good afternoon, i'm michelle griego. >> i'm kenny choi. five women came forward accusing comedian louis ck of improper sexual conduct dating back to 2002. now he admits that the claims are true. and he is expressing remorse. in a new statement released, he says: and i've tried to learn from them. and run from 'm aware of the of the impact of my act louie c-k' film was set to premiere york last night. but butor canceled. with an his new film was set to premiere in new york last night but the distributor canceled it. with an increasing number of celebrities being publicly accused of sexual misconduct, the l.a. county district attorney has now created a special task force to investigate the allegations in hollywood. cbs reporter jamie yuccas looks at how the criminal probes are intensifying. >> reporter: the los angeles district attorney says her task force is working in coordination with the lapd and beverly hills police

department. the task force includes specially trained deputy district attorneys and sex crimes prosecutors to work together to assure a uniform approach to the legal review. nearly 70 women have come forward with accusations against harvey weinstein. the "l.a. times" says more than 200 women have accused direct james toback of sexual misconduct and another man is accused. all three deny wrongdoing. sex crime cases are difficult to approve. the l.a. office is the largest in the nation. she hasn't received any cases from law enforcement agencies for possible criminal filings. jamie yuccas, cbs news, los angeles. the bbc just announced its pulling a new agatha christie adaptations due to allegations against actor ed west wick. roy moore will fight on

even after four women claimed he made inappropriate advances towards them while they were under age. mola lenghi has the latest from capitol hill. >> if they are true, he should step aside. >> reporter: republicans did their best to distance themselves from the gop candidate to fill alabama's senate seat but judge roy moore will never give up the fight. he said on twitter: we are mountain midst of a spiritual battle with those who want to silence our message. the controversy began thursday when the "washington post" published claims from four women that moore made advances on them when they were in their teens and he was in his 30s. one woman claims moore kissed her, took off her shirt and pants and guided her hand to touch him over his underwear when she was 14. moore turned the story into a fundraising appeal saying the allegations are filthy and sleazy attacks by forces of evil urging god-fearing conservatives to help him fight back by making a donation. judge moore's relationship with establishment conservatives is shaky. now some on capitol hill are

actively looking for ways to replace him. alaska senator lisa murkowski who won her seat in 2010 with a write-in campaign is urging actor alabama senator luther strange to do the same but moore has support at home. one county republican chairman told a toronto starr reporter this he would still vote for moore even if he did commit sex crime because he would never vote for a democrat. mola lenghi, cbs news, capitol hill. >> the president doesn't believe that a mere allegation should destroy a person's life and the president believes judge moore will do the right thing and step aside if the allegations are true. to the weather now. spotty showers around the bay area this afternoon. here's a look from our cameras in san francisco and san rafael. elsewhere in the east bay, gloomy skies woman is blue trying to peek through. julie watts has the weather. >> it's unsettled. you walk outside and think, there's downpours.

it's one of those rainy days. then a few minutes later, there's sunshine. expect this afternoon over the next couple of hours to see scattered showers tapering off for the second half of the day. it will rather than a few more hours especially down south in atherton, milpitas, mountain view, portola valley. saratoga with a cell, a moderate one at hayward moving east, san ramon light rain, alamo, orinda light rain right now. in the north, all seeing scattered showers. rohnert park a moderate cell. overall, anticipate unsettled weather like this for the next few hours. and then we'll dry out later today. a dry sunny forecast for the weekend. details coming up. new at noon, caltrain wants

riders to park their bikes instead of bringing them on already packed trains. anne makovec reports on the agency proposal to free up some space. >> reporter: every day riders bring almost 6,000 bikes on board caltrain. and when the trains are packed, there's not enough room. >> it has resulted in some people being bumped when a train is at capacity waiting for the next one. >> reporter: caltrain is adding more bike capacity after it gets its new fleet of electrified trains but with ridership going up, caltrain wants more cyclists to leave their bikes at the station. they have a limited amount of lock boxes available for rent, but otherwise bikes are at risk. >> i have two stolen. >> reporter: so caltrain plans to add more secure bike parking. the first step, hiring a new employee dedicated to making it affordable and user-friendly. that person should be hired by early next year. >> there is a large population of people can park their bike and have that be an easy option

