by students and is going public after she says administrators failed to stop it. >> reporter: a teacher here says she has been sexually harassed for years by some of her male students. says she's reported it and administrators have done nothing. >> it's time i say me too. >> reporter: this math teacher spoke out last week at a meeting of the board of trustees. >> i have been sexually harassed, stalked, intimidated, threatened, bullied, slandered and defamed. >> reporter: she went onto describe some of the more than a dozen incidents she says occurred over her 15 years at the school. >> i have been touched more than once by a student. >> reporter: she says she's gotten lewd phone calls and e- mails and after she reported

it, school administration was unresponsive. >> it's a district wide negligence. >> reporter: the school district says it can't respond to specifics but sent a statement saying the district retained services of an attorney who specializes in workplace investigation to look into the complaints and review the district's protocols for responding. in the meantime, reeder is getting support from her colleagues. >> it is not at all surprising that male students feel they have the power of dynamics available in society to harass female teachers. >> reporter: she was encouraged to speak out after another teacher did last month. >> how do we, female teachers, who have confronted various forms of sexual harassment constantly portray to female student that they will be protected or safe in a district that's repeatedly failed to support, believe, or even respond to us in similar situations? >> reporter: she says this has caused her medical problems and

she's taking personal leave next year. the alameda sheriffs deputies tell us two suspects have been arrested in modesto in connection with the murder of a 19 year odd tracy woman. the victim hasn't been identified but officers say she was stabbed multiple times and dumped out of a car in liver more. according to officials, the woman crawled more than 100 yards after being dumped from the car. she was airlifted to a nearby hospital and before she died officers say she identified her attacker. we are still waiting on the identity of the suspects to be released. if you have flu, federal health officials are urging you to stay home. this season is already one of the worst on record and could get worse. kenneth craig has the latest. >> reporter: 3 year old olivia died monday in indiana after testing positive for influenza. she's one of 63 children who has died from the virus so far this year compared to 20 at this point last year.

in new jersey the north bergen school district is disinfecting school buildings while health department investigates whether the death of a five year old girl there was flu related. >> it's very painful to see a little girl just starting her life passing this way. >> reporter: cdc says one in ten deaths in u.s. is current di due to influenza or pneumonia. >> you are probably contagious for five to seven days after you are really sick. >> reporter: more than 17,000 people in the u.s. have been hospitalized for flu related illnesses since october and cdc says it may be several more weeks before we see the worst of it. seek immediate help if you develop flu symptoms that include persistent high fever, breathing problems, a rapid heart beat. >> if you think you are getting better and then it looks like it is not, you really need to seek medical attention. it may have gone now to your lungs and you may have now a

pneumonia. >> reporter: it's not too late too get the flu shot. the vaccine appears to be less effective against h3n2 flu strain dominating this season but it could lessen the severity of the illness. >> a total of 63 children have died from the flu. california department of health reports 74 deaths from people 65 and other. hospitals are using robots to clean the facilities to stop the spreading. a ban of concealed guns at large gatherings. the proposal is expected to be announced today. it would ban concealed firearms in parks, parades, events requiring street closures. this was drafted last year when a right wing patriot player group planned a demonstration last august. later today we are expecting to hear from the family of a man shot and killed

by a bart police officer. 28 year old kendall was shot and killed in early january across from west oakland station. he was shot in the back three times. his family will hold a news conference to call for murder charges against the officer and to urge the agency to release body cam footage of the shooting. police say that kendall was fighting with another man at the time and did have a gun. kendall's mother says she's seen that copt dictates claims from oakland police that her son was armed. last month police released a photo of a hand gun officers said they recovered from a scene. berkeley may declare itself a sanctuary city for marijuana. jessica flores explains it is believed to be the first of its kind in any state where cannabis is legal. >> reporter: when we talk about sanctuary city we are typically referring to cities that don't cooperate with immigration agents. in the city of berkeley, some leaders want the term to take

on a second meeting by creating a sanctuary city for weed. berkeley could be the first city in the country to officially declare itself a sanctuary city for cannabis. the city council is set to vote on the resolution in the face of a potential federal crack down. the attorney general jeff sessions has significant untilled ellen force federal laws which still classify marijuana as illegal drug. >> we are not going to let a federal government come in and try to roll back the clock. the jeanie is out of the bottle. the access to medicine and what they desire will not be impeded by the federal government. >> an author of the resolution says it combines the city's unique history. >> we are the first sanctuary city in the country and first medicinal marijuana city. these two are in our policy. >> reporter: the resolutions are symbolic. it could lead to a directive.

