santa rosa and alameda boulevard. when they arrived, he was already word -- he was already dead. no word on how he died. the second defendant on the ghost ship fire appeared in court. matt harris was arraigned and faces 36 counts of manslaughter for his role in the deadly fire last december. they said harris plan the illegal party at the warehouse and his case was continued until later this week. the master tenant at the warehouse, derick almena, is expected back in court thursday and we are getting our first look. the stabbing of a middle school student. police arrested a 44-year-old -- of 44-year-old near the library in millbury. a 13-year-old boy was stabbed multiple times with a pocket knife on monday afternoon, and unprovoked attack. the suspect was described as

homeless and attacked the boy at random. the boy was helped by friends and library staff and is now recovering. new developments in the bill cosby trial. after calling a single witness, the defense rested. attorneys for the entertainer questioned him for six minutes. cosby announced he would not take the stand and during deliberations, they could begin today. a pair of setbacks for the president this noon. a pair of federal -- a federal appeals court has blocked the travel ban. they found it discriminates based on nationality and attorneys general from maryland and d.c. said they will sue president trump allegedly violated the constitution by retaining business ties that create a conflict of interest. this news as the first family settles into the white house together for the first time. the president of first lady melania trump and their son arrived last night. barron trump finished his school year at a manhattan private school and the presidents attorney general will face senator is investigating russian meddling in the 2016 election. reporter seth lennon on how the testimony from james comey changed the court.

>> reporter: attorney general jeff sessions will appear before lawmakers investigating russian meddling in the 2016 election and answered questions in a public hearing. >> what role did he play, if any, in the comey firing. at that point, he was supposed to be recused from the investigation and have nothing to do with it. >> reporter: sessions was scheduled to testify about the budget tomorrow before a different committee but after realizing most of the questions would be about the fired fbi director and russia, sessions said instead he will testify before the state intelligence committee. >> we want his side of it and the facts out there. >> reporter: sessions recused himself back in march after admitting he had not disclosed two meetings with the russian ambassador in 2016. james comey suggested there might be more to it than that during his testimony last week.

causing a mudslide to smash atv news van. the hillside is dried up and you can see it in the sky drone5 video but the roads need work. >> there are potholes everywhere. the alignment on my car can tell you that. >> reporter: emergency paving started this morning on the southbound stretch from summit road to vine hill road. monday through thursday, the number two lane will be shut down from 7:30 in the morning until 2:00 in the afternoon. >> we all travel that hill and we needed and it has to be done. >> a short stretch will be worked on each time and the crews will shut down the southbound number two lane on friday and there are signs alongside the highway warning drivers before they actually get to the construction zone. one lane for the delays. caltrans could be having delays

dan fan got on his kayak on thursday morning but hasn't been seen, since. el dorado deputies, the coast guard and others looked for him. they suspended the search because of weather conditions. is the brother of an alameda county sheriff's office employee. police are looking for a robber who took off with hundreds of dollars in donations meant to help save homeless dogs. a man grabbed pali boucher's neck as three others took her cell phone, laptop and cash for rocket dog rescue, the shelter she found it. it happened in vernal heights as she came home from a fundraiser. pali boucher said the neighborhood is changing. >> there are people moving in with money and resources into an area that might not be the best area. >> she will work hard to replace the donation money lost. since 2001, they have saved 8000 dogs from being put down. the so-called porch pirates, people who steal packages and doorsteps, some are turning to technology. as reported, there are privacy

concerns. >> reporter: in houston and los angeles, these alleged porch pirates are quick and brazen. in campbell california, homeowner terry bolan had a security camera caught a man approaching the porch before making off with the deliveries. >> this is what i used. >> reporter: he worked with the local police department to use his porch to drop off bait packages hoping to lure criminals. inside a regular shipping box, they packed a common delivery item with a gps tracking device and they want to keep it under wraps the criminals don't know what to look for. >> we found that a lot of times the thieves open the boxes before they leave, to make sure it is something they want. >> reporter: the thieves are getting picky? >> they are getting picky. >> reporter: these have been successful in several countries. arcadia police said more than 100 suspected thieves have taken the bait and experts said the operations are legal but others said they should be

reporting temperatures are 60s and 70s. thanks from vallejo. satellite radar suggested some clouds are gathering off the san mateo coast but otherwise we track the area of low pressure that will produce a few thunderstorms. hail was reported in brentwood with light snow in the greater lake tahoe area. today, that snow has dissipated and we captured some snowflakes on-the-fly. can't seem to pick up much accumulation at any of the reporting stations, but nonetheless, snow in the month of june in tahoe. no snow in yosemite. temperature-wise, 50s at the beaches and 60s in the peninsula and 70s away from the bay. livermore, 60 degrees and you should be in the low 80s. 79 in san jose and 10 degrees

the divine miss m finally gets her due from broadway.... today's tip is for drilling time. we are grilling yellow sweet onions. let me tell you why they are so great. the sugar is already in there. you cut them about one quarter inch and put them on the grill. you can make a hamburger put it on a salad. it brings out the flavor and caramelized as it and it is wonderful. the outer skin is trim and keep them heavy for the size. store them in a cool and dry place and shelf life is not as
