is live in oakland with the latest. >> reporter: the streets are still shut down near the scene, but the new news this morning, very disturbing, a fourth person has been found dead inside of the building here behind me. the person was found on the top floor, they went in with cadaver dogs and drones to try to find this person after they knew that somebody was missing. in the meantime, the investigation into how this fire started continues. city records show oakland fire inspectors notified the building's owner three days before the fire. this apartment building on san pablo had several violations including the fire alarm system, the sprinkler system, smoke detectors and fire extinguishers. people were trapped in their home as flames consumed the building yesterday morning. in desperation, some type blankets together to climb down from their windows. the building housed

budget, the final piece of the old bay bridge is being removed. this completes phase 2 of a three phase project. kpix 5 reporter jackie ward tells us what went into the removal. >> reporter: it was an engineering feat to build the bridge in the 1930s, but 100 million pounds of steel in the modern era. today, the last of those steel trusses is on its way down slowly. this is time-lapse video taken over the span of two hours and shows you how long this process will take as the last piece of the old bay bridge is removed. >> a great deal of time and attention has been put into it. we are pleased to be at this point, ending an era, but also beginning a new era. >> reporter: the truss weighs 1.7 million pounds and is 288 feet long. at one point, the bridge supported two railroad tracks on the lower deck, three truck lanes and six lanes for car traffic on the upper deck.

even with meticulous planning and work that went into the project, engineers and contractors are finishing this ahead of schedule by more than 2 years. >> the reason we are so far ahead of schedule is because the contractor was willing to take on those very advanced engineering measures. >> reporter: mother nature is playing a key role in today's removal and engineers are leaning on the tides for help. after an incredibly lengthy process that can't be seen by the naked eye. >> as the water comes up, the barges start to come up. when the barges come up high enough, those blue beams will connect in and touch the bottom to the truss. >> reporter: from there, the truss will flow to the port of oakland where it will be disassembled. demolition is not complete. phase 3 will begin this fall where they removed the marine foundations from the bay. in oakland, jackie ward, kpix 5. >> the bike and pedestrian pathway will be closed for the duration of the removal process

house intelligence committee meeting today including sally yates, the hearing has been called off and the department of justice said they would not allow yates to testify. if congress is going to conduct an independent russian hacking investigation, chairman nunes should not be part of it, time to recuse. and, democratic minority leader nancy pelosi tweeted this saying that time is long overdue for house speaker paul ryan to call on devin nunes to recuse himself at the least. a manhunt is underway for the gunman refused -- responsible for an ambush style attack overnight on two florida police officers. the officers were scoping out a notoriously gang ridden area in miami at the time of the attack. the windchill -- windshield of the car was riddled with bullet holes, one of the officers fired back but it is not clear if the gunmen were hit. last night, the director of the

police department pleaded with the community for help in identifying the shooters. >> we need you now to step up to the plate. these are people causing havoc in the community and we are not going to stop. this is going to ignite a bigger fire within us to protect our citizens. >> the officers' injuries are non-life-threatening. police say it is unclear whether the suspect knew they were targeting police. a controversial proposal that would have allowed crude oil trains to pass through milpitas has been stopped in its tracks, that's after the san luis county board of supervisors voted to reject the project at a local petroleum refinery. it could have brought 80 car trains loaded with crude oil through milpitas and other towns in the bay area. it will cost more to ride the golden gate buses and ferries, ticket prices are going up by $.50. board of directors improve the increase in hopes of bringing more money. the district is facing a $1 million deficit over the next 5 years. the price hike goes into effect

july 1. california bar owners have something to cheer about, a bill that would extend alcohol service hours to 4 a.m. has cleared its first senate committee hearing. currently, the state does not allow alcohol sales after 2 a.m. the legislation is supported by a coalition of organizations including the california restaurant association, the california travel association, uber and others. santa clara county members came together for the transgender pride flag raising ceremony. this is ahead of the upcoming international transgender day of visibility in april. the blue and pink striped flag is raised to celebrate a major milestone in lgbt history, this is the second year the county has invited community leaders, advocates and members of the public to participate. the flag raising will also kickoff one month of community resource and awareness events. >> it is now more important than ever that we stand up for the transgender and gender nonconforming community and make them know that they are seen, they are understood, and they are valued.

workers.. for more than a year. now he's suing the company. the suit was filed by an employee named dewitt lambert. it alleges that co-workers hazed him.. by calling him the phone a tesla employee claims he was arrested and racially discriminated against by coworkers for more than a year and now he's suing the company. the suit was filed by an employee named dewitt lambert that alleges coworkers hazed him by calling him the n-word and stole his phone to take an appropriate videos. he says it happened on the assembly line at the plant in fremont. he says when he complained to the hr department, his concerns weren't properly addressed. tesla refused his claims and released a statement saying, we will continue to take action as necessary including parting ways with anyone whose behavior prevents tesla from being a great place to work. he is suspended with full pay while tesla investigates. in texas, one file -- mother has filed a complaint with the tsa saying the agency treated her family quote like dogs and the agent in a purple he patted down her 13-year-old

son. don champion shows us the viral video sparking controversy. >> reporter: jennifer williamson posted this facebook video of a tsa officer patting down her 13-year-old son aaron. she said the experience left him traumatized. >> we were treated with other disrespect -- utter disrespect. as if we were criminals. >> reporter: it started when a laptop was found in a teenager's bookbag. in the video which has gone viral, the agents explains the procedure, then fronts -- pats down his backsides and the front of his legs. he then uses his hands for patdowns over sensitive areas of the boy's body. >> they went over his sensitive areas a little more than necessary, especially given that he was not wearing bulky clothing or anything like that. >> reporter: williamson says she asked that her son be screened another way because he has sensory processing disorder, which makes him sensitive to touch.

though tsa says procedures performed by the agent here are part of new standards that went into effect earlier this month, instead of several different variations, there is now just one fully -- full-body patdown. williamson claims they were held at the checkpoint for about an hour, causing them to miss their flight but the agency says they were there for approximately 45 minutes which included the time it took to discuss screening procedures with the mother and screen three carry-on items. the new tsa procedures were put in place after a 2015 homeland security audit found major lapses in security. don champion, cbs news, dallas. >> the tsa says the patdown took approximately two minutes in total, two police officers were called to observe and mitigate the mother's concerns. there may be a future for some 2.5 million recalled a galaxy note 7 samsung phones, samsung said they would refurbish some of them and break them down for parts and precious metals.