rather than the hassle of bringing it on the train. >> reporter: they have more on the caltrain website. find it by going to our website, cbssf.com and click on "links and numbers." in san carlos, kpix 5, anne makovec. you can sign up for a new wildfire alert system in oakland called ac alerted. it's like reverse 911. the city's fire department sends out emergency notices to people who have fires burning in their areas. it was put in place after the devastating wine country wildfires. but oakland itself, of course, is no stranger to destructive blazes. if you would like to sign for the free program, go to acalerts.org. a new plan from the mayor of gilroy, he wants to allow residents to arm themselves with radar guns to catch speeding drivers. people would check out the guns and work in pairs. the drivers then would catch them speeding -- the drivers would be caught speeding and would get warnings in the mail. it's one idea to get drivers to

slow down. the gilroy city council will discuss it monday. it's one of the biggest salutes to veterans in the bay area. right now in richmond, a huge gathering is under way honoring the brave men and women who have served our country. kpix 5's jessica flores reports. >> reporter: we're in an old warehouse in richmond that was once used to make military jeeps during world war ii. it's now today transformed into a resource fair and celebration for veterans. ♪[ music ] >> reporter: a display of patriotism in richmond, where dozens honor the sacrifices of those who served, that gratitude often missing for our veterans. >> people come back from serving. they are discharged. and, you know, for the most part they're just forgotten. and my message is, that we have to take care of our veterans. >> reporter: one local group here at the resource fair aims to show support through a simple act. writing notes. >> if you only serve or write one letter, you have done more than many in america. >> reporter: michael is an air

force veteran. he and his wife started righting notes to military members when their son signed up for the marines. >> he said near, mom, is there any way that you can write to some of the guys that i have met here in boot camp that their families were not writing to him? >> reporter: the request turned into thousands of notes. their organization the angels military support group has sent 73,000 goodie bags to troops around the world since 2004. >> they still have the encouragement of knowing that folks back home are remembering them, are encouraging them, and are appreciative of their time away from their family and friends. >> reporter: the group also makes goodie backs for wounded vets. >> the idea of giving back is the primary reason that i'm proud to be an air force veteran. >> reporter: their mission continues this veterans day weekend enlisting more volunteers to write and send notes to those who signed up to serve and sacrifice. in richmond, jessica flores, kpix 5. this is the scene earlier

this morning at the nation's capital. soldiers taking part in the annual wreath-laying ceremony to pay tribute to everyone who served in world war ii. it took place at the memorial in their honor. and president trump took a few moments earlier today to honor vietnam vets while visiting vietnam. >> our veterans are a national treasure. and i thank them all for their service, sacrifice and patriotism. >> 58,000 vietnam veterans died in the war. mr. trump called them great, great warriors. everyone wants to know, will president trump sit down with russian president vladimir putin this week? the two are both in vietnam right now taking part in the annual apec economic summit. dozens of other world leaders are also taking part. it's unclear whether the u.s. and russia leaders will meet. vietnam is the president's fourth stop on his tour of asia. he has remained focused on trade and north korea. >> the future of this region

what's behind the hefty pricetag at one san francisco bakery. pkg: new at noon, $29 to for a loaf of bed. bread. jackie ward has the story. >> reporter: you can smell it before you even step inside the bakery. that fresh out of the oven smell wafting through the open doors. this caught my attention. >> that would break the bank. [ indiscernible ] >> reporter: the family-run french bakery has only been open for six weeks. it's their latest business venture after moving here from france where they had a bakery for decades. besides the business manager and co-owner and his parents, their employees or apprentices

