wall on the border of mexico, but he'll need help to pay for his plans. president trump's sweping executive orders are likely to dominate his agenda as he meets with congressional republicans in philadelphia. >> beginning today, the united states of america gets back control of its borders. >> among them, a directive to jump start the construction of a wall along the u.s./mexico border and add more border patrol agents and detention centers in the area. congress would have to initially fund the $10 billion project but in an interview with cbs news -- >> it will be a payment, perhaps a form, perhaps a complicated form. >> the mexican president enrique pena nieto immediately fired

opened at a record high. the dow closed 'above the elusive 20,000 mark for the first time yesterday. strong earnings and reports and gains by financial companies lead the way. mr. trump said he's proud in that the business world loves him. italian firefighters now say 29 people were killed when a powerful avalanche buried a hotel. the final bodies were recovered from a hotel. the search effort lasted a week. the landslide buried the hotel in central history. nine people were pulled out alive. a criminal effort is under way. firefighters in washington state are battling a massive fire at an apartment complex that's being built. the fire broke out in lynwood north of seattle. no one was living in the buildings, but a nearby apartment complex was evacuate. two firefighters sustained

nonlife-threatening injuries. mary tyler moore is being remembered the morning by fans and colleagues for her grace and ability to make other people laugh and her groundbreaking way to pave the way. moore died yesterday at the age of 80. ben tracy has a look at her life and career. >> reporter: her name was a bit longer than most, but in the 1970s, she only needed a one-word introduction. >> mary. >> mary. >> mary. >> reporter: she was born in brooklyn in 1936 and began her career in the 1950s in commercials as happy hotpoint. her big break came from carl reiner who remembered her as the girl with three names and cast her as laura petry in the comedy "the dick van dyke show."

>> it was like being in the college for comedy. >> "the dick van dyke show" made mary ann award-winning superstar and in 1970 it was her name on the screen. as mary richards she played a single career-driven women who juggled friends at work and at home. >> you've got spunk. >> well -- >> i hate spunk! >> reporter: besides being funny, it was also a boost for feminism. it was one of the first shows where the lead female was succeeding in a male-dominated business. "the mary tyler moore show" won a peabody. its finale in 1977 was one of the most watched show of all times. >> i think i'm going to need some kleenex. >> there's some on mary's desk. >> reporter: yet moore's life had its share of pain. she fought diabetes and fought alcoholism. her only son richie accidentally shot himself and died when he was 24.

she wrote, they're suffering because of adult people, so can you please save the children and the people of syria. bana penned the note from her new home in turkey where she's lived since being evacuated from aleppo last month. she called her former hometown a city of death and told her, you must do something for the children of syria because they are like your children and deserve peace like you. bana amassed an international following of more than 360,000 when she and her mother launched a twitter account highlighting the violence in syria. president bashar al assad claimed it was fake and called it propaganda. it's still unclear what actions mr. trump will take in the war-torn country but little bana wrote if you promise to do something for the children of syria, i'm already your new friend. for a little girl whose friends have died the stakes are high. terry okita, cbs news, london.
