good morning from the studio 57 newsroom at cbs news headquarters in new york. i'm meg oliver in for anne-marie green. foreign policy takes center stage for the trump administration as secretary of state rex tillerson prepares to make his first official visit to moscow tomorrow. meanwhile officials are defending last week's missile strikes in syria. roxana saberi is in new york with latest. good morning. >> good morning, meg. top officials are taking a tough new stance for russia and its support for the syria regime, but they're offering different views on the future of syria's president. ahead of his first diplomatic trip to moscow, secretary of state rex tillerson called on russia president vladimir putin to rethink bashir al assad.

our top stories this morning, the trump egypt is reeling after two bomb attacks. they took place at two churches on palm sunday killed 44 people and injured more than 100. isis has claimed responsibility. and the trump administration is defending the u.s. missile strikes in syria. it's also pressing russia over what it knew about last week's deadly chemical attack in syria. secretary of state rex tillerson makes his first official visit to moscow tomorrow. special elections are coming up tomorrow and the following tuesday to replace house members.
