president trump will use the memo to justify the firing of deputy attorney general rod rosenstein. rosenstein -- a trump appointee -- is the man in charge of special counsel robert muller. firing rosenstein would allow the president to appoint someone new who could be more open to the idea of firing mueller. kenny? lawmakers are considering a bill to address what president trump called a "top priority" in his state of the union speech -- lowering prescription drug prices. the proposed "creates act" would target what critics say

are legal...but questionable tactics that drug companies use to "delay the introduction of cheaper, generic medications." currently -- the government gives a patent to companies for 20 years to exclusively sell their drug. but a company could make minor changes... like switching from a capsule to a tablet. that would extend its exclusive right a little longer. 1:53 "(sot - michael carrier / rutgers law school professor) every time there's a change like this, the generic has to go back to the drawing board. has to redesign the product, get f.d.a. approval, it can't be substituted at the pharmacy counter because it's a little bit different, and so that's what product hopping is all about.
