones, they hit the apple store on tuesday, and again on thursday. they took the display phones off the counter. they are looking for at least 8 men in their late teens and 20s. police near sacramento have a new strategy for tracking down thieves who steal packages

from porches. they say thieves often stake out neighborhoods first, and follow delivery trucks so they know where and when to strike without getting caught. now, officers are having drivers deliver some fake packages. inside, a gps tracking device that tells them where the thief goes. >> we want to just let them know they, if they do steal packages they will go to jail. >> i think that's a good idea. >> according to insurance quotes.com, 23 million americans had packages stolen from them last year. several bay area agencies also plan to start deploying bait packages as we head towards the holidays. two months after a 3 alarm fire ripped through the first congressional church of berkeley, causing $2 million in damage, there are new efforts to help rebuild. church members re opened the damaged thrift store for a very special fire sale. >> reporter: today was the reunion of sorts for leslie and

the other volunteers of the first congressional thrift store. >> these ladies are in their 70s, 80s and 90s. i was the kid. >> reporter: the store was run out of the church's basement, but the building is uninhospitable, and will be for some type. >> good things are going to come out of it. >> reporter: those that frequented the store are happy to see it return, even if just for the day. >> sad, but the community's still here, and it sounds like everybody is still kicking. >> i got a wallet and a jacket and sweater. >> reporter: services have been held about a mile away at congressional bethel, and the turnout has been great. >> people are coming, and there's been a lot of joy and laughter on sunday. >> reporter: it will be another two or three months before services will be held, and maybe as many as two to three years until their building is up and running. >> a lot of work to be done. but, he have one has their jobs

explosives. four americans were killed, among them, two u.s. service members, and two contractors. 16 other american troops were wounded. the base has been attacked from the outside before, including a motorcycle bombing that killed six american soldiers last year, but today's bombing inside the base is extraordinary. bagram is the u.s. main military post in afghanistan, and home to most of the 8500 troops in the country. it's heavily guarded as you can imagine with several layers of security, including multiple checkpoints and fences. today's attack is the latest in an escalation of violence as the taliban step up attacks on western targeted. nine americans have been killed since the start of october. so far, 15 year war in afghanistan has claimed the lives of 2294 americans. . a concert hall in paris reopened nearly a year after a

deadly terrorist attack. just put a new one up for sale. and now it's time to say happy birthday! to the bay bridge. yes, it was november 12, 1936, right, 80 years ago. of the opening of the bay bridge still standing proudly and boldly. it took them, i think about three and a half years to build it. it will take them longer just to dismantle half of the bridge between angle island and oakland. the numbers right now around the bay area, temperatures mostly in the mid-50s. and mostly clear skies around the bay area as well. a very balmy day in the offing tomorrow for the bay area, but christmas in the park is starting to take shape in downtown santa hose. christmas in the park. there will be exhibits and glittering lights and a giving tree. it opens on november 25, admission is free.
