kpix 5 news. a 12-year-old girl abducted at the airport. police say she planned to travel to the bay area, and suddenly disappeared at reagan national. now she's the subject of an amber alert. is in the newsroom with more about the girl and authorities say she is in extreme danger. >> law enforcement officials say the student jingjing ma was headed to san francisco when she was abducted by a woman helped her change into a different set of clothes before walking off with her. police have released surveillance videos of jingjing ma leaving the airport with an unknown asian woman and getting into this suv driven by an unknown asian man. >> we pursue this until we know she is safe. >> reporter: the 12-year-old chinese national was with a tour group. delta damae when she left to use the restroom and never came back. the surveillance photos seem to

show jingjing willingly going with the couple. >> critical missing, extreme danger. we have a 12-year-old girl, we dot she's want that. for us, this is our priority number one. >> the tour group went on without jingjing and is here in the bay area. >> we were conducting interviews on the west coast. this group has already traveled to san francisco to contin their tour, so the fbi's assistance, we're continuing to verify the information. >> reporter: authorities are still trying to locate the girl's family to notify them. and as that story was airing, our newsroom just confirmed that the national children for missing and exploited organization has found jingjing. she is safe. we'll be bringing you more details as they come into the newsroom. jackie ward, back to you. a traffic mess this

morning. a motorcycle rear ended a car, then swerved into a big rig. it happened in the middle of the span. traffic was backed up on interstate 80 for several miles. the motorcyclist has major injuries. the biggest concern for firefighters this weekend, red flag warnings because of the warm, windy weather. in 15 minutes, mandatory evacuation orders in lake county due to the ranch and river fires. this is for the pepper wood grove, paradise valley, glenn haven and clear lake oaks areas. the fire forced new evacuations this morning. smoke from those fires has been making its way to the bay area. you can see the hazy skies from our exclusive sales force camera. mary lee is here with the red flag warning. >> firefighters not getting a break when it comes to weather conditions. a red flag warning in effect near the carr, ferguson and

mendocino complex fires. the red flag warning in effect through tomorrow. strong ridge top winds, gusts up to 35 miles per hour, low relative humidity values, and we're talking about dry, gusty winds. that does mean extreme fire danger. we're tracking that very closely for you. now let's show you the air quality in the moderate category there for the bay area. we'll talk about what you can expect as we head through the weekend coming up. drones are flying in shasta county today over burned out neighborhoods at the carr fire. it reduced more than a thousand homes in the redding area to ash. today it's 39% contained. drones will give crews a better scope of the damage. first responders from menlo park in alameda county are helping with today's efforts. more help has arrived, nearly 200 firefighters from australia and new zealand will spend six weeks on the west coast fighting california firefighters. some have been dispatched to lake and mendocino counties. a permanent homeless

shelter is opened on caltrans property. the state is leasing the site for 1 dollar a month. it sits near the freeway ramps and houses up to 125 people. people will be bringing their belongings and pets inside. there will also be counseling for drug addiction and mental illness. >> i want people in san francisco when they walk out the door to feel the difference, when they step outside. this will take a focused, sustained effort is we're making investments to make this happen. >> right now, there are at least four temporary navigation centers in san francibu this is one of at least two permanent facilities that are expected to open on caltrans property this summer. police say that they have identified a suspect in the murder of a 64-year-old concord man who was killed at his home one week ago. police believe 55-year-old terrence boyd dixon murdered michael downy in downy's home. there's a warrant out for dixon's arrest. police have not determined a motive but said that the two

flood warnings and people were forced to evacuate because of a dam that could burst at any moment. >> reporter: new drone video from over the college lake dam in virginia shows it is holding for now. flooding has receded but water behind the dam remains high. officials began evacuating 80,000 residents living below the dam, officials thought it might fail. crews in rescue boats went door to door, some people only had minutes to escape. 6inches of rain pounded the area in a matter of hours turning parks into ponds, chewing up roads and leaving drivers stranded in flood water. the national weather service has posted flash flood watches and wafrom georgia to vermont. in charlottesville, virginia, a tornado with wind speeds reaching 70 miles per hour ripped up trees and damaged a high school. in north carolina, it flooded streets in charlotte, and caused this sinkhole near

greensboro. >> everything is a lake. it flooded so bad the daughter did come down and i found fish in my driveway. >> reporter: in new york city, residents in queens reported seeing funnel clouds. this 2-mile stretch got the brunt of thth downed power lines and trees snapped in half. >> just loud, loud wind and then a really big split. >> crews are cleaning up the damage, the area is in the path of more storms. hena doba, cbs news, new york. things are little less severe in the bay area. let's get a check of the weekend forecast with mary lee in for neda. >> we'll see daytime highs today slightly warmer compared to yesterday afternoon to end out the workweek for us. high pressure really in control for us, and that high remains in control for now. we are tracking an area of low pressure to our north. that's going to dip down, and that will bring cooler weather for the weekend. your weather headlines, hazy sunshine today, away from the coast, highs a bit warmer. and temps will dip slightly for this weekend.

a lot of great weekend events going on, heading out to the sonoma county fair. warm to hot, near 90 degrees. the fremont festival of the arts, this weekend, sunshine and warm temps in the mid- to upper 70s. stern grove festival sunday in san francisco, low clouds and cool conditions, about 60 degrees. all in all, great weekend weather for us. highs today, a little bit warmer. we're looking at 84 in cupertino. 67 for daytime high in hayward, and 82 for milpitas. as you head farther inland, 90 pittsburg, 93 in brentwood and livermore, a daytime high of 92 and then up in the north bay, santa rosa, 92. and 88 for novato. now locations near the mendocino complex fires looking at highs in the mid-90s. so a high fire danger, hot temperatures, dry, gusty winds, not the best weather conditions
