on an elementary school campus. let's ge breaking news. a school shooting in san bernardino on an elementary school campus. >> let's get to allen martin. >> reporter: we have learned two people are dead now.

two children have been air lifted to the hospital. this is after a gunman opened fire at north park elementary school and police are calling this an apparent murder- suicide. some sort of domestic dispute started this. according to san bernardino police the shooting happened inside of a classroom. so in front of those kids and as i said injuring two of them. let's take a live look from overhead. we are being told one of the victims is a teacher. no word on what grade he or she teaches. police say the shooter is down. is no longer a threat. the kids all gathered on the ball fields, the rec fields. they are being taken to a nearby high school. this elementary school has an enrollment of about 500 students and two of them have been injured in this shooting. they are gathering there so the parents can start to arrive and pick up their kids either from the school or shall. so again to recap as we will continue to follow this story and bring you updates but two

people, two adults are dead, two children air lifted to the hospital. we do not have any word on their condition but this is after a gunman opened fire at the elementary school. the gunman is down, apparently a murder-suicide. kenny. >> allen, thanks if for that update. here in the bay area police are trying to piece together a deadly shooting. jessica flores reports. >> reporter: detectives piece together what led officers to shoot and kill a suspect. it started at the 7-eleven where a suspect and another customer got into an argument inside the store. the suspect pulled a gun on the customer. police are not confirming that detail but investigators do say a customer flagged down a parks officer who was driving by and reported seeing another customer with a gun. that is when just before midnight the officer radioed for help.

>> i know one officer, by himself was with multiple occupants in a vehicle involving a firearm. the officer asked for expedited cover, which basically means get there now. >> reporter: free mont police rushed to the scene. at one point they rushed the vehicle and made it to the walgreens alley way. >> they kept asking the subject to come out and he wouldn't respond. >> reporter: 15 minutes went by and then he heard loud bangs. >> i heard the gunshots and then the ambulance. that was it. >> reporter: fremont police say two officers fired their weapon. they did not say if the suspect was found with a gun or what exactly prompted the shooting. no officers were injured. the two officers that fired their weapons are on paid administrative leave while

police investigate. reporting in fremont i'm jessica flores kpix 5. >> this is their third police shooting this year. in about an hour the man accused of murdering a richmond mother is set to appear in court. lawyers say -- investigators say lawyer mcbride shot and killed 29-year-old franklin in front of her two young sons last tuesday. he was arrested the next day in sacramento. the 43-year-old is in jail with bail set at more than $3 million. force wells fargo says it will take back $75 million in bonuses from two executives. details of a new internal report were released today and the report blames ceo johnson and other connectives for pushing unrealistic sales goals at the bank. they say he did not do enough to -- the supreme court has a full house. the newest justice has been

sworn in. neil gorsuch took the oath at the white house. as craig boswell reports, it was a real battle to get there. >> reporter: president trump walked into the white house rose garden with the man he nominated to the united states supreme court. >> and i got it done in the first 100 days. that is even nice. you think that is easy. >> reporter: justice neil gorsuch who was confirmed by the senate on friday wants clerk for justice anthony kennedy and it was kennedy that administered the oath. justice gorsuch thanked the president for his if nomination. >> i'm humbled by the trust placed on me today. >> reporter: the white house event followed a private swearing in at the supreme court with the rest of the justices in attendance. it took just 66 days to get justice gorsuch through the confirmation process but it was

a rough ride. republicans had to change the rules in the senate to get the job done. by simple the vote to a simple majority, the republicans bypassed the objections of democrats. many of whom who were angry about the snub to president obama's nominee. >> we are poised to hasten that destruction. >> >> reporter: gorsuch now restores the court's conservative majority. craig boswell cbs news the white house. >> gorsuch is seated just in time to hear a closely watched case about religious rights. the trump administration is receiving strong support for the president's decision to bomb a syrian air base last week. 57% of americans approve of the attack while 36% disapprove. only 18% want to see full military involvement in syria. missile attack was in response

our baseball weather. but first jackie ward live with what is new at at & t park. >> reporter: this has to be one of the best days of the year. there is excitement with every fan here as we look forward to a promising season, a lot of familiar returning faces. we spoke to some fans buying their home opener gear. giant fans today is a day worth celebrating. they have been going to the homeowner for the past 25 years. >> opening day at & t is my favorite holiday. i look forward to it. we were the first ones here. giants going to have a great year. >> reporter: sarah stafford tells us she made the trip down dark and early this morning. >> it's a holiday. national holiday. it should be. >> reporter: it's the team's 18th season at at & t park. the 60s in san francisco. and as always the giants organization is taking care of its fans. with free swag and dozens of games. that tries to capture the

