be in phoenix covering the vote. several soccer fans are recovering tonight after they got into a brawl. the violence erupted this afternoon about an hour before a mexican league game got started. police say fans of both teams started throwing rocks and bottles at each other. two people were hurt and taken to the hospital.>> it got rowdy. two clubs don't get along. they have been rivalries for years. >> how did you get hurt? >> they threw a rock at my head. >> extra police had to be called in to help control the crowd. no arrests were made. hundreds of students and parents rallied for equality at albany high school today after students were targeted in racist instagram posts. kpix 5's just of loris tells us parents are outraged but

police are not pressing charges. >> reporter: joining hands around albany high school with signs and hands. parents will not tolerate racism. this daughter is among the group of girls targeted. according to albany unified school district, a group of teenager boys posted racially offensive photos of their classmates, african-american girls, on instagram. some posted nooses and [ null ] images. >> i would never say any of those things to entertain people. obviously you have to be thinking those thoughts and be a little racist to find that funny. >> this is a hate crime. they hated these girls. >> reporter: the district is investigating who is behind the cyber bullying. >> we want to send a strong message that we don't accept this. >> reporter: valerie williams

says this is not the first form of hate speech in the school. >> we had a group of students who had walked through the halls and were raising their hands. immediately, the administration and the teachers came together and the students were talked to and discipline. >> reporter: these parents are hoping the students behind the instagram posts based discipline up to the point of expulsion.>> there is little tolerance or consequences. >> reporter: today, at least it is one step in the right direction. >> i am happy to see everyone can come together. >> reporter: the district had started a title an investigation but because the students are minors, they can't say how or if the students will be disciplined. there will be a school board meeting in now many home. we are learning a mother and her two children were among the victims of a grizzly quadruple homicide in sacramento. the victims were identified

today as 45-year-old angela vasquez, her 14-year-old daughter mia, her 11-year-old son alden and 21-year-old ashley coleman. 56-year-old salvador vasquez was arrested in san francisco on thursday in connection with the killings. the four bodies were found in his home in sacramento earlier that day. investigators have not given any details on his relationship to the victims other than the last name he shares with three of them. neighbors say that vasquez lives at the home with his wife, two children and another family member. police have not released the motives for the murders. police in san jose are searching for a driver who hit and killed a pedestrian. a man was walking on monterey road near the plant shopping center just after midnight when he was hit by the car. the victim later died at the hospital. no description of the car that hit him so far. politicians are pointing fingers after the 11th hour

flying on a friends and family pass and you know that they have certain rules, you should abide by those rules. >> police are on the hunt for the shooters who killed one man and injured 15 others inside a nightclub in cincinnati, ohio. five people remained hospitalized tonight, two in critical condition. officers surrounded the building after they got reports of gunshots at 1:30 am. police say shots were fired after several men got into a fight at a bar. investigators are working to identify those suspects. british security officials say the man behind the deadly monday attack user messaging service called whatsapp. he sent a message just moments before the rampage. investigators are asking the company for help in accessing the message. last wednesday, 40 people died and dozens of others were wounded after a man rammed his car into pedestrians on the westminster bridge before smashing it into parliament skates. the suspect was killed in the attack. this comes after the fbi asked for apple to help them unlocked one of the terrorists phones

used in the san bernardino terror attacks. apple denied the request. police in las vegas say a man who started shooting on a public bus did it for no reason. 57-year-old man is accused of shooting two people yesterday. a tourist from montana was killed and another hurt. he barricaded himself inside the double-decker bus for hours after the shooting shutting down the strip before he ended up surrendering peacefully to police. 14 inmates are still on the run after they escaped from a mexican prison through a tunnel. the tunnel is about 16 feet deep and 131 feet long. a total of 29 prisoners escaped . authorities have only been able to capture 15. officers have been coming through streets trying to find the rest. several of those inmates were members of organized crime syndicates. all of the rain we have been having maybe working wonders for the drought but it can end up costing you more at the grocery store. we took sky drone 5 to salinas

futurecast shows that we will have some moisture and some fog overnight but that will do it. satellite radar shows a few showers overnight but that low pressure will get pushed to the north as high pressure builds in. weather advisories are posted in the sierra with the rain turning to snow above 5000 feet . these advisories are in effect until 8 am tomorrow. futurecast shows high pressure building in. partly cloudy start tomorrow and then sunny through thursday. another shower or two overnight and then clearing and breezy on monday. we will warm into the mid-70s by wednesday. a little disturbance comes in thursday. overnight lows tonight will be down to 40 as santa rosa. 44 for livermore and 44 for fairfield. sunrise at 7:03 am. sunny skies

going out on a limb... to save a centuries-old oak tree in livermore. there's concern it has the a group of nature lovers are going out on a limb to save a tree in livermore. >> it has the potential to hurt people but kpix 5's george ramos shows us neighbors are convinced it can continue to stand the test of time with help. >> reporter: long before sunset park was ever created, this valley oak stood right here. at 300 years old, the tree was here before this country was created. that is what has people so fired up. it all started when we came out here and we saw this fencing.

>> the livermore area recreational park district cornered off the tree and left a sign saying it was under examination to see if it would be cut down. two arborists report confirm that some branches contain rocks and cavities in the district says one of them should break off and someone could be hurt or killed.>> it is a heavy-handed, near to -- knee-jerk reaction that most cities have. it is risk management. >> the neighbors say their oak is a heritage tree and that the arborists reports do not reprimand removal. instead, they advise relocating the nearby play structure, pruning and adding support devices to the tree and erecting a fence around it warning the public to stay back. >> are you optimistic that the public is being heard on this?>> i know they are being heard. >> reporter: an online petition was started and quickly got more than 300 supporters.
