looking far gunman that wounded three people over night. it happened at 2:30 this morning. police say is that the victims were taken to the hospital with critical injuries. police are asking anyone with information to give them a call. people angry over the outcome of a shooting in san francisco are gathering at the hall of justice. the district attorney found the officers were justified in shooting 21-year-old alma car back in 2015. this 3d animation based on witness testimony if and forensic evidence showed what happened that night from community leaders however say they are horrified by the district attorney's decision. santa clara police have made an arrest in the sex assault case. brendan forbie allegedly attacked a woman on february 28th. she fought back saying the man ran off. they are facing charges of assault with intent to commit rape and kidnapping. a midwest man hunt has

ended. authorities have been hunting for joseph jakubowski. police caught him last night without firing a shot. >> reporter: joseph jakubowski had been on the run for nine days since police say he broke into a gun store in janesville, wisconsin and stole 18 firearms. he was arrested about 100 miles west of there after a tip about a suspicious man. >> the sheriffs office received a call from a resident reporting that someone was trespassing on their property and sleeping in a makeshift tent. >> reporter: jakubowski had an associate video tape him as he mailed a 151 page manifesto to president trump last week. it contained a list of grievances against the government and antireligious sentiment. >> d-day. today is the day. >> reporter: police say three

hours after mailing that man festty, jakubowski robbed the armageddon gun shop. >> this morning probably law enforcement officers and many citizens here around the country are breathing a sigh of relief. >> reporter: investigators have been piecing together jakubowski's profile and any possible motives for an antigovernment crew said. they say he's had several run ins with the law including resisting arrest. alex ortiz for cbs news new york. >> jakubowski has a lengthy criminal record. his family says he hasn't worked since january and had nothing left in his car which he burned before he disappeared. cities across the country fighting crack down. they two to federal court to protect the right to sanctuary city status. jessica flores is live in san francisco with this morning's

legal arguments. jessica. >> reporter: the hearing lasted a little over an hour. it was a show down over how trump's order on sanctuary cities and counties should be interpreted. nothing was decided today but it could be the first step in blocking trump's immigration plan. protesters marched in front of the federal courthouse in san francisco as president trump's order on so-called sanctuary cities today faced its first legal challenge. santa clara and san francisco counties argue the president is illegally threatening to slash billions of dollars from jurisdictions that don't help enforce immigration laws. >> an attempt to bully jurisdictions into abandoning their sanctuary city policies by the use of an unconstitutional executive order. >> reporter: but the justice department had a different, narrow interpretation. arguing a small amount of money would be at stake. >> as its been typical with the

trump administration what we heard today was all over the map. quite contradictory to what the executive order itself says. they have no idea how this will be applied which lands us in an argument that it should be declared unconstitutional. they want jurisdictions to process possible deportation. opponents of the plan says it makes it harder for undocumented immigrants to report crimes. >> a drop in reporting domestic violence situations because they are afraid their information will be transported with that. >> reporter: they didn't say when he will decide on this case but that they will be

coming very soon. reporting life i'm jessica flores kpix 5. china is warning the trump administration and north korea to back away from a potentially catastrophic clash. north korea is accusing the u.s. of wanting to annihilate the country after president trump decided to send a navy strike force to the korean peninsula. so far they have conducted four missile launches. it is expected to carry out its sixth nuclear test. the pentagon's latest action in the middle east may be sending a message to north korea as well. cbs reporter craig boswell shows us a closer look at the mother of all bombs being dropped in afghanistan. >> reporter: the pentagon released a video -- it sent a mushroom shape cloud of smoke and debris into the sky. the 21,600-pound bomb killed 36

breeze there. temperature wise we are in the 50s. after dipping down to 38 degrees this afternoon. this system is cool in livermore. you couple in the current wind speed. across the bay in oakland it's also at 13-15. also in redwood city it's a breezy afternoon. these winds will continue to blow. fluctuate about 10-20 miles per hour adding a bit of a chill to the air but it is sunny and it is dry. it will remain dry until about sunday at high noon. long range forecast shows chances of dry weather pattern after wednesday. so we have this huge ridge of high pressure that is encompassing the entire state of california. here's the easy commute. dry pavement. and forge ahead to saturday morning. great look morning. bright sunshine. clouds begin to increase around 3:00 in the afternoon becoming cloudy. and for this sunrise services on sunday. mostly cloudy skies with rain arriving around the lunch hour in the north bay. scattered light rain showers during the afternoon.

the footage is quite fascinating. there is a story where you retrace the steps. >> first thing we are speaking to a ride in the tour de france. american riding in the tour since in the 1990s. soy said about retracing the 1928 tour de france on a 1928 vehicle. that weighed twice as much as a modern bike. it was 1,000 miles longer than the tour de france is today. we tracked down amazing footage. it's been a five year journey and doing a one time only theatrical screening of it in san francisco tonight. it's the first documentary feature film shot with a 4k camera using french lenses. so equivalent to super 35-

with their furry all right every friday we check in with our pet expert to tackle issues with what pet owners are facing with their furry friends. topic is separation anxiety. we have a question from viewer seth shepard. my boyfriend and i own a chihuahua that barks very loudly. what do we do? especially if someone like body is in this situation? ? i have to say it's a great question and probably the most difficult question to tackle for me in veterinary medicine. thankfully we have amazing veterinary specialists. i will usually recommend you talk to them. you have to -- it's really true. you never know they could have a urinary tract infection or other disease that is making them not feel as normal as they'd like to feel. they are more stressed than they would be normally. in this particular case it may be a behavioral problem.

we want to consider after we have ruled out everything to send them to a behavioral specialists that has the tools to be able to guide these people to make sure there is nothing happening in the household that might lead the dog to feeling anxious and the setup the dog that is living in doesn't lead to the the dog being anxious. >> what else could lead to anxiety issues? >> it's a rge list. sometimes the dogs are genetically pre disposed to being an anxious dog. abandonment issues tend to be because they are feeling fearful nobody is coming back. they have -- >> no one would leave this dog. >> they have no sense of time. when they leave the house no one is coming back. so everybody this is body. he is bacon's son. last week we had bacon on. my dog's nephew. >> i've got to get me one of