a shooting at an elementary returning now to our breaking news out of san bernardino in southern california. a shooting at an elementary school. two adults were killed. two students were injured and taken to the hospital. the shooter is down. the shooter is no longer a threat this afternoon. this does appear to have been a murder-suicide. you're taking a live look right now outside the school where some of the students are being packed into buses. they're being taken to a nearby high school where their parents can pick them up. as delta delays drag on for a fourth straight day, one passenger has found a way to cab in on the chaos big time. laura bloom says she has made $11,000 after she and her family were bumped from their flight from new york city to florida. bad weather canceled their original flight but once the storm cleared they sacrificed their spots on stand by. >> there were so many people at

the airport, people heading to weddings, people going to funerals. people going to see their dying parents. who had real reasons to go. of course we had a reason to go, to see our family. but it wasn't a life or death situation. >> more than 3,000 delta flights were canceled over the weekend and the airline says they hope to have all of their flights back on track later tonight. move over general motors tesla is the moe the most valuable auto maker in the united states. tesla had a market value of $50.84 billion today. it's also inching closer to the world's most valuable auto makers. honda has a value of $54 billion. and toyota is worth about three times that. taking a look at our financial markets are doing right now. checking wall street. the dow is up 38 points. it is time for a check on our weather forecast. roberta gonzalez having a great

afternoon at the ballpark. roberta. >> time to play ball. >> reporter: it's amazing being here. this is the 18th season the san francisco giants have been playing here at at & t park. i've been to about every single one. what a day for some baseball. you know we had a weak disturbance that rolled through the bay area in the over night hours with a little bit of light rain showers. that was over the santa rosa area. a few flurries at mt. hamilton. what we have going on right now, if you can take a look at the sky, we call it partly cloudy and you could not ask for a better day to play ball. current temperature is 58 degrees. let's get to it. it's our satellite and radar. you could see that little wave pass through the bay area. as it did so we had the cloud cover and a few sprinkles. we have our high temperatures for the day right smack where they should be for this time of the year. we're talking about upper 50s

in pacifica. low 60s around the bay and peninsula. my seven day forecast will be 70. otherwise southwest winds 5-10 miles per hour throughout much of the bay area. becoming a little bit bearable later. if you are heading to at & t park where are you? you should be here. game time. we do have a temperature near 60 degrees. i've got to tell you it's the absolutely glorious out here. sure a little bit of a breezeway when that kicks up it feels refreshing with that temperature already near 60. we are here at ta -- at at & t park. it's a great opening day here in san francisco. what are the changes from 18 years ago and today? i'll be calling my buddy jackie ward in here. she's been here since 3:00. i know you're from boston. so tell me how do you compare fenway park to at & t park? >> fenway is charming and

endeering. it will hold a special place in my heart. it's that old school charm. to be a resident of san francisco and to come to this park every year it's just beautiful. and they really make it so interactive for the fans. it's got that modern feel while appealing to the old school san francisco. >> reporter: you had that big green mall. the monster. there is nothing like a game at fenway. but when they constructed this field, i didn't know what to expect. i love it. there is a lot of old school charm. we have some changes back here and our photographer joseph takes a look at it. that is where the kids will play baseball. they are relocating that. tell me about what they are building underneath the coke bottles. >> they are relocating and modernizing that baseball field. the replica of at & t park. it will come back. it's just not that there right now. it's a toyota setup.

but as far as the parents experience when they are over in that fan lot, this will be giant video screens of the game. so the parents can catch their kids and the game at the same time. >> something i enjoyed last year every time we had a san francisco giants win over in the outfield there is a flag pole and they would bring up a flag a very special one. tell us about that. >> of course after every home win they play tony bennett i left my heart in san francisco and raise a flag with a heart with sf in the middle. that there are 100 plus games to a season. some were saying let's bring back that 90 plus win season. i like that energy. we're not starting off on the right track but it's super early. >> reporter: we dream big. that is what so good about oakland. it's a new season.

website kpix.com. >> we will keep you posted throughout the day there. and of course have live reports at 5:00 and 6:00 tonight. i know allen martin was down there covering it. he's been watching what is going on in san bernardino since it happened at 10:30 this morning. you're looking at live pictures of students holding hands, being taken out of that elementary school where a shooter opened fire earlier this morning. and obviously some of these kids not necessarily those that you're looking at but some kids at the school did see this happen. it was apparently a teacher who was shot. we don't know if it was a man or woman. but we have two adults who have died, presumably one of them is the shooter and two children that have been injured. >> and the san bernardino police chief is tweeting out saying the threat is down. two adults deceased in the school and two students sent to the hospital. but at least for now we know