pass will move forward. republicans are pushing a bill that would give a path to citizenship for nearly 2 million undocumented immigrants who call themselves dreamers. it would fund a border wall with $25 billion and limit family based immigration. >> we shouldn't be focused on passing a bill out of the senate. we should be focused on passing a law, something that president trump is willing to sign. >> this is a difficult issue. we are all aware of that. but we can get something done. we are on the verge. >> the daca program which shields undocumented immigrants brought to u.s. as children from deportation expires march 5. today the fbi director is contradicting explanations from the white house about resignation of the white house aid accused of domestic violence. christopher wray says the bureau briefed the white house on the investigation into porter last march. porter resigned last week after two of his ex wives say he abused them. he was working with an interim

security clearance and yesterday the white house claimed porter's back ground check was still ongoing when the allegations became public. >> to have someone with an interim security clearance for over a year seems very excessive. it sort of defeats of purpose of having a security clearance process in the first place. >> a special fbi unit handles white house security clearance which are designed to be expedited in about 45 days. once complete the findings are handed to the white house which has discretion in deciding whether to approve a full security clearance. lost a court bill to have his arrest warrant dropped in the uk. the wiki leaks founder has spent more than five years evading the law inside ecuador's london embassy. he was trying to avoid extradition it sweden where he was facing sexual assault and rape investigations. prosecutors dropped the investigation last year but the british warrant for violating bail conditions still stands

complaints bureau. let the good times roll on this fat tuesday. today of course is mardi gras. this is a live look at bourbon street in new orleans. people are starting to pack the street there. roughly 1.5 million people are expected to pack the streets for the all day party. this year's celebration is extra special because it marks 300 years since the founding of new orleans. new at noon, get ready to laugh your head off. the second annual cluster fest is coming back to san francisco civic center. we just learned who is performing. headliners are john stewart, amy schumer, bay area's own lonely island. the festival is june 1 through june 3. three day tickets went on sale this morning and start at $234. this sounds like something we should go to. >> we should, but i feel like that's a hefty price tag. we have sometime to save. it's in june. let's talk about our weather.

it looks very june like. people are walking along the beach and it's almost like a summer day. not necessarily temperature wise though. we are still cool, very similar to yesterday's temperatures. we are going through our 19th day of no rain for san francisco. i keep tracking this because we need that. we have plenty sunshine to go around and temperatures are cool today, pretty close to where they should be. here is another great view of golden gate bridge. you see how clear it is. it makes for beautiful views. all our live cameras are looking good. concord 61, 57 liver more, 57 san francisco. our temperatures will only go up ever so slightly compared to what we are experiencing. satellite and radar showing clear conditions out there. we had a few clouds along the coastline but those have pretty much been kicked out of here. we had really gusty winds early in the morning last night overnight and the winds right now even at this noon hour have not calmed down much. we have 10-mile per hour winds

for san francisco. it is better than it was earlier. still strong winds are coming through especially along the hills around napa county area. those higher elevations are seeing stronger winds. we saw gusts as high as 40 miles per hour earlier. here is what we are going to continue to see. we will stay cool and dry for today and for your valentine's day as well. there is a chance of cloud coverage tomorrow. that's pretty much all we will see. your highs will be 62 san francisco, 65 san jose. this gives you a good idea of how dry it is. even as we had that system come through with high elevation snow, we still had barely any moisture in the air. the rain totals are pretty low, san francisco 5.2 inches is all we have seen since january 1. we should be well over that, almost an inch more. sunset is tonight at 5:46. your seven-day forecast looks dry for the next seven days as

for homeless. it's been an attraction for other celebrities. the couple will also attend a reception celebrating youth achievements today. as for valentine's day tomorrow, the couple has taken the day off with no official engagements on their calendar. biggest event in canine competition is underway. the westminster dog show began yesterday and will continue through tonight. the beauty pageant is considered the olympics for the pampered pooches. owners spend long hours and hundreds of thousands to fetch the blue ribbon. top dogs have been named in four categories already, three today, and then a grand prize round best in show. we'll be right back.

today we have house grown tomatoes. it is winter time. tomatoes have been gone for a while. these have been more popular every year. when you buy these, you want to be sure they're nice and red, no green at all. remember they're grown in a hot house so it is controlled how they're grown in the temperature. they're going to pick them when they're nice and red. make sure the stem is attached. make sure it is nice and heavy
