wildfire closes in. the park shut down yosemite valley just about minute ago. highway 41. that leads into the heart of the park, is also closed. so is highway 140. this is the largest park closure in nearly 30 years. the ferguson fire is now about 25% contained. yosemite valley is full thpark under imminent danger from the fire, but officials decided on the closure to let -- closure to let crews perform protective measures without having to deal with tourist traffic. at least 1,000 campground and hotel reservations have been canceled during what's usually the busy season. >> this is not healthy to go on hikes or any of the tours, we couldn't you know do a lot of this tings we wanted -- the things we wanted to do. >> for two weeks now in steep rugged terrain and it has burned almost 60 square miles so far. the yosemite closure is expected to go on until sunday. >> hot there and we have more on the heat advisory that's

just been extended into the bay area. >> definitely hard to watch the beautiful country land burning and for our area, we are definitely starting to feel that heat. it's going the start to get pretty scorching here. let's show you this heat advisory, it's now been extended for the east bay hills clean iding alameda and slain -- including alameda and santa clara counties. lake we arest is all now under -- lake berryessa all now under the heat advisory. so prolonged heat that means temperatures upper 90s through about 110, 112. this includes the east bay brace yourselves this afternoon is going to get very, very warm. right now already feeling that heat. 86 in concord and compare that to 61 in san francisco. kenny? >> thank you. new clues this afternoon in a homicide cold case in san francisco. here's kpix 5's anne makovec with the details. >> reporter: this case has been cold for almost two years. but san francisco police are releasing new video evidence that they hope will help catch a killer.

police say the man riding on the handlebars in this short video was making his get away on september 30th, 2016. after shooting and killing 24- year-old mitchell warren. who lived in san francisco and was studying to be an electrician. >> still knowing that the individual that did this to him and that has shaken hi family to their -- my family to their core is still out walking around free? has -- has has to come to an end. >> reporter: his family came to the san francisco police department today begging for new clues in his murder. warren was shot at the corner of ellis and polk in san francisco at 4:30 a.m. after an altercation with the suspect. this is a picture of that suspect that police say was taken right before the shooting. he's wearing a san francisco giants' hat and a sweatshirt that says fringe. >> this guy needs to be caught. so some other father isn't having to the kids and tell them that their baby brother or whoever, their uncle, has been shot and fothe

in this case, police say they have some ideas but they're not releasing that information just yet. in san francisco, anne makovec, kpix 5. the panel accused of killing a woman on a b.a.r.t. platform will be arraigned in couple of hours. 27-year-old john lee dowel is charged with first degree murder, assault with a deadly weapon, and violation of parole. the father of his alleged victim nia wilson plans to be in the courtroom. >> no parent ever want to go through what i'm going through right now. and all i want is justice for my daughter. that's it. that's all. >> meanwhile, the memorial for nia at the mcarthur b.a.r.t. station is growing and police say both she and her sister were stabbed in their necks saturday night as they were transferring trains. the sister was injured and her father says she impentrump rep discussing a payment to a former "playboy" model with his

the epa says that 97% of this soil needs to be retested because of falsified results. in hunters point, jackie ward, kpix 5. police in oakland investigating two separate shootings that happened just hours apart. [ sound of gunfire ] shots were fired just before 10:00 p.m. last night on nay avenue. two male victims both suffered gunshot wounds and they were transported to the hospital. and a few hours later another shooting occurred on 65th avenue. one person has died and another is injured. it's unclear if the cases are connected. so what would doth 22 million? well, someone struck the jackpot in san jose but the winner is still a mystery. the store that sold the lucky mega millions ticket ernie's liquor on ticket in the entire country.

bay yoga stores. the suspected robbers respect after cash. they want yoga pants. police are in yoga pants after swarming a lululemon store in berkeley. this happened on july 2nd. another robbery happened this weekend. this time in fresno. police say a group of women walked into the store there and took $17,000 worth of athletic gear. fresno police say the thefts fit the pattern of similar crimes in some bay area stores in san jose and palo alto and san mateo and gilroy. most of the crimes were captured on surveillance video. but the criminals have not been caught. new video this noon of a

stocks are trading at this hour on wall street. the dow is up about 10 points. hackers have figured out another way to get your personal information. >> as reporter danielle nottingham explains, they trick victims into handing over their passwords. >> reporter: it's the latest version of the phishing scam. criminals are sending out fake e-mails and text messages to users claiming there's been suspicious activity on their account and they need to reset their passwords. the infiltration is called a man in the middle attack. >> what we mean by a man in the middle attack is that there's a person or a computer that is intercepting hiat you e tyng epthat s access to user names, passwords and credit card information. >> attacks are bobbi kristina more fist -- becoming more sophisticated and more targeted. >> reporter: if you click on the link it takes tow a fake log in. -- you to a fake log in. the criminals can see you entering the user name and password can the crooks to -- and the crooks go to the real

italian space agency. based on radar pulses being sent, the agency believes that the bodies of waters similar to those found beneath greenland and antarctica are almost a mile below the surface. wow that's a pretty amazing discovery. >> yeah. and for people not east bay -- in the east bay they are probably wishing for water. that's for sure, it's very, very warm already at this noon hour. so let's show you some of the current conditions. we are already seeing those temperatures skyrocketing. brentwood, you are at 104 degrees. mount lake diablo. 91. pleasanton right now 91. danville 95. clayton, also in the mid 90s same with lake berryessa and san jose, nothing but sunshine across the south bay. temperatures there 79 and santa rosa the same. san francisco 67 compared in rmore. so you are gog to notice quite a significance difference anywhere near the water. we have a west-northwest wind right now at sfo up to 20 through downtown san francisco. also up to 20. so that's bringing in coastal cool air but only for the spots next to the coast.

so unfortunately, inland spots get ready because it's going to be dangerously hot. this ridge of high pressure right here is why we're getting that on shore breeze. but it's also why you are feeling that heat if you are not getting that coastal influence. so morgan hill you are not going get it. 97 degrees instead for you. compared to 63 for the afternoon high in pacifica today. it's going to feel cool by the beaches. but look at that brentwood already 104 degrees. so definitely temperatures are going to rise even a few more degrees now. 69 for the afternoon high in san francisco. 89 in kent field and wine country temperatures in the 90s and clearlake and lake port also triple digits for your forecast today. it's going to last a while now. look at this futurecast. showing that ridge of high pressure is going to continue to hover right over california through at least friday. now and then it will start to move a little bit more east, but temperatures will still stay above average especially inland through this coming weekend. so heat advisory now extended for lake berryessa and lake counties the diablo range. santa clara counties now under this advisory through 8:00 p.m. on friday. temperatures could reach the

upper 90s to triple digits for many of those locations. we're not going to get much cooling at all. look at that. even saturday, sunday, you are staying in the 90s inland. and then monday, tuesday, slight drop in temperatures. maybe about a ten degree drop though. still in the 90s but at least imagesofce ns opstzing the resc operation. they practiced volunteer children teaching and scuba diving with them. trying to simulate the same movements underwater and in the cave. it has been two weeks since the 12 soccer boys and their coach have been rescued from inside the cave in thailand. coming up, why officials want to hit the brakes on a new internet challenge inspired by a song by drake.
