bullying of muslim student in california schools. kpix5 karen osborne has the detail it's. >>reporter: more than 1,000 students in california between the ages of 11 and 18 were surveyed as apart of this study, and more than half says they have experienced some form of bullying in school because of their faith. >> with the political environment going on, it only took a few days after the election results for her to be physically targeted. and there was multiple incidents last year. >> a south bay mom tells us what it has been like for her child to experience bullying for being muslim. a study performed and released by care this morning suggest do muslim -- members are down from surveys from previous years. >> in every question we asked students, there was an increase in discrimination and hate they have felt and sometimes teachers

and administrators. >> the 1,000 california muslim students surveyed, 161 were from the bay area. the new numbers will help as they encourage muslim students to speak out if necessary. >> it's hard to hear because so many of these incidents go unreported. >> the report gives recommendations for congress and schools to create a more inclusive -- drivers are checking to see if the city of san francisco owes them money. they're trying to refund thousands of people nor than half a million dollars -- the agency says the overpayments date back to 1995 and go through june of 2014. they've published 7,000 names and companies that double paid for parking tickets or sent in too much money. the latest overpayment figure is about $592,000. if you go to sf -- if
