when the president entered, some stood, others did not. ahead on "cbs this morning," we will discuss the president's speech with democratic senator joe manchin of west virginia and florida republican marco rubio. now to that classified memo members of the house intelligence committee voted to release. the "associated press" reports following the state of the union address, president trump was overheard telling a member of congress that he was 100% in favor of releasing the document. the white house got the four-page memo written by republicans monday night. the president has five days to decide whether to release it to the public. the memo alleges surveillance abuses by the fbi and department of justice on members of the trump campaign. democrats say it's nothing more than a method to distract from the investigation on russian meddling. >> this is not transparency. this is a misleading document where they're hiding materials. >> the more people know what's going on with our government including the fbi and the justice department, particularly to make sure that politics don't

interfere in their work breeds -- or will bring about greater respect for government. >> democrats have written their own document to counter republicans' claims. that employee of the hawaii emergency management agency who issued a false alert of a missile attack had a history of problems on the job. federal and state reports on the incident revealed he had mistakenly believed drills for tsunami and fire warnings were actual events and colleagues were not comfortable working with him. but despite the issues, management kept him on the job for a decade. chris martinez reports. >> reporter: on saturday, january 13th, they warned of an unofficial imminent missile attack. it stood uncorrected for 38 minutes. at the time they said a worker

had pushed the button accidentally. both found the employee in question did not know it was a drill and intentionally issued a real alert complete with the phrase, this is not a drill. that still unidentified worker has since been fired. >> employee one said he didn't know it was an exercise even though five others that were in the warning point room at that time heard exercise, exercise. >> reporter: investigators called the incident the result of a combination of human error and inadequate safeguards. they also faulted poor supervision and lack of management with h's system. the administrator resigned. >> it was confusing on who was in charge, who's giving out the orders, who's supposed to follow up and do the procedures. >> reporter: the hawaiian governor david ige said he only

recently learned the specifics of what happened. >> this effort is the beginning of our effort to restore the public's trust. >> reporter: the governor says they've already started to implement the changes recommended in the reports. chris martinez, cbs news, los texas. los angeles. the governor of texas has ordered a criminal investigation into the karolyi ranch. in the past six weeks multiple victims say they were abused by larry nassar while they were training there. usa gymnastics cut ties with the ranch last month. last week he was sentenced to 175 years in prison. he returns to court today to face another sentence for molesting gymnasts. three people were killed when a helicopter crashed into a house in southern california. the house was in newport beach and the crash occurred shortly after takeoff. four people were onboard. the pilot survived.

she was told the entire traction would be handled through airbnb. >> she said because it was through airbnb, i was thinking that's a legitimate agency. >> reporter: she followed the specific payment instructs and put it on a sri ka card. the pictures were fake and so were the e-mails that appeared to come from airbnb. they've seen this kind of scam explode nationwide. this e-mail jenny received looks like it's coming from customer service, but take a closer look and you see it's coming from a fake consultant dot-com instead of an airbnb.com. >> this person not only messed with my money, but they also messed with the time that i can give my daughter. >> reporter: the story does take a happy turn. a friend started an online page for jenny, raising thousands of dollars, enough for jenny and her daughter to finally find a new home.
