week at all different times. >> the murder suspect john lee cowell is due in court tomorrow morning. police are looking for a gunman who killed a man in san francisco's mission district early this morning. the shooting around 3:00 a.m. left one man dead and another with life-threatening injuries. it happened at the intersection of 16th and mission streets. police hope surveillance video and witness testimony could provide more clues. there is surveillance video a lot of the area. anyone with information, anyone who did witness or see anything, heard anything, we are asking for them to come forward. so far no word on a possible motive for the shooting. a chp patrol car caught fire earlier today. chopper five overhead. this happened on highway 24 at the st. stephens exit. heat from the flames set off the ammunition in the car. lanes had to be close because shots were firing off. the slaves have since reopened,

no injuries reported and no word yet on what caused the fire. e attorney for brock turner is in court in san jose today to appeal his clients sexual assault conviction. the former stanford swimmer walked out of jail in 2016 after serving three months of a six-month sentence. now his lawyer is arguing his clients did not get a fair trial . is also claiming the prosecution did not have sufficient evidence to prove turner knew the victim was passed out. the hearing began a couple hours ago, a decision is not expected today. the wildfire near yosemite national park is 25% contained. the ferguson fire has burned more than 36,000 acres of standing dead trees and is near limited access roads. highway 140 is still closed and the fire is going on its 12th day. in shasta county, this fire
