right after kpix news at 5:00 p.m. and let's check in with emily and the forecast. >> big changes out there. this is a live look outside. you can barely see the top of the bridge. the fog and low clouds moved out for most parts of bay area making for a big temperature change. 78 degrees in concord. san francisco, 67. look at the high temperatures today. well in the 90s in south bay and morgan hill. here's what i want you guys to see, triple digits in brentwood and cooler closer to the water. 60s and 70s around the bay. and the biggest temperatures in the fornouth bay with a heat advisory. stay safe out there. two more firefighters injured by a deadly wild fire near yosemite national park. the fire burned more than 17,000 acres. nearly 2,000 firefighters are on the front lines and right now,

it is only 5% contained. a 36-year-old firefighter died over the weekend fighting the fire. it broke out friday. new at noon, after a year and a half and detours, the road to bug sur the open. here's a bird's eye view of the stretch. a quarter mile section had been blocked since may of last year 65 miles south of monterrey. the section of the roadway gave way to this massive slide. the reopening is good news for coastal businesses that have been struggling during the area during the closure. the roadway opened up two hours ago. an official ceremony will be on friday. and east pal at is giving people -- palo alto is giving people in rv's a permanent place to park. here's the just approved plan. >> reporter: the city owned property will be the site of the

new rv park. the city council is hoping to create a model for other cities to follow. this street lined with rv's where people now live the one of the reasons the council declared a shelter crisis. >> we're a compassionate community and care about one another. >> reporter: this council member voepted to spend $319,000 on a one-year pilot program for a city-sanctioned rv park for 60 vehicles, showers, and laundry machines. it's a personal property between the city and a nonprofit called we hope. >> we want a program to hold the residents accountable. >> reporter: the rv 's must be sift checked and operational. each person is supposed to stay for 90 days. some who work nearby have concerns. >> i don't want it.

day camp on long island, they're using facial recognition to keep parents connected. >> they're busy and if they can have a program to send them a text alert about technology used is called waldo photos. it uses a family provided selfie of a camper and scans the photographs uploaded and matches the images to the selfie and sends the camp's pictures in text messages to parents. if not for this, what would you use? >> i would scan through hundreds of pictures. >> most people's perception is they think, oh, my gosh, this company has run facial recognition on me or a family member. now they have this stored somewhere. >> reporter: rodney is founder and ceo. >> all we collect is the reference image the facial recognition and your
