scene. you can see the same protesters crowding in front as travelers squeeze through. originally, this group started on the arrival level and moved up to the departure. we know of another group marching around sign ins hand determined to be heard. >> this executive order is tearing families apart. >> this is a racist islamophobic president fulfilling his campaign promise. >> it is outrage. it is un-american. it is not the country we want to be. >> reporter: protester ins the hundreds flooded sfo's terminal outside and in. their weapons, signs, chants, and song. in the sea of people, families waiting for hours for their loved ones to come home. >> he wants to come here and be

educated. he is partway through his studies and can't come back. >> we know that american values speak louder than any executive order and our neighbors and friends are willing to stand with us and protect us from persecution. >> reporter: the sounds of discontent defiant through the terminal. >> two of the families, two of the six detainee that's are there. one said all i want to do is hug my son. i had to walk in the corner. tearing up. >> what did the families say to you? >> they said help us. do something. they said do something. one of them is looking at me to do something. walk in there, break in. get arrested. she wanted me to get arrested. i get it. >> reporter: we have seen several signs by these protesters. some say no borders. the one you are looking at says

no wall. as far as the detainees here, we know of one who has been released. it is unclear how many may be inside or when they will be let go. i did speak to a few protesters here and they tell me they are vowing to stay here overnight until all detainees are released. reporting live at sfo, back to you. >> thanks cate caugurian. we are learning a student from stanford was briefly detained at jfk airport. a university spokesperson said the graduate student is a legal resident of the united states and had been returning for research trips in sedan. upon arrival in new york, she was handcuffed a few hours and released. stanford released a statement reading in part an unfortunate consequence of the new policy means students and scholars from designated countries are detainees in this country. the university of california are telling their students from the middle east to not travel

abroad. they fear if some of them leave the country, they won't be let back in. large crowds of people have gathered late into the night at jfk airport in new york to protest president trump's travel ban. they are holding signs and chanting let them in. 12 people were detained there today including one who worked as ininterpreter for the u.s. military. >> i i have a visa in my pass wort. i work with the u.s. government. i support the u.s. government from the other side of the wall. but when i came here, they said no. they >> upon being released, he still praised america as the land of freedom. president trump's order banned citizens from these seven predominantly muslim countries. it is effective for 90 days and people from syria are banned

indefinitely. andria borba is in our news room with the latest on the legal fight to try to stop it. >> reporter: it was an on call duty judge in the eastern district of new york who granted the injunction request for the immediate stop to the executive order. it cam from the aclu citing the likelihood it violated due process and equal protection guaranteed by the constitution. in two pages federal court judge ann donnelly put a temporary stop to the order. the american civil liberties union rushed into court. >> the judge in a nutshell saw through what the government was doing, and gave us what we wanted which was to block the trump order. block the trump order and not allow the government to remove anybody who has come and is caught up in the order

nationwide. >> reporter: it applies to people trying to get back into the u.s. from the countries listed under the executive order. the wording on judge donnely's junction is of note. the judge actually labels the executive order issued by president trump as misconduct. so, she basically writes in her order, you are stopped, you are enjoined from engaging in these acts and she uses the word misconduct. so, the misconduct is engaging in acts violative of the constitution. all day saturday, there were lawyers like the ones captured in this image from the new york city mayor's office working on the floors of the airport across the country. putting together petitions to get those detained out of custody. >> but our minimum, they will not be returned back to danger. >> reporter: the speed from

for a missing teen from tracy, but there is still no sign of her. jada jenkins went missing after her car crashed into alameda creek. devin fehely shows us her family is not giving up. >> reporter: in the churning muddy water, and in the tangle of trees along the bank, the fierce determination of searchers meets a parent's undying love. >> we have scoured this whole creek from top to bottom. you know, gone over the same spots multiple times. >> reporter: the alameda county sheriff's launched a second official search for jada jenkins. she struck a car and was sent careening off miles canyon road plunging into alameda creek. >> we want to get answers. we sympathize with the family. we have talked to them. >> reporter: jenkins' car was found upside down in the creek,