have essentially no experience in baking. nevermind traditional french baking. >> i tried oracle for a while and had some success but corporate life wasn't for me. >> i want to open up my own place to call my own and i feel like here specifically, i can learn it all. >> reporter: and get paid to learn it. some of the profits from that nearly $30 loaf of bread are used to fund an 18-month training program that pays them $14 an hour to learn the traditional ways of french baking. every, single one of these pastries was hand made. and the recipes coming from the business owner's grandfather. he says they are just getting started. >> there is no excuse. don't tell the world, i cannot train people because it takes too much time or whatever. it's not true. you can do it. >> reporter: in san francisco, jackie ward, kpix 5. >> sylvain says there were 130 applicants for the apprentice

positions. only 4 now work at the bakery full time. tomorrow morning, caltrans plans to finish the demolition of the old bay bridge. crews will implode the final two piers. there will be rolling closures starting at 7 a.m. caltrans says the project is ahead of schedule and that it's been able to cut the total cost by $10 million. let's take a look at the big board now see how the markets are doing. the dow is down about31. holiday hiring is down. career transitioning firm challenger, grey and christmas says few retailers are hiring holiday workers this year. job gains in october fell 8% compared to the same time in 2016. the report says the drop is thanks to more people shopping online. let's get a check of the weekend forecast. julie? >> weekend forecast is looking dry. but today we are not looking dry at least not yet. here's a live look at hi-def doppler. and as you can see, definitely have showers out there this

midday. we are starting to get some breaks in the rain over the last few hours. you may have had some heavy downpours and then peeks of sunshine and we can probably expect that over the next hour or two depending where you are. take a look right now at the 680 corridor. you can see a moderate cell probably with good downpours associated with this cell with the oranges and yellows. this is pushing off towards danville, towards san ramon. and likely going to bring some heavy showers over 680 here over the next, oh, 20 minutes or so. we'll continue to see scattered showers just like this throughout the day. here's a live look at that area where you see gray skies, so in between the showers, gray skies with peeks of sun as well from time to time. so right now, temperatures are hovering near the 60-degree mark. 60 in san francisco. 69 in san jose and santa rosa at 63. 63 in concord at this hour. satellite perspective shows that area of low pressure sort of hanging out as it moves through so will our showers. the main front passed through yesterday. now we are just sort of

unsettled thanks to this area of low pressure. so more showers are on the way until it moves out. we are going to see scattered showers. then friday evening we dry out. by tomorrow, peeks of sunshine, temperatures nice and mild for your saturday. here we are at 1:00, and then as you head on into sunday, similar conditions but increasing clouds. it's not until late sunday night into monday that we start to see the showers beginning in the north bay and then slowly spreading to the south on monday. so three things to remember. today showers continue. sun/cloud mix. this weekend is looking dry chance of showers by late sunday. monday, a wet start to your workweek. sunset tonight 5:01. sunrise tomorrow morning 6:46. and here's a look at your highs around the bay today. temperatures topping out in the mid- to upper 60s. 69 in san jose. 67 in fairfield. 64 the high in oakland.

their home -- this bear! jenny marks and her husband were in their monrov all right. a couple from southern california got a surprise visitor in their home. this bear. they heard something justling in their sunroom. what they thought were their cats were baby bear cubs eating treats. just outside the mother bear and sibling. the bear family is known to hang out in the area. >> that's a little scary! [ laughter ] cooler weather these days may have you turning your heater on for the first time in months. and that could pose a carbon monoxide risk to your pets. so our pet expert dr. jill chase is here with trevor with how to keep them safe.

>> yeah. so i thought this would be a good topic because what michelle said is correct, a lot of people having been the using their furnaces and they are emitting carbon monoxide. carbon monoxide is silent because you don't really smell it. it has no color. and what it does is it replaces the oxygen carrying ability of read blood cells so you basically can't breathe because there's no oxygen. and you die if you are not taken of immediately. i wanted to talk about that and make sure for yourself and your children, make sure you have carbon monoxide detectors in your home. but be aware of the fact that cars, if they are running in a non-ventilated environment, will also emit carbon dioxide. people sometimes in the cold, though, use coal heaters and that's very dangerous as well because it also produces carbon monoxide. so i just wanted to make sure everybody as we are moving into the wintertime recognizes this is a real risk and that we should be very careful. some people were wondering whether or not it had anything to do with the height of where
