>> good morning, anne-marie. president trump will hold another campaign-style rally, this time in louisville, kentucky. this time it's not over fbi director james comey but security director, but mike rogers will testify over russia's involvement in the 2016 election as well as president trump's unproven claim that trump tower was bugged. fbi director takes the hot seat this morning and the 2016 presidential election. >> i think there are a few things i'm hoping to hear first, whether americans will be investigated for cooperating or conspiring with russians who interfered with our elections, second, the scope of the investigation, and, third, a timeline toward resolving it. >> this is over claims that president obama wiretapped trump tower during the 2016 campaign. >> that's a terrible accusation to make. of course, it's not true, so let's just grow up.

>> a number of lawmakers from both parties say they have to uncover any proof of the president's claim. others are holding out for more information. >> i'd like to first get to the bottom of this before saying what should be done. i don't know the bases for president trump's assertion on this. >> i have a lot of respect for susan collins but she says we have to get to the bottom of this. he's nothing at the bottom. >> also at the capitol the first tay of many hearings for supreme court nominee neil gorsuch. they're preparing for a fight, stung after they refused to consider merrick garland. if confirmed he would replace conservative justice antonin scalia who passed away last year. president trump will meet with microsoft cofounder bill gates as well as the iraqi prime minister at the white house today. anne-marie? >> hena daniels here in new york.

thank you so much, hena. ahead on "cbs this morning," we'll talk with adam schiff, the top democrat on the house intelligence committee on the president's allegations of wiretapping and the investigation into russia's attempt to influence the presidential election. well, the man who drove up to a white house security checkpoint saturday night and told the secret service he had a bomb has been arrested. there was no bomb and he was charged with false bomb threats. earlier saturday a man jumped over a low metal barrier just outside the white house fence. he was arrested for unlawful entry. president trump was not at the white house during either incident. north korea tested a high-performance rocket engine. it's believed north korea is working to develop a nuclear warhead missile capable of reaching the u.s. north korea leader kim jong-un says the text marked a new birth for his country's rocket test industry.

he is acting very, very badly. the test said it showing meaningful advancement in engine function. and the u.s. military released this video. it shows an air strike on an isis headquarters strike near mosul, iraq, on saturday. the building was a hotel in downtown mosul. the battle to recapture mosul began six months ago. well, three u.s. soldiers were wounded sunday when an afghan soldier opened fire at a base in southern afghanistan. the afghan soldier was shot dead. an afghan army spokesman said the soldier had made a mistake and had not fired deliberately. it's been seven days since a former tennessee high school teacher disappeared with a 15-year-old student he allegedly kidnapped. elizabeth thomas was last seen at a restaurant about 45 miles south of nashville a week ago. family and friends are praying for her release. >> bring her back or allow her

to call to let us know she's okay. police say 50-year-old tad cummins is armed and danchd and believe thomas is in imminent dangerous. they believe she was brain washed by cummins. she's one of ten children. her mother is charged with five counts of child abuse. friday cummins' wife begged him to come home. >> tad, this is not you. this is not who you are. we can help you get through this. >> another student allegedly said she saw thomas and cummins kissing in a classroom. he's charged with sexual misconduct and kidnapping of a minor. this morning a colorado wildfire that forced the evacuation of 426 homes is 50% contained. the sunshine fire started sunday morning and is burning west of boulder. officials believe fire may have been caused by people. it's burned more than 50 acres.

residents who evacuated say they got out fast. >> it's not a question of being scared. you're either going to die or not die. i just wanted to be quick. >> the evacuation orders remain in effect. there have been no injuries or homes lost. and there are just 16 teams left in march madness. >> for the first time in program history, south carolina is headed to the sweet 16. >> south carolina stunned duke 88-81, and michigan rallied to upset louisville, 73-69. top seeded villanova was eliminated but the other top seeds, kansas, north carolina, and gonzaga, remain. the action resumes on thursday here on cbs. seventh seed michigan plays third seed oregon in the midwest region. in boston yesterday a group representing lgbt veterans heard loud cheers during the st.

the nasdaq finished 30 points higher. security breached security information of customers online. e-mail addresses and phone numbers were visible on the saks website. "buzzfeed" reported that tens of thousands of customers were affected. hudson bay, the company that own's saks, says they're working quickly to resolve the situation. the president of uber resigned. jeff jones joined uber in september. last week the company announced it was going to hire a chief operating officer who can help write its next chapter. uber has been hit by several controversies, including allegations that it ignores sexual harassment. he said, what guided my career are inconsistent with what i saw with my career. for $1,500 a month the program covers ownership costs and lets owners trade in cadillacs up to 18 time as year.

our top story this morning, our top story this morning, fbi director james comey is expected to testify before the intelligence house committee today. he's expected to address president trump's claims that the obama administration wiretapped trump tower. the committee holds its first public committee meeting today at the national committee. and confirmation hearings continue for supreme court nominee neil gorsuch. if confirmed by the senate he would replace justice antonin scalia restoring a 5/4 bench to the court. they'll argue gorsuch is qualified but not independent of the president. tony dokoupil has a preview of what to expect from judge gorsuch and today's hearing. >> reporter: judge neil gorsuch

has been. >> i will do all in my power. >> while supporters of the 49-year-old colorado appeals court judge say he is calm and reasonable, his confirmation hearings may be anything but. gorsuch himself has criti the confirmation process as an ideological food fight. >> i'll be looking forward to the hearings where i'll be asking him some tough questions. >> reporter: starting monday senator al franken and as many as 19 others on the judiciary committee will get to grill gorsuch who would fill a vacancy of more than a year ago of judge antonin scalia. >> i look forward to meeting with members from both sides of the aisle. >> reporter: gorsuch has degrees from the colleges. robin effrin is a professor at brooklyn law school. >> does it undercut the
