live from the cbs bay area studios, this is kpix 5 news. a heartbroken mother sharing her pain after a daughter is stabbed at a bart station, appearing to be random. >> right now, there is a police manhunt for the killer, the attack happened about 9:45 pm at the macarthur bart station in oakland.

jessica florez has an exclusive interview with the victim's mother. jessica?>> reporter: that's right, we are here at the macarthur bart station, things are running smoothly, back to normal, but here's why you know things are normal, these flowers, people leaving these, for nia wilson and her family, the she is the victim. her mother says she just wants justice for her doctor. nia wilson's mother facing an unimaginable task, choosing pictures to remember her. just 18 years old, she was writing bart home to oakland, when he suspect stabbed and killed her on a -- in a random attack on the macarthur bart station platform. >> this man just came and did this to my baby, my baby!>> reporter: she was with her two

sisters, getting off the train, helping a woman with a stroller, when a man stabbed her and an older sister. a white man in his 20s or 30s, short hair and a heavy build, got away. the random violence comes months after 2 riders stabbed -- survive a stabbing attack, and bart police are going to step up for patrols. >> where were the police, you said you were going to have people on the platform, where were the people?>> reporter: bart says an officer was at the station, it is unclear whether they were on the platform, we asked them if riders should be worried about safety. >> the situation onrtisn't reburiders are on edge. >> the first thing that my husband told me, he was worried about me getting on bart.
