aircraft is very attractive to the group in terms of messages. >> the tsa says the move would save them $115 million a year. they would use the money to boost security at bigger airports. this afternoon, there are new evacuation orders sdu to the mendocino complex fire. katie is here with the latest. >> reporter: the fire department updated the evacuation orders in the western of the -- part of the county. blue lakes, upper lakes, lake port, bachelor valley, scotts valley, and sarasota springs need to evacuate. thanks to successful backfire operations, the river fire and ranch fires in lake and mendocino counties are closer to being contained. the update shows the river fire is now 50% contained and the

ranch fire is 33% contained. and in redding, more evacuated residents were allowed to return home now that the carr fire is 50% contained. it's the sixth most sdruktdive wild fire in -- destructive wild fire in state history with six people killed and 1,000 homes destroyed. near yosemite, the ferguson fire is 39% contained. two firefighters died battling the blaze, including a bulldozer operator trying to cut a fire line in the forest. a newly released report shows he was out of radio contact for more than four hours before a fire fighting pilot spotted the dozer at the bottom of a cliff. and there are questions whether basic safety protocols were followed before his death.

the man and woman were spotted new, new york police forced to fish two people out of the east river. the man and woman were spotted in the water near the williamsburg bridge this morning. the man said he went to the water to get the woman. but both were taken to the hospital and expected to be okay.

in texas, a man hunt for the cardiologist that treated george h.w. bush. investigators believe they're closer to understanding the motive. >> we believe that this absolutely is the killer. . >> reporter: houston police chief says new surt footage -- security footage led to a tip that pointed to joseph james pappas. >> the suspect's mother was a patient of the doctor and died durgs surgery 20 years ago. >> reporter: he's accused of shooting mark hausknecht. surveillance video allegedly shows pappas methodically following him on his bike and s >> there's a lot of planning and sadly, some skill. i'll leave it at that.

>> reporter: korthd khou, pappas was a former law enforcement officer and tried to sell guns and ammunition online. they searched his home and found evidence that ties pappas to the shooting. neighbors were shocked by the news. >> i'm blown away he's doing it. he's a quiet man. >> reporter: pappas hasn't been seen for more than two days. officials say he sentd a text message on tuesday saying he was going to kill himself. police zeroed in on the bike. it was the main form of transportation and it's a schwi schwinn ten speed. it could be the key to the case. >> and police are warning the public that's he's armed and dangerous. new video of a suspected peeping tom caught in the act at air southern california target. this man points a camera up a woman's skirt.
