name change as the 100-year-old organization begins welcoming girls. good morning from the studio 57 newsroom at cbs news headquarters here in new york. good to be with you. i'm anne-marie green. well, this morning we begin with a shocking revelation by one of president trump's lawyers. rudy giuliani said the president reimbursed his personal attorney michael cohen $130,000 that michael cohen gave to porn star stormy daniels. this contradicts what the president said, that flatly he did not know about the money. giuliani said this was not campaign money and perfectly legal. hena doba is here in new york. good morning, hena. >> good morning, anne-marie. giuliani says the reimbursement invalidates any claims that money was sent to the porn star. president trump repaid his personal attorney for a $130,000

payment sent to adult film actress daniels. that's according to rudy giuliani who joined the president's legal team two weeks ago. >> something to do with paying some stormy daniels woman $130,000, which is going to turn out to be perfectly legal. that money was not campaign money. >> giuliani's claim directly contradicts what the president directly told reporters aboard "air force one" last month. >> did you know about the $130,000 payment to daniels? >> no, no. >> reporter: mr. trump referred questions about the deal to long-time lawyer michael cohen. >> he did not know about the specifics of it, as far as i know, but michael cohen would take care of things like this. >> daniels claims she was paid $130,000 to bent quiet. giuliani was stun by it.

>> the american people have been lied to about this agreement, about the $130,000, about the reimbursements. we just didn't know that rudy giuliani was going to go on the sean hannity show and admit it on national television. >> giuliani said mr. trump only learned the specifics of the 'agreement with ms. daniels after cohen's office was raided on the 29th. giuliani described the payment to daniels as a very regular thing to do. questions have been directed to the president's personal legal team. anne-marie. >> hena doba here in new york. thanks so much, hena. this morning a severe weather system in the central u.s. threatens another round of tornadoes, hail, and damaging wind. the severe weather stretches from texas to illinois. a tornado watch is posted in oklahoma. yesterday at least eight tonightonight tornadoes were reported including one that touched down in kansas city, missouri, and sent a tree crashing into a house.

>> the house shook and the windows like blew open. i don't know. it happened really fast. >> everybody's safe, everybody's fine. all the stuff, you know, of course, is destroyed, but it's fine. it's just stuff. >> the severe weather is expected to continue moving through the great plains through tomorrow. there have been no reports of serious injury. and up to eight police officers were injured in connecticut as authorities negotiated with a man who was holding his wife hostage in barn. the barn exploded as the police were trying to coax the man out. neighbors said the blast was powerful. >> literally stuff on our kitchen tables was shaking. it's just unbelievable. this is such a quiet town. stuff like this never happens around here. >> the officers were not seriously injured. the fire that followed the explosion spread to the house.

the wife escaped. but it's unclear what happened to her husband. the last flight of a 60-year-old military plane ended in disaster. all nine crew members of an aging c-130 died when it crashed onto a georgia highway yesterday. it had just taken off from savannah hilton head international airport. the crew was flying the plane into retirement. mark strassmann has details. >> reporter: thick black smoke billowed from the c-130 hercules cargo plane moments after it nose-dived and exploded near hilton head international airport. >> our thoughts and prayers go out to our brothers and sisters at the puerto rico international guard. >> reporter: officials say the plane was in the air for about two miles. members of the puerto rican international guard were en route to arizona on a training mission were killed. >> it's unexplainable. everything was gone, people just rushing to try toe help. >> reporter: roger best got to the wreckage ahead of first responders. >> it looks like a war zone.
