thunder. >> bash, boom. down it came and fortunately not over the restaurant. >> this is my jeep wrangler. >> there was a lot of people in the parking lot. nobody was in their cars which everybody is super fortunate. >> reporter: we're back. juliet and ryan, the rest -- restaurant to know that the restaurant is open through all of this. it happened yesterday in niles county road. police have not been able to

find the woman. >> they're making every effort possible to get into the creek. but the weather now it is not safe to be in there. >> reporter: search and rescue crews are working with state water officials. sheriff's department will be back out at that scene tomorrow morning. this is the second time in a week stormy weather has made rescue efforts more difficult. last week, a woman from bay point crashed her car near isleton. crews were not able to recover her body until yesterday because of the run off. today's storms forced crews to close down roads. >> reporter: relentless rain in the rising san lorenzo has

left -- we found sammy walter collecting run off to use to flush his toilet until water could be restored. >> a large tree fell and also the county line. >> reporter: that barreled through the area overnight. bringing with it drenching rain. downed trees and power lines. and a cascade of saturated soil. >> along the coast, heavy surf overturned part of the iconic cement ship. >> it's really crazy. i haven't seen anything like this on this road. >> reporter: the road we see a scott valley home completely washed out of the storm cutting off one side of the neighborhood from the other. >> it looks like a river. and i feel bad for the people that live up the road. for them to tkpwetd out -- get

out or not to get out. >> reporter: most people managed to still see a silver lining in all the wet weather. >> we're pretty fortunate here. most of the trees are still standing. most of the park has power. i think we're pretty fortunate. >> in santa cruz, devin feeley. we have low pressure that's now off the pacific northwest that will sink south. you can see all of the moisture wrapping throughout the low. tonight and tomorrow we'll still see showers through all of the bay area and sound. over mount hamilton there will be some snow dusting the peaks through tomorrow. with all of the rain and saturated ground. there's still warnings

throughout the area. traffic alert because of the storm, a portion of i20 is shut down because of wet weather. the closure could last until the coming week. high surf advisory tonight in ocean beach. swells up to 28 feet high expected throughout the day. despite the crashing waves. we spotted a large car go ship. huge waves rocked the pier there. that didn't keep people away. >> the frothy mix of waves and spinning sand made for dangerous conditions this morning along the pacifica coast. a huge swell pummels this sea

stopping drivers from trying to cross the water. flood waters pouring through. and roberta hernandez shows us what happened. >> reporter: in pacifica which is now usually a trickle of the creek is now a raring arena. these are waters that are all spilling and slice throughout. it's very dangerous. around it is this completely saturated soil, it's just mud. and very tender jewel lip tus trees which is now the debris right here in the river.
