morning. from the broadcast center in new york city, i'm jericka duncan. ka captioning funded by cbs ka it's thursday, may 25th, 2017. this is the "cbs morning news." police in manchester make two more arrests linked to the concert suicide bombing that left 22 people dead. as the investigation grows, british police have reportedly stopped sharing intel with the u.s., concerned over leaks. plus, montana's republican congressional candidate was charged with assault overnight and hit with a handful of rescinded endorsements after allegedly body slamming a reporter to the ground.

eight police officers in this area alone, some of them armed. we're going to see more of that increased security in crowded places like this because they have upped the terror level to critical in the uk. manchester's chief constable has told us he'd made the point this is a network. it's not just salman abedi acting alone. we're also hearing he was not only radicalized in syria and libya but right here in manchester. authorities in the uk have made two more arrests this morning trying to track down accomplices of manchester arena bomber salman abedi. at least six others were picked up in northern and central england wednesday including abedi's brother. another brother of abedi and abee de's father who both live in libya have also been detained. >> reporter: british officials

say this video shows abedi at a shopping mall last friday possibly buying the backpack he used to detonate the bomb this week. it revealed a sophisticated device that used screws, and a detonator. police remain focused on finding the bomb maker who they say may still be at large. amid ongoing investigation people here in manchester and throughout the uk are refusing to let the attack keep them from going on with their daily lives. football fans who faced tight security erupted in cheers yesterday as manchester united defeated ajax amsterdam in the final soccer game. pop star aryan na grande was scheduled to perform today and

tomorrow. they decided to suspend the tour. they said, quote, our way of life has once again been threatened, but we will overcome this together. each day we're learning more about the 22 victims in the attack. those identified range in age from 51 to 8. they were moms picking up kids from concert, teenage super fans of ariana grande and, of course, 8 yard saffie rose roussos who was at the concert with her mom and sister. eileen mcleod, 17-year-old holy rutherford and her boyfriend. last night, campbell spoke to the crowd about her daughter. >> i ask you to do same.

they consider it possibly unreliable and possibly fake. >> reporter: sources say the fbi obtained the game-changing document in the spring of 2016. it cited a purported e-mail. the "washington post" reported that the document was unreliable, possibly a fake product of russian intelligence and could have been part of what sources tell cbs news was moscow's effort to plant fake news into the bloodstream of the election to discredit clinton. but before it was discredited, the document reached the highest form of law enforcement. fbi director james comey thought if it got out it would discredit the investigation. so he made the unusual announcement that he would. >> our judgment is no reasonable

"post-gazette" reports the completion of jury selection for bill cosby's sex assault trial. the jury of six alternates will hear the case starting june 5th in a philadelphia suburb. and danny mathers and her body shaming case. mathers was charged with misdemeanor of privacy. she photographed an elderly woman who was naked in a gym locker room and posted it on snapchat with a mocking caption. mather was ordered to clean up graffiti for 30 days. confederate monuments are now protected by law in the state. a bill signed by the governor blocks changing or removing monuments that are more than 40 years old. lawmakers call the monuments a tribute to slavery. and "the new york times" says the secretary of education would not rule out funding private schools that discriminate. betsy devos was questioned yesterday by a house panel. she said states should decide if schools that won't admit lgbtq

♪ i'm a rocket man the pentagon is hopping aboard the phantom express. that's what boeing calls its experimental spaceplane. the company landed a $146 million contract yesterday to build the xs-1. the designers hope it will take small satellites into orbit on a daily basis within three years. >> on the "cbs moneywatch" now, the fed is on track for a rate hike, and a child car seat recall. jill wagner is at the new york stock exchange with that and more. good morning, jill. >> good morning, anne-marie. investors are poring over minutes from the fed's last meeting. that i show the fed officials are ready to finish winding down that massive stimulus plan put in place during the financial crisis. stocks on wall street finished higher for a fifth day in a row. the dow gained 74 points. the s&p finished 6 points higher, the nasdaq finished 4 points higher.

the fed raised its key rate in december and march. most analysts believe two more rate hikes are on tap this year with one as soon as next month. opec members are expected to formally extend oil cuts when they meet in vienna today. in november opec agreed to cut production of barrels by 1.2 million barrels a day. non-opec members like russia chipped in another 1,000 barrels that pushed the price higher, but that's expected to expire in june. graco is recalling its car seats. the webbing fails to meet federal safety standards according to the national highway safety administration. they say in the event of a serious crash the harness webbing can break. owners can call graco for a free replacement. and facebook is expanding its fund-raising feature. in march facebook launched a charitable giving tool that

behind the bombing widens. the british government has reportedly stopped sharing intelligence on the bombing with the u.s. after leaks. the british government is livid, according to the bbc. president trump is in brussels for a nato meeting where prime minister theresa may is expected to talk to the president about the leaks. and scott pelley spoke to a couple who were in the foyer of manchester arena when the bomb went off monday. phil and kim dick were waiting for their 17-year-old daughter tamla and their 15-year-old granddaughter sasha. they described what they saw. >> out of it, there was a little girl is stuttering toward me with all her blond hair all in her face, a big gash on her mouth, blood gushing out of her shoulder. >> kim half carried her and half dragged her to the foyer doors. initially laid her down. >> blood was coming out. >> she was choking on the blood. >> what did you see, phil?
