wednesday morning he ramped up his ongoing feud with jeff bezos owner of the "washington post." he accused the ecommerce company of doing great damage to tax paying retailers. brook silva-braga, cbs news, new york. cities across the country will confederate statues are making moves. crews in baltimore took down four monuments around the city overnight. people came out to watch as they worked. the decision to remove the statues came from baltimore's city council monday night and was approved by the mayor, who says she wants to avoid violent clarks. meanwhile, in birmingham, alabama, the mayor ordered crews to cover up a confederate sailors and soldiers monument. some people are supporting it. loved ones and the community held a memorial for the woman killed iaang reports.

at 5 a.m. instead of 4 a.m. the agency says it would give crews more time to work on construction overnight when the trains aren't running. now, if the measure passes, the change would go into effect next year. new survey shows a significant number of bay area renters want out! it's not just the cost of living that has them looking elsewhere. kpix 5's jackie ward joins us now with the details. jackie? >> reporter: michelle, there have been reports in the past that have said millennials plan on leaving the area in the next few years for a variety of reasons. but according to a site that helps renters find homes, 83% of people want to leave and that number got our attention. rent over the past year has remained relatively stagnant according to several real estate sites. but stagnant doesn't mean affordable for a lot of people. the average one bedroom in san francisco will cost you slightly more than $3,100 a month. in an apartmentlist.com report

it says that up to 34% of renters on the east or west coast will move citing job opportunities and affordability as the main reasons and san francisco renters are no different. 63%, the highest of any metro area in the country, say affordability is the number one reason people will move followed by job opportunities and commute times. in the midwest, about one in five renters says weather is the primary reason they want out. but that's one thing california renters can't say. the 50 metro studies, apartmentlist.com says only .5 of renters would leave because of the weather. ople in los angeles and san diego are reportedly content with the weather there, too. so where do these people plan to go? utah was a very popular we also top choices for west ns coasters. still ahead, getting ready for the rush of people wanting to catch the solar eclipse. people living along its path preparing now for all the tourists.
