explosion. good morning from the studio 57 newsroom at cbs news headquarters here in new york. good to be with you. i'm anne-marie green. we begin in london where the dutchess of cambridge was admitted to the hospital. it was this morning. she's in the early stages of labor. kate, the wife of william, is expecting the couple's third child. she was taken to the private wing at the hospital. that's where their other children george now 4 and charlotte now 2 were born. also this morning a manhunt is under way for a suspect nashville police say opened fire at a waffle house restaurant. four people were killed. travis reinking is considered armed and dangerous. a customer who grabbed the rifle saved many lies. hena doba has more. good morning, hena. >> authorities have already confiscated the murder weapon and another gun, but they

believe he may have another two in his possession. a frantic manhunt is under way near nashville for 29-year-old murder suspect travis reinking. >> we're telling everybody to be cautious. we don't want to alarm people, but certainly everybody should take precaution. >> people say reinking was half naked when he opened fire with an ar-15 assault rifle in a waffle house parking lot early sunday morning. >> there's certainly evidence there's some sort of mental health issue involved. >> reporter: the suspect is accused of killing two outside and two more in the restaurant. a customer now being hailed as a hero wrestled away the shooter's weapon. >> i started wrestling for it. i took it and tossed it over the counter. >> 21-year-old deebony groves was one of the victims. joe perez was killed in the parking lot. her mom posted on facebook,

saying, quote, today is the hardest day of my life. reinking was known to authorities. the secret service arrested him last year for being near a restricted area near the white house. his guns were confiscated and given to his father for safekeeping but he has now acknowledged give them back to his son. an illinois official said his son was not allowed to have his weapons returned, however, authorities say they're unaware of any tennessee laws that would have barred reinking from having guns. anne-marie? >> hena doba here in new york. thank you, hena. french president emmanuel macron arrives in the united states today, the start of a three-day visit, in which he'll urge president trump to stick to the iran nuclear deal. macron, president trump, and their wives will share a private dinner tonight at george washington's mt. vernon home. mr. trump and macron will meet at the white house tomorrow before the first state dinner of the trump administration.

macron admitted the iran nuclear deal is imperfect, but argues there's no plan b. the president has planned to withdraw from the agreement next month unless what he calls serious flaws are corrected. the two leaders will also discuss trade and tariffs imposed by mr. trump. meanwhile president trump appears to have misinterpreted news out of north korea. yesterday mr. trump tweeted that the north had agreed to denuclearization. what the north said it would do is close its nuclear testing facility and suspend nuclear and intercontinental missile tests, but never suggested it would give up its nuclear weapons. they're negotiating a potential summit in may or june. president trump is back at the white house following a visit to his florida estate. before he left yesterday, he took a picture with officers from the palm beach sheriff's office and other agencies who helped with security. on saturday, the morning of

barbara bush's funeral, mr. trump released another series of tweets concerning his personal lawyer michael cohen. errol barnett reports. >> reporter: while the country's former presidents and their wives paid their respects at the funeral for barbara bush, current president trump sent a flurry of tweets about michael cohen as well as jeff sessions and his deputy rod rosenstein. >> he stands up for people in s he inner circle and people he knows. >> reporter: adviser kellyanne conway for president trump -- >> mr. trump is accusing comey who's on a book tour to share classified memos to trigger investigation which comey denies. and jeff sessions who recused

himself from the inquiry reportedly told the white house he would resign if rosenstein, his deputy overseeing the matter, was fired. >> i believe it's gone well beyond what was intended to be. >> reporter: despite the president's anger, marc short said no one is losing their job. >> they say, when is he going to fire mueller, when is he going to fire comey. as far as i know, the president has no intention of firing these individuals. >> reporter: another legal claim was made against those close to him. the dnc is seeking financial damages stemming from the 2016 hacking of its e-mail service naming donald trump jr., jared kushner, the trump campaign, and the russians. he said democrats are suing the republicans for winning the election. errol barnett, cbs news, west palm beach, florida. well, the president of

nicaragua is canceling plans to overhaul the system following days of deadly protests. the protests started wednesday. at least eight people were killed. there has been looting and panic. president daniel ortega had announced plans to reduce social security and lower pensions. ortega says a new plan will be drafted to strengthen the social security system. isis militants are claiming responsibility for a suicide bombing in afghanistan that killed at least 57 people. a suicide bomber walked up to a voter registration center in kabul yesterday. women and children are among the dead. more than 100 others were wounded. police say they were registered for national identification cards. isis said it had targeted nonreligious shiites. so far this morning southwest airlines has canceled 91 flights as it inspects engines after last week's midair explosion.

it's unclear how many cancellations are directly re t related to those explosions. an engine explosion on a 737 was caused by a fan blade that broke off. that's according to the faa. one passenger was killed. southwest announced it would begin inspecting similar engines. on friday the faa ordered emergency inspections. southwest canceled about 40 flights yesterday. a memorial service was held last night in albuquerque for jennifer riordan, a banking executive who was killed when the southwest engine exploded. the mother of two had been heading home from a business trip. we have video of the arrest of lois reiss suspected of killing her husband and another woman. she was captured last thursday at a restaurant on south padre island in texas. a video shows reiss walking into a restaurant, taking a seat at

evacuated and sent to a nearby hospital. an investigation is under way. alexander hamilton is getting an honor and a family is coping with a tragedy. the "vc star" says a father randomly stabbed to death at a restaurant leaves behind a mourning family. 35-year-old anthony mele jr. was stabbed in the neck whiles he 5-year-old daughter sat in his neck. his wife was there too. a homeless man is in custody charged with a murder. mele is being remembered as an honest man who worked hard to provide for his family. the "chicago tribune" reports on the condition of white sox pitcher danny farquhar. he collapsed in the dugout during a game friday after pitching moments after leaving the pitching mound. he suffered a brain hemorrhage but was in critical condition. he was helped by medical personnel and on-site emts.

"the new york times" reports a professor apologizes for giving information to cambridge analytica. aleksandr cogan was on "60 minutes" last night. he defended his role and said how his information was to be used. he said he never heard a word of objection from facebook. he never thought obtaining data for a political consulting firm was against the rules. and "usa today" says alexander hasn't imilton will b getting an honor air degree. the nation's first treasury secretary will be awarded the honorary degree from albany law school next month. his fifth great grandson will accept it. hamilton attended what is now columbia university. he practiced law at albany and was married there. still ahead, tongues were

meanwhile treasury secretary stephen mnuchin says he may go to china to discuss trade and other economic issues. china welcomed plans by mnuchin and other top officials. he's been in discussions with his chinese counterparts and a trip is under consideration. at the box office "a quiet place," it got a win this weekend appearing to take the top spot. it took in $22 million in ticket sales, barely beating dwayne johnson's "rampage," but those numbers may change when the final count is in later today. amy shuler's "i feel pretty" came in third. and motorcycling maker harley-davidson is offering a new internship. they get to keep the bike when it's over. applications are due may 11th. anne-marie. >> wait. is it only for college students?
